Background

Before the apocalypse, Chu Han was an insignificant online streamer. After becoming a zombie, he initially worried that he was merely a villainous supporting character fated to die for a protagonist’s growth, so he chose to survive and indulge himself rather than chase obvious opportunities immediately 114 311.

He searched for his girlfriend, Nana, after turning into a zombie. By consuming Crystal Cores, he evolved toward a more human form, but his remaining humanity later vanished as he forced Nana to her death and began killing for amusement 76 91.

Chu Han eventually declared himself the Zombie King. He regarded zombies as his assets, relying on hordes rather than personal combat strength and seeking to build enough power to challenge Jiang Yang safely 195 215 226.

Appearance

Chu Han’s appearance changes substantially as he evolves. In his advanced zombie state, he can pass for an ordinary human except for his pitch-black eyes; after becoming a Level Five creature, he develops a towering undead body and a dense corpse aura 149 313 367.

  • Wears branded suits when maintaining a human-like appearance 114.
  • Has completely black eyes in his evolved zombie form 149.
  • Can conceal the zombie virus within his body and avoid infecting others 149.
  • Later grows to roughly ten meters tall inside the Death Forbidden Zone 367.
  • His Level Five form resembles a ghoul more than an ordinary zombie and emits corpse aura capable of corroding its surroundings 313 315.

Personality

Chu Han is calculating, survival-oriented, and acutely aware of unequal power. He avoids direct fights he cannot win, prefers leveraging zombie numbers, and delayed revenge against Jiang Yang when he judged the difference in strength too great 152 215 226.

He is vain and theatrical, styling himself as a gentleman or king while threatening enemies through controlled zombies. He enjoys provoking Jiang Yang, sometimes simply to interfere with Jiang Yang’s plans, yet becomes cautious whenever Jiang Yang demonstrates overwhelming strength 224 262 377.

His strongest motivation is freedom. Learning that the Will of the Plane had made him an antagonist and that Nightmare was the true Son of the Plane left him determined to break free from outside control and reclaim his status as Corpse King 303 311.

Abilities & Skills

Corpse King’s Majesty

Chu Han’s defining racial authority allows him to establish mental dominance over zombies and organize them into a horde.

  • Imprints zombies within a three-kilometer radius, causing them to submit to him as their king 282.
  • Controlled at least ten thousand zombies by the time Nightmare challenged his authority 282.
  • Can use zombies as remote messengers and observe through their perspectives as though watching surveillance feeds 221 223.
  • Uses zombie hordes to surround, trap, block, or threaten enemies rather than relying solely on his own combat ability 175 222 226.
  • Stronger mutated zombies can resist his influence, and his earlier control had a limited effective range 114.

Primary Racial Consciousness Collective

A separate core function of Chu Han’s Numerical Panel that acts as a central processor for the zombie race.

  • Its processing ability rises as the number of zombies under his control increases 282.
  • Greater control also increases the system’s mental load on Chu Han 282.
  • His information-processing speed becomes comparable to that of the Insectoid Race’s Brain Bugs 222.

Numerical Panel

Chu Han’s Low-level Stat Allocation System enables him to collect and improve skills.

  • Skill points can upgrade illuminated abilities, while most skills in the panel remain locked 281.
  • His first allocations enhanced Corpse King’s Majesty, Mental Share, and Steel Body 281.
  • Gains points by devouring Professionals and mutated beasts; a Level One Professional yields one-tenth of a point 299.
  • Can gradually replicate the skills of nearby zombies, including Nightmare, through a displayed progress bar 299.

Mental Share

A skill upgraded through the Numerical Panel.

  • Draws upon a target’s mental power, effectively transferring part of it to Chu Han during use 281.
  • Allowed Chu Han to overwhelm Nightmare’s mental pressure and reduce her threat to him 281.

Steel Body

A defensive skill upgraded through the Numerical Panel.

  • Greatly reinforces Chu Han’s physical body; Nightmare’s claws broke when she tried to kill him 281.
  • Her mental-power-enhanced attack also suffered backlash upon striking him 281.

Evolved Zombie Physiology

Chu Han retains a human appearance while gaining enhanced zombie traits.

  • Can freely control toxins and the zombie virus within his body 149.
  • Possesses enhanced senses and physical capabilities 149.
  • Communicates with nearby zombies rather than merely issuing simple commands 149.
  • His dormant Ultimate Form was recorded at Level One but had not activated 225.

Death Monarch Authority

After merging with a Level Five corpse in the Death Forbidden Zone, Chu Han gains undead-based abilities and a connection to the zone.

  • Recorded skills include Forbidden Zone Resonance, Iron Corpse, Undead Summon, and Whisper of the Dead 374.
  • Can influence terrain and command creatures within the Death Forbidden Zone through his connection to it 374.
  • His corpse aura melts weaker Insectoid guards and causes nearby trees to rot 313 315.
  • His authority is subordinate to Jiang Yang after Jiang Yang becomes master of the Death Forbidden Zone 375 377.

Equipment / Items

  • Basic Warrior profession — Acquired through the Apocalypse Store; later confirmed on his displayed information 150 317.
  • Apocalypse Store equipment — Bought and equipped items with Apocalypse Coins before approaching Jiang Yang’s Travel Agency 150.
  • Electric scooter — Used to travel through Linjiang after arming himself 150.
  • Half of the Death Key / Forbidden Zone Crystal — Held a half of the key to the Death Forbidden Zone and used it to sense that he could eventually leave the zone 311 316.
  • Game controller and games — Requested from Jiang Yang to alleviate boredom in the Forbidden Zone 436.

Relationships

  • Nana — Former girlfriend. Chu Han searched for her after becoming a zombie, then forced her to jump to her death after confronting her and the man who exploited her 76 91.
  • Jiang Yang — Principal rival and later reluctant ally. Chu Han repeatedly sought revenge and tried to curb Jiang Yang’s growth, but cooperated with him against the Insectoid Race and the Brain Bug; Jiang Yang eventually became his superior within the Death Forbidden Zone 152 304 377.
  • Nightmare — Intelligent psychic-type mutated zombie, initially his strongest subordinate and bodyguard. Their relationship is marked by her attempted rebellion, Chu Han’s possessiveness, and his demand that Jiang Yang bring her into the Forbidden Zone 225 281 316.
  • Meng Yue — Companion who criticizes Chu Han for obsessing over obstructing Jiang Yang while failing to improve his own strength 262.
  • Gu QingJiang Yang’s ally whom Chu Han captured as leverage during the Qianhe Town confrontation 224.
  • Brain Bug — Enemy leader of the Insectoid Race. Chu Han bears a grudge over its forces consuming his zombies and joins Jiang Yang in defeating it within the Forbidden Zone 312 313.
  • Nether Dragon — Fellow Level Five Forbidden Zone guardian. Chu Han fought and severely injured it with Jiang Yang’s assistance; both later became subordinate guardians under Jiang Yang 312 377.
