Background
Before the apocalypse, Ye Qingwei was a hospitalized songwriter suffering from an extremely rare illness. Her legs were numb from the condition, and without treatment she faced death; her surgery ultimately saved her life 7. Although she wrote songs, she lacked recognition and initially struggled to believe that her work had value 4 5.
Jiang Yang approached her with an offer to cover her medical expenses and bring her into his company’s creative team. Ye Qingwei accepted after leaving surgery, despite Ye Fan’s objection 4 7. When the apocalypse began, she awakened Heart of Healing. Its rapid self-healing removed old injuries and scars, while her recovery from the illness allowed her to begin regaining the mobility she had long wanted 12.
She joined Jiang Yang’s group rather than remaining with her brother. Her healing repeatedly became crucial to the group’s survival, including during the final battle against Ye Fan, where she restored Jiang Yang despite her depleted mental power 42 139. Ye Fan’s death left her grieving, but she accepted Jiang Yang’s consolation and remained with Dawn 141.
Appearance
Ye Qingwei was initially frail and bedridden due to her illness, with a thin build, fair skin, and long hair 5 7 356. Following her recovery and rise within Dawn, her bearing changes markedly: she is described as elegant, cold, and commanding, with the presence of an empress 663.
- Her eyes gain a faint green hue after bonding with the Spirit of Grass and Wood 255.
- Her Life Empress Law manifests as a hovering crown and immense waves of vitality 746.
- When plundering life force, she is surrounded by dark spheres and an oppressive, deathly aura 746.
- She wears Death God-version Mikadall Armor and later the black Death Commander Set 533 824.
Personality
Ye Qingwei begins as a hopeful but inexperienced young woman, deeply affected by Jiang Yang’s recognition of her songwriting and the prospect of recovering from her illness 5 7. Once the apocalypse begins, she refuses to remain merely protected. She trains her healing ability until her mental energy is exhausted because she does not want to burden the team 54.
Her role in Dawn develops her into a cautious, capable commander. She conceals Dawn’s strength until it can be used decisively, leads the Death Palace’s defenses during attacks, and makes the decision to launch an assault on Qingshui City after discovering the danger posed by the Misaar and the Ghost Doctor 318 428 730 732.
As the Dawn Empress, she becomes more authoritative and ruthless toward threats to Shicheng. She can be possessive and jealous concerning Jiang Yang, particularly around potential new female allies, but remains loyal to him even when offered safety and power in Guanghan Palace 459 573 880.
Abilities & Skills
Heart of Healing
Ye Qingwei’s original Ability is an exceptional healing power that transfers and infuses life energy. Its healing effect is stated to surpass ordinary healing-type Professional skills by a factor of ten 12.

- Restores others, including critically exhausted allies in battle 42 139.
- Releases a green halo capable of dispelling mental control over nearby people 108.
- Requires mental energy; overuse causes exhaustion and weakens the intensity of her healing 54.
- Functions primarily through life-energy infusion rather than conventional restorative effects 595.
Spirit of Grass and Wood
The Spirit of Grass and Wood voluntarily selects Ye Qingwei as its master and reacts synergistically with Heart of Healing 255.

- Can safely disconnect if exposed, though doing so causes mental backlash 703 718.
