Death Omen Before the Start of Term
As the start of Hogwarts drew closer, Harry Potter's workload increased, but Aaron, considering himself a kind-hearted philanthropist, humanely gave him a small bonus.
Harry goes out every day at noon and returns promptly at two o'clock, though he seems somewhat distracted.
"What's wrong with you?" Aaron asked curiously. "You've been acting strangely for the past few days."
"Firebolt," Harry said after a moment's hesitation. "The new Magic Broom in the Quality Quidditch Supplies. I've never seen such a magnificent broom before. It can accelerate from a standstill to 100 miles per hour in ten seconds."
Aaron raised an eyebrow. "You want it?"
"Of course I want to," Harry said instinctively, but a look of frustration quickly crossed his face. "But I can't afford it. The product description says the price is negotiable."
"You have a good sense of self-awareness," Aaron nodded. "Unless you empty your father's estate now, at your current rate of earning money, it will take at least ten years to buy it."
"So long?"
"I have to stop eating and drinking."
Harry gasped. No matter how much he loved Quidditch, he couldn't possibly live like a dog for ten years without eating or drinking.
Hopefully, he can find a high-paying job after graduation, otherwise he'll never get to Flying Broomstick in his life.
"Actually, there are ways to make money quickly," Aaron said, shoving today's Daily Prophet into Harry's hand. "Take a good look."
"Sirius Black Black?" Harry looked at the photo in the newspaper, then looked at Aaron in surprise. "Wait, you're not talking about a bounty, are you?"
"If you capture him, the Ministry of Magic will give you a large sum of money, Firebolt will certainly not be a problem."
"Let's forget about it!" Harry said with a sigh. "At worst, we'll never run into him. It would be such a shame if he killed us."
Hearing him say that, Aaron nodded in satisfaction.
Knowing fear is a good thing; the Ministry of Magic is now particularly worried that Sirius Black will seek revenge on Harry Potter, and this can be seen as him sounding an alarm for Harry in advance.
"Oh, right, I need to take a few hours off," Harry said somewhat sheepishly. "School starts soon, but I haven't bought my Warlock robes and course materials yet."
"Understood." Aaron waved his hand understandingly, then handed the shop over to Jeans, and took Abei to the back room to study.
During this time, he has been focusing his energy on inscribing advanced Magic Array. His proficiency is constantly increasing, and the time required is getting shorter and shorter. He can now complete them in one or two seconds. He is confident that he can perform instant casting before breaking through to the Grand Archmage level. In the future, he will be able to release Elemental Magic comparable to high-difficulty spells at will. Just thinking about it is exciting.
Moreover, he had memorized the basic and intermediate Magic Array so well that he could release them at will, without even needing to draw the Magic Array.
Releasing multiple Magic Array at once is still somewhat difficult for him; he can only improve through practice.
In the afternoon, Harry brought his school supplies and daily necessities for the new school year, but he was in a particularly heavy mood, as if he were possessed by the god of bad luck.
"Mr. Jeans, you are very knowledgeable, do you know about signs of death?" Harry asked nervously.
"Why are you asking this?" Jeans frowned.
"I saw a book cover at Flourish and Blotts and Blotts with a black dog the size of a bear on it. It was the same creature I saw the night I left Privet Drive."
"That might just be a coincidence!" Jeans said nonchalantly. "Maybe you were just looking at a stray dog."
Harry breathed a heavy sigh of relief, though it might be a bit of self-deception, but that's what he really felt.
But Jeans ' next words made him suppress that glimmer of hope.
"There's another possibility: perhaps the death you encounter next is related to that stray dog."
But there's really no need to think so much, otherwise all the Warlock who watch over stray dogs would have a death omen.
Harry forced a smile. "That's the idea."
Where is Aaron?
"He's still inside." Jeans pointed to the door at the back of the shop. "The young master is probably doing his homework. We'd better not disturb him."
"But he's in there for seven or eight hours a day, doesn't he get bored?" Harry asked with some concern.
"Young Master is sensible; he knows what he's doing, and I have no doubt about that."
In addition, there is a professional doctor in the family who will ensure the young master's mental health.
Just then, Aaron came out of the room. "You're here. Have you bought everything you needed?"
"I bought the kimono, but I found that my salary wasn't quite enough." Harry gave an innocent look. "I even made a special trip to Gringotts for that."
"There's nothing we can do about it," Aaron said matter-of-factly. "You've spent a lot of money on enjoying life these days, magic storybooks, Warlock toys, and the worst part is that you even arranged a nutritional supplement for Hedwig."
Ha! Harry Potter, do you think you're rich?
"Well..."
Harry scratched his head sheepishly, unsure how to explain.
This was his first time leaving home, and he unexpectedly succeeded.
The Ministry of Magic did not hold him accountable and instead placed him in the Leaky Cauldron, which allowed him to completely escape the Dursley for three weeks.
Such opportunities don't come around often, and given that this is the famous Diagon Alley in the Warlock world, he had to make the most of the time and have a good time, which inevitably meant spending money.
"This is your own business, I can't interfere, just don't forget your job."
Harry nodded hastily and immediately got to work.
Time flew by and it was the last day of Summer Holiday.
Aaron gave Harry a day off early so he could pack his trunk, in case he missed the train again tomorrow and he wouldn't have the same luck as last semester.
"Young Master, it's lunchtime." Jeans knocked on the door.
A sudden, strong gust of wind swept through the room, but it was deflected to both sides of Jeans, having no effect on him whatsoever.
"That's how it is," Aaron said with a hint of helplessness. "It seems you still have a long way to go to defeat the Butler!"
"Young Master will definitely be able to do it before he comes of age," Jeans said with a smile.
Aaron rolled his eyes, but didn't deny what Jeans said.
He was quite confident in himself. He might not reach the level of Holy Magus before graduation, but he would definitely be one of the best among the Grand Archmage.
"Aaron, we've come to see you."
Harry Potter's voice rang in my ears, and I turned to see him approaching with Ron and Hermione.
"Thank goodness you haven't left yet," Harry said to the two people beside him. "I told you he was definitely still here."
"How did the three of you end up together?" Aaron asked, somewhat surprised.
"My dad said he's staying at the Leaky Cauldron," Ron said casually. "Our family just got back from a trip to Egypt and we happened to be staying at the Leaky Cauldron."
"I arrived this morning and ran into the two of them when I entered the Leaky Cauldron," Hermione said with some delight. "But I didn't expect to see you here too."
Harry said you've been in the shop for about a month; I haven't seen you here before when I came to Diagon Alley.
"That's about half of the Summer Holiday left." Aaron chuckled awkwardly. He had only managed to earn the rest of his vacation free time after completing an interdimensional journey, but he definitely couldn't avoid the cram school next year.
"Have you bought all your school supplies?" Ron asked. "My dad won the Daily Prophet's lottery. He bought all of us siblings brand new school supplies, and he also bought me a brand new Wand, made of willow wood with Unicorn Tail Hair."
"Congratulations." Aaron closed the shop door. "I was just about to have lunch. If you had come a few minutes later, you might not have seen me."
"That's perfect, we can go to the Leaky Cauldron together," Harry suggested. "The Weasley family will be very happy to see you."
"Ah..." Aaron turned his head and gave Jeans a look: You shouldn't have come along in this situation.
After a moment's hesitation, Jeans nodded.
The young master is quite powerful now, so he doesn't need to follow him around all the time.
Besides, this is Diagon Alley, and there are two Archmage protecting us in the shadows, so our safety is guaranteed.
As Aaron stepped out of the shop, he suddenly felt a sense of relief. Although there were still two pieces of chewing gum hidden in the dark, he managed to remove the largest one.
"We need to go to the Magical Menagerie first," Hermione said casually. "My parents left me ten Galleon so I could buy myself a birthday present in advance. I'm planning to buy an owl."
"Should we prepare a gift for you too?" Aaron asked. Harry and Ron, however, felt a bit of a headache. Gifts for girls needed to be carefully considered, and their wallets were never full.
A blush crept across Hermione's face. "Let's wait until my birthday!"
Harry and Ron both breathed a sigh of relief, but then they met Hermione's resentful gaze: What do you mean by this? Is it so difficult to prepare a gift for me?
Noticing the death knell in Hermione's eyes, Harry immediately chuckled and led the way, saying, "The Magical Menagerie is just ahead; I know it very well."
Ron also mentioned his mouse, Scabbers, "I was just about to take it there for a check-up. Scabbers seems to have had some trouble adjusting to Egypt. It's gotten even thinner since we got back and can't even eat."
Hermione rolled her eyes in disgust, silently lamenting her poor choice of friends, before pulling Aaron along to follow behind.
"Where did you go for Summer Holiday?" Hermione asked curiously. "When I called you, your the Mother said you went on a trip."
"It was indeed a meaningful trip," Aaron said with emotion, but he quickly realized something, his heart skipped a beat, and his expression became somewhat uneasy. "My mom didn't say anything else, did she?"
"No, she was just a little too enthusiastic. She even asked about my preferences," Hermione said, counting on her fingers. "Including my favorite foods, colors, scenery, and..."
As she spoke, she noticed Aaron's expression was quite interesting. "Is there a problem?"
"No, not at all." Aaron was on the verge of tears. He thought of the marriage his parents had arranged for him before he left, which he had vehemently refused at the time. But he hadn't expected Lisana to be so unethical. However, he was more worried that his the Mother had contacted more than one girl, and that she was capable of such a thing.
