The Chance to Pull Hair
Aaron stood helplessly on the ring, unconsciously touching the ring on his left hand.
He has now reached the level of a beginner-level Magus, and this ring will seal half of his Magical Energy, suppressing his power to the level of a beginner -High-level Mage.
Even so, he still felt it was a bit unfair to deal with Harry, a Intermediate Wizard.
Aaron looked at Harry across from him and shrugged. "Actually, I didn't want to go up on stage, but since I'm here, there's no reason for me to lose."
But don't worry, I'll try my best to go easy on you.
"I never thought my opponent would be you." Harry said nervously, sounding somewhat strained. "I originally thought my target was Malfoy."
Lockhart grinned widely at this, "Harry, I can arrange another match for you and Malfoy later."
Now, all you need to do is concentrate fully and defeat your opponent.
"Thank you, Professor."
"Wand ready"
The two gradually distanced themselves, raising their Wand over their shoulders in an attacking motion.
"Count down three times, cast the spell to disarm the opponent," Lockhart emphasized. "It's just to disarm them; we don't want any accidents."
one two three."
"Expelliarmus."
Aaron and Harry simultaneously chanted the spell, and silver light flew from their respective Wand.
Without any suspense, Aaron's spell was more powerful, absorbing Harry's spell in less than a second and knocking the Wand from his hand.
Harry staggered back a few steps before regaining his balance, but felt a great sense of relief.
It didn't hurt, and I wasn't knocked off the ring like Lockhart did.
"I won." Aaron put away his Wand and stepped off the stage with a carefree air.
Snape nodded in satisfaction from the audience, a slight smile appearing on his perpetually cold face.
"Very good," Lockhart clapped. "They are very skilled at using Disarming Charm."
"Malfoy, it's your turn." Snape winked at Draco, signaling him to press his advantage and teach Harry Potter a lesson.
"Wait a moment, wait a moment," Lockhart stepped forward and said. "I personally think this duel should be postponed. Mr. Potter needs to rest now."
Draco was somewhat reluctant, but before he could say anything, Aaron stopped him with a look.
"Professor, I'll give you face. After all, Slytherin wouldn't bully an injured person."
Harry glared at him fiercely, feeling very resentful, but for the sake of them, he temporarily suppressed his anger.
I'll let you be smug for a while, but when you're pulling out your hair later, you'll definitely have to pull out a few more strands.
Lockhart stepped to the center of the ring, glanced at Snape with a hint of panic, and sneered, "I think it's better to face the opponent as if they were from the Academy."
Gryffindor versus Slytherin, Hufflepuff versus Ravenclaw, what do you think?
"Perfect," Snape sneered. "It'll be a good opportunity to see how Slytherin and Gryffindor can duel."
Lockhart looked away, dispelling some of his anxiety, and then looked at the crowd below. "Please volunteer to come up as a pair, but please note that you cannot be students from the same academy."
Soon, all sorts of colors appeared on the arena.
Only a few groups used the Disarming Charm as Lockhart instructed; most students were using the arena to test their magical abilities, though some students possessed special magical abilities.
Hermione chose Crabbe as her opponent. After several rounds of fighting, she used the Aguamenti to wash his hair and then pretended to accidentally drop her Wand on the ground, picking up a few strands of hair.
Ron chose Goyle as his opponent, but perhaps he used too much force when casting the spell, because the green light bounced back directly onto him, knocking him out of the ring.
Goyle Erqi went to the edge of the ring and began to laugh openly.
Ron angrily returned to the ring, this time abandoning his unreliable Wand and pouncing on Goyle, punching and kicking him.
However, Goyle was bigger, and although he was caught off guard at first, he quickly used his physical advantage to suppress Ron and clamped his head tightly.
Harry immediately went up and separated the two of them, then yanked Goyle on the head, making him wince in pain.
The three met in a corner of the Great Hall. Hermione proudly held up a few strands of black hair in her hand. "I got them, Crabbe's hair. What about you guys?"
"Got it." Harry stuffed a few strands of short hair into Ron's hand. "It took me a lot of effort to get them off."
"Let me tell you, if this hair isn't disinfected, I won't even drink the Polyjuice Potion decoction."
"It's good enough that there is one, and you're still complaining." Hermione rolled her eyes. "Only Malfoy is left."
Harry nodded and turned his gaze to the other side of the ring, where Draco was busy berating his two henchmen, looking particularly angry.
Crabbe could accept losing, after all, Hermione was a top student and quite capable.
But Goyle disappointed him; a Weasley without Wand could actually fight him to a standstill, which was simply a disgrace to Slytherin.
In the next duel, some people were hit by the Tickling Charm, laughing uncontrollably and becoming limp all over; others were hit by the dancing curse, their legs twitching incessantly, and they started dancing in the Great Hall.
This is considered a relatively good situation. There are also students who were hit by powerful spells and were injured and bleeding. Two students were also hit by the opponent's Petrification Spell at the same time and fell flat on the stage.
The scene became increasingly chaotic, and Lockhart began to panic.
But he was clearly powerless to stop it all, and could only stand by and say things like "be careful," "watch out," "don't be careless," and "stand up."
If Professor Snape hadn't used the Finite Incantatem in time to break the spells, many students would likely have suffered even greater harm.
"Professor Lockhart, you really surprise me," Snape sneered. "I remember you and Dumbledore talking about teaching them to stop unfriendly magic, but..."
"But that's precisely why I asked you to be my assistant, Professor Snape," Lockhart said, trying to sound calm. "The Finite Incantatem is such a simple spell, don't I know it?"
But sometimes verbal support is more powerful than magic. These underprivileged students need a strong heart, not powerful magic.
Snape raised an eyebrow. He instinctively felt Lockhart was talking nonsense, but the words were so well-said that he couldn't find any fault with them.
"Can I play in the last game?"
I think Draco Malfoy can't wait any longer.
"Brilliant!" Lockhart smiled, inwardly applauding his own quick thinking, and gestured for Harry and Draco to come up on stage.
The two stepped onto opposite sides of the ring at the same time, and as they walked toward the center, they looked at each other with remarkably calm expressions.
Lockhart sensed the silence fall and sneered, "The previous dozens of duels were too complicated. This time, you two will settle the score with the Disarming Charm."
Do you understand the Disarming Charm? Expelliarmus.
Draco grinned maliciously, and Harry remained silent; they both knew this was no ordinary duel.
"Alright, let's get ready!" Lockhart said, stepping off the ring.
"Wait, Professor, can you teach me the Finite Incantatem?" Harry asked somewhat nervously.
This was the time he most hoped Lockhart would be reliable. If Malfoy were to ambush him later, Snape certainly wouldn't save him immediately, and Lockhart might be in serious trouble.
But if he learns this spell, he will have some chance to save himself.
"Um... well, there will be an opportunity," Lockhart said vaguely, walking past Harry without giving him a chance to speak.
Are you scared, Potter?
"You're dreaming!" Harry said through gritted teeth.
The two got into attack stance, Lockhart began to count down. "Three... one."
"Except for you..."
"Sectumsempra."
Malfoy was slightly faster; a pale golden shockwave shot out from the tip of his Wand and struck Harry hard.
Harry felt dizzy and staggered around twice before he could barely regain his senses.
He seized the opportunity and immediately shouted, "Rictusempra!"
A silver beam struck Malfoy in the stomach, sending him crashing to the edge of the ring. The pain in his abdomen made him breathe much faster.
Harry hesitated. Should they follow the rules and wait for Draco to recover, or should they strike while he was still sick and finish him off?
However, Draco clearly didn't give him a chance to think. He quickly raised his Wand and roared, "Serpensortia!"
A black cobra landed on the ring and crawled forward, its forked tongue flicking.
The onlookers screamed and quickly retreated, trying to get as far away from its attack range as possible.
Harry seemed frozen in fear, staring at the snake, completely motionless.
"Don't touch Potter." Snape walked forward calmly. "I'll take care of it."
"Let me do it, Professor Snape," Lockhart said confidently, drawing his Wand before Snape.
He was somewhat grateful to Draco for summoning such a small snake to boost his battle record; compared to the previous duels, banishing the snake clearly left a deeper impression.
" To Alarte Ascendare."
The curse struck the venomous snake, sending it soaring seven or eight meters into the air before it finally fell back down.
This seemed to enrage it, causing it to bare its fangs and stand upright, searching for a target to attack.
"More trouble than it's worth." Aaron rolled his eyes. He really hadn't expected Lockhart to be unable to handle even a snake.
Warlock has lived to the age of thirty, even with poor talent and exhausted potential, can barely reach the level of Intermediate Wizard. However, Lockhart's combat power does not match his age at all; he is roughly equivalent to a level one mage.
In a way, the fact that he has managed to get to where he is today is a testament to his talent.
Just as the venomous snake approached Justin of Hufflepuff, Harry possessed, took a step and uttered an incomprehensible sound.
The venomous snake Time Stop its attack and turned to look at Harry, but its eyes were full of affection.
Professor Snape waved his Wand, and the snake vanished into black smoke.
The crisis was averted, but everyone present was stunned, and their gazes toward Harry were filled with suspicion.
This is the language of snakes, and Salazar Slytherin, one of the Founders of Hogwarts, happened to know this foreign language. Considering the recent rumors about the Secret Chamber of Secrets, they didn't think this was any kind of coincidence.
