The Sorting Ceremony had just ended when Snape walked into the Great Hall with an unprecedentedly broad grin.

All the surrounding students stared at him with horrified expressions.

"O-of course! We all know what happened. It'd be strange if I couldn't figure it out, right?"
James was rendered speechless by the retort.
Everyone knew Harry had certain special privileges. Vincent could be expelled, but Harry never would be.
Ron had also been blessed by fate this term, but now not even a trace of it remained.
Neville looked ordinary, but he knew perfectly well how different he was from the two of them.
"I admire you even more now." James reached out and placed a hand on Vincent's shoulder. "If I had half your ability, I'd be even more arrogant and complacent than Malfoy."

After Dumbledore and McGonagall followed Snape out of the Great Hall, he suddenly shrieked,
"Potter and Weasley are finished! Let's go celebrate in the common room later!"
"Yeah!" Crabbe and Goyle immediately chimed in loudly, showing excellent awareness of the situation.
