Too Many Coincidences Cease to Be Coincidences
School Hospital.
Harry lay alone in the hospital bed, his right arm wrapped in thick bandages.
Although it was extremely agonizing, he could clearly feel the bones that had been removed growing back, which brought him some relief.
"You idiot."
Two tennis ball-sized eyes suddenly appeared in front of Harry, startling him.
Dobby sat down at a table at the foot of the bed and said, with a wronged but serious expression, "Harry Potter should listen to Dobby. If Harry Potter missed the train, he should go home."
"How did you know I missed the train?" Harry stared at Dobby suspiciously. "So it was you. You were the one who sealed off the wall and prevented us from getting in."
Dobby nodded Dobby guiltily, "That's right, sir."
"You almost got me and Ron fired."
"At least it will get you away from here. Harry Potter must go home."
Dobby thought his Bludger would surely make Harry Potter understand...
"Your Bludger?" Harry instantly thought of the incident on the field, and his anger flared up immediately. "You're the one who sent that Bludger chasing me?"
Although Gryffindor didn't lose as badly today thanks to that Bludger, it doesn't mean they should be grateful to Dobby. Nobody wants to be hit hard by a ten-inch iron ball.
Moreover, the iron ball was moving so fast; it was clearly aimed at his life.
Dobby just wanted Harry Potter to get hurt so he could be sent home.
Harry angrily raised his bandaged arm. "You want me to Sectumsempra n't you!"
"You'd better get out of here before my bones grow too big, or I'll strangle you."
"Dobby absolutely did not mean to harm you," Dobby said in a panic. "Dobby remembers what everything was like before Harry Potter defeated that villain whose name cannot even be mentioned."
Keeping House Elf, and Dobby is still considered a pest now.
Dobby spoke, he recalled countless painful memories, covered his face with his burned hands and wept bitterly, then wiped his nose with his rotten, rancid clothes.
Seeing his expression, Harry calmed down and looked at him with some sympathy, asking, "Why are you wearing that, Dobby?"
"This is a symbol of House Elf slave. Only when the elves give Dobby clothes can Dobby gain his freedom."
Harry opened his mouth, but couldn't find the words to comfort him.
Although he and Lucius Malfoy had only met a few times, he seemed far more sinister than his son, Dobby might never be able to escape the Malfoy family.
Just then, the sound of a door opening came from downstairs. Dobby immediately jumped to the window and whispered, "Something terrible is about to happen at Hogwarts. Harry Potter absolutely cannot stay here."
History was about to repeat itself, and the Chamber of Secrets was opened once again.
Harry wanted to ask something more, but the footsteps grew closer.
Dobby snapped his fingers immediately, his body vanishing in a puff of smoke. Harry quickly lay down on the bed, pulling the covers over his head and pretending to be asleep.
A moment later, Dumbledore came in, and behind him, Aaron and Professor McGonagall carefully carried Colin to a bed.
"Minerva," Dumbledore said in a low voice, "Go and call Madam Pomfrey."
Professor McGonagall nodded and quickly walked out of the room.
"Gaius, let's take this time to talk."
This isn't suspicion; it's to clear your name, since you were the first to discover him, and there's no one else around.
Aaron pursed his lips, knowing he couldn't escape this round of questioning.
"Professor, please ask whatever you want."
I will definitely answer all your questions to the best of my ability.
Where were you when Creevey was attacked?
"I had just returned the book and had not been out of the library for long at that time. Madam Pince can vouch for me."
I was only about ten meters away from Colin when I heard him scream.
"Go on!" Dumbledore's eyes narrowed slightly. "Did you see what attacked him?"
"No," Aaron said without hesitation. "He turned a corner, and I didn't see anything."
"Understood, thank you for your cooperation, Gaius Sr."
"Of course," Aaron said somewhat embarrassedly. "By the way, Professor, I hope you can vouch for me in this matter?"
I know I'm innocent, but the others at school don't. If they find out I was at the scene when Colin got into trouble, they might spread rumors.
Dumbledore hesitated for a moment, then said thoughtfully, "I will protect it, but..."
"Don't worry, no one else saw us when we arrived."
"I will speak to Professor McGonagall."
"Thanks!"
Soon, Professor McGonagall arrived, followed by Madam Pomfrey was wearing a red coat.
"What's going on?"
"Another attack."
I checked; he was stoned, just like Mrs. Norris.
Professor McGonagall noticed the camera in Colin's hand and asked anxiously, "Could he have taken pictures of the attack?"
Dumbledore bent down, pried open Colin's stiff fingers, and took out the camera.
He pried open the back cover of the camera, and before he could even take out the film, a pungent smell wafted out, followed by a brilliant spark.
"It's melted, it's all melted," Madam Pomfrey exclaimed in astonishment.
"What does this mean, Albus?" Professor McGonagall asked.
"This means that the Secret Chamber has indeed been opened."
"It also means danger," Aaron interjected. "Muggle-born wizard and Half-blood Warlock are no longer safe."
"Aaron, have you discovered something?"
"Minerva." Dumbledore shook his head slightly at her. "At least in my opinion, Mr. Gaius is not a suspect at this moment."
"Professor, I am truly innocent," Aaron said seriously. Seeing the doubt in Professor McGonagall's eyes, he sighed helplessly. "I know this is not very convincing. You know me. If I were the Heir of Slytherin, you would not have seen me at the crime scene."
Upon hearing this, Professor McGonagall hesitated for a moment, unsure whether to believe it or not.
Aaron is right; with his intelligence, it's impossible for him to expose himself.
The problem is that he was at the scene of both attacks, which is too much of a coincidence.
"McGonagall, promise me you'll keep this a secret for now."
We cannot let unfounded suspicions affect a child's learning and life.
"What did the instructor say?"
"Tell them the truth, tell them that Hogwarts is no longer safe."
The next day, Harry opened his eyes and felt the winter sun shining warmly on the bed.
He could feel that his arm was mostly fine; the bone had grown back, but it was a bit stiff and needed to be moved around.
Madam Pomfrey came over with a breakfast tray and then examined his arms and fingers. "You look good. You can leave after you finish your meal."
With trembling hands that had just recovered, Harry used a spoon to eat porridge. After more than ten minutes, he changed his clothes and walked out of the Hospital Wing.
As he passed Colin's bed, he couldn't help but turn his head away. Unfortunately, Colin's bed was completely blocked by a dark curtain, and he couldn't see Colin's condition at all.
Recalling everything he had heard last night, he quickened his pace and returned to the Gryffindor Common Room.
"Harry, your arm is all better," Wood said with some relief. "Yesterday's match was a pity, but don't feel pressured. You did a great job."
This time we were unprepared, and next time Slytherin's tactics won't work. I already have some ideas.
"Let's not talk about that now. Aren't Hermione and Ron in the common room?"
"They went to the library for Lockhart's assignment; it seems the Weasley family ' younger brother wants to take inspiration from Granger's work."
But don't worry, Lockhart wants you to recover properly, so he's exempted you from your homework.
"This is the best news I've heard in days," Harry said, and went to the library without hesitation.
He easily found Ron and Hermione in the area where the three of them often stayed.
Hermione held a thick history book, glancing at the person opposite her every now and then while flipping through it, while Ron was writing furiously, ignoring the resentful look.
"Harry," Hermione asked with some delight, "How's your arm?"
"He's almost fully recovered."
"You've actually turned misfortune into blessing, at least you don't have to do homework."
How dare you say that?
It's bad enough that they stubbornly copy my homework, but they do it intermittently, and their handwriting is huge and ugly.
"Judging from what you said, I can tell you've never copied homework before. Only inexperienced people copy everything word for word."
Furthermore, it's not that I didn't write anything; I just borrowed some parts.
Hermione rolled her eyes; she had no desire to argue with a slacker about techniques for copying homework.
"Listen to me first." Harry glanced around nervously to make sure no one was around before sitting down and telling the two what he had heard last night, including Dobby's visit to him.
After hearing this, Ron's expression became somewhat complicated. "So, Aaron's suspicion has now really surpassed Malfoy's?"
"I'm afraid so."
"But this..." Hermione still couldn't believe it. "This is impossible! How could this be?"
"Hermione, I don't want to believe it's him either, but facts speak louder than words."
"This is the third coincidence. Too many coincidences aren't coincidences anymore," Harry said anxiously. "Colin is already petrified; who knows who'll be next?"
"But we can't prove it either," Ron said. "According to you, without evidence, Dumbledore might not be able to do anything to him."
"So I came to find you after I was discharged from the hospital." Harry looked at Hermione, who was silent, and asked with some difficulty, "Do you have any ideas?"
"I... I might..." Hermione hesitated for a moment, then slowly shook her head, "I might not be able to help either."
Harry and Ron exchanged a glance; her behavior made it hard to believe she couldn't do it.
"I know you believe in him more than anyone else, and this matter is of great importance."
If we trust and neglect them, Half-blood and Muggle-born wizard at Hogwarts will be doomed.
"Well..." Ron looked at Hermione with some difficulty, "You may not like to hear this, but Harry and I are Pure-blood, while you are Muggle-born."
