Selling Badges, Falling into a Trap for No Reason
"No, none of them." Aaron shook his head naturally.
"What?" Hermione's eyes widened in surprise. "You have slave labor in your house too."
"You can't say things like that lightly," Aaron said in a low voice. "Many Warlock families keep House Elf, and if the words 'slave labor' get out..."
"Would I offend a lot of people?" Hermione said nonchalantly.
"You're overthinking it. You'll just be seen as an idiot."
Although I don't mean to discourage you, nobody cares about this kind of thing, not even House Elf.
You want to fight for their rights, but what if they don't even want those rights in the first place?
"That's impossible. Nobody doesn't want a good life."
"That's just how House Elf are," Aaron said speechlessly. "Providing better service to Warlock unconditionally is their greatest pursuit. To them, trying to fight for it is an outright insult."
Of course, I don't deny that there are one or two oddballs in this ethnic group who might fight for their meager rights despite the contempt and indifference of the other ethnic groups...
Aaron abruptly stopped speaking halfway through his sentence, as a pair of angry eyes appeared on the other side of him.
Gollum!
"Um... I mean, you're being completely pointless."
Hermione remained unmoved, simply pushing the box of badges forward a dozen centimeters. "Want to join the Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare?"
"That would make me look stupid, very... cruel," Aaron said with a troubled expression. "I've thought about giving my house- House Elf some preferential treatment before, but when I brought it up, they were heartbroken as if their parents had died, and even felt that they had done something wrong, and started punishing themselves."
"And then?" Hermione asked with great interest.
"Then I gave up. I couldn't force them to accept the treatment given to Fu Yang."
Actually, my house- House Elf are already lucky. At least my family and I don't punish them arbitrarily. Apart from not paying them, we still give them the necessary respect. Aaron said, counting on his fingers, "Clean and decent clothes, warm rooms, and healthy meals every day. We've never neglected them."
In some ways, their treatment is already much better than that of those impoverished people.
Hearing this, Hermione smiled happily and picked out a silver badge from the box. "Now I'd much rather you join House-elf Elf Rights Promotion Association."
Aaron paused for a moment, then said somewhat awkwardly, "Wasn't what I said clear enough?"
"I understand, but that's precisely why I'm inviting you to join," Hermione said bluntly. "I did some research, House-elf's status as a slave dates back centuries."
Many Warlock have mistreated House Elf to date, but the Gaius family's treatment of House Elf could be a short-term goal for us.
The long-term goal is to grant House-elf the right to use Wand and to qualify them for positions within the Department for Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures.
"Excuse me for interrupting," Aaron waved his hand. "Remove the 'we,' don't include me."
Hermione, however, shoved the badge into Aaron's hand without saying a word. "Two Sickle, this is the badge money."
"Uh... if you're short of money, I can lend you some, no interest, I don't need to sell this stuff."
"What are you thinking?" Hermione rolled her eyes. "This is membership fee, to print flyers."
"Sorry, I'm very busy." Aaron pushed the badge back, politely declining.
Hermione hesitated for a moment, "You're just the honorary vice president, I won't ask you what to do."
Aaron sighed and facepalmed. "I've already explained myself to you this clearly, are you not understanding or are you just pretending not to understand?"
"Joining won't hurt you at all," Hermione laughed.
"But there's no benefit to it either." Aaron said bluntly. "Past experience tells me that it's better to avoid trouble. My intuition tells me that this Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare is meaningless. My right eyelid twitches and tells me that this is a minor problem, and I don't want to get involved."
"Alright!" Hermione sighed slightly. "You guessed it, I'm actually here to sell badges."
Aaron chuckled and gave her a thumbs up, saying, "You're amazing, you really are amazing."
"Buy it or not?" Hermione asked smugly, raising an eyebrow.
"Give me the money," Aaron said helplessly.
Abei turned his face away unhappily, rummaged through his pockets for a while with his two paws, and pulled out two Silver Sickle.
"As the vice president..."
"Hmm?" Aaron glared at Hermione. I'll give you one more chance to rephrase your words.
"Ahem! Considering our friendship of over three years, shouldn't you give me a little more support?"
Aaron rolled his eyes in exasperation, Abei, also feeling the pinch, pulled out two Gold Galleons and two Silver Sickle from his pocket and put them together.
If it were just about buying something with money, I would accept it, but now it feels like I'm wasting money.
"Thank you so much, you definitely won't regret it later."
"Hehe! May I ask how many members this so-called Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare has?"
"Two, but soon there will be four," Hermione said confidently. "I plan to have Ron manage the membership fees as treasurer and Harry as secretary to keep records."
Aaron's lips twitched, realizing he had unwittingly jumped into a deep pit.
He was about to say something when Hermione grabbed a few books and quickly left the library, leaving only a silver badge on the table.
"It seems that getting out of this mess won't be so easy." Aaron sighed and put away the silver SPEW badge.
Abei crouched down in front of Aaron. It could sense its owner's helplessness and wanted to comfort him, but didn't know how to say it.
"It's alright, he's just the honorary vice president!"
"Everything will be alright... I think!"
Having inexplicably joined a club with no future, Aaron lost interest in practicing Magic Array and carried Abei back to the Slytherin common room.
Divine Thunder Hall, the Thought Form was experimenting with the performance of Flintlock Pistol.
As for the target, it was a Monolith made of earth elemental Elemental Magic, and he even specially engraved a high-level Defense Magic Array on it.
As magic continued to flow into the gun, the golden ridges on both sides became even more dazzling.
The bullet was fired from the muzzle, and the round marble spun around and hit the Monolith in an instant.
A yellow Defense Magic Array immediately appeared, resisting the strong impact of the bullets.
Click!
Debris flew everywhere, followed by an explosion. The Magic Array shattered at an extremely fast speed, and a large gap was punched into the Monolith.
After piercing the Monolith, the bullet stopped advancing and crashed straight into the wall of the Divine Thunder Hall.
A more complex Magic Array appeared, but after a brief stalemate, the circular bullet was crushed into dust by this magic power.
"My marksmanship is still pretty good," Aaron said smugly.
"This is the maximum power this gun can currently achieve, somewhere between advanced and Ultimate Elemental Magic. Each shot consumes about one-tenth of my Magical Energy. If we combine, the consumption will be much less."
The Argus Ancestor's assessment was accurate: one can wound a dragon, but cannot kill it.
Abei turned her face away unhappily, seemingly quite disgusted by the comparison with her master, Ryu.
"We weren't talking about you; we were just talking about ordinary dragons."
"You are currently just a juvenile. This gun can still pierce your Dragon Scale. After you reach the juvenile stage, this gun will pose no threat to you."
Abei poked at itself with its paws in frustration. That being said, it would be a long time before it could truly live.
Its potential far exceeds that of ordinary dragons, but its growth rate is exceptionally slow. Even with its owner's occasional attempts to 'help it grow faster,' it is still only in the juvenile stage.
Aaron picked Abei up and said, "Don't think too much. There's a long road ahead. With me by your side, you'll grow up much faster."
Abei nodded eagerly, without a doubt.
"You've tried it too, do you have any suggestions for improvement?"
"Hmm... I don't have any suggestions for modification. The craftsmanship of our Argus Ancestor is impeccable." The Thought Form pondered for a moment and then said, "The gun is fine, but the bullets are a different story."
Ordinary bullets can barely be replaced by Transfiguration, after all, this is Magic Firearms.
Special bullets require special materials and special manufacturing methods, which consumes a lot of resources.
"I'll find the materials for the bullets when I have time," Aaron said. He wasn't in a hurry, and he couldn't get the gun at this stage anyway.
"That's good. I will dedicate some of my time to learning about enchanting and gun maintenance."
However, there's still a small problem. "This gun needs a resounding name," the Thought Form- be chuckled hesitantly. "After all, it's our first weapon; it can't be left without a name!"
"That's true!" Aaron scratched his head. "We need to think about the name carefully."
Okay, you think of some suitable ones, and let me know when they're available so I can choose.
The expression on the face of the Thought Form immediately darkened. "Why do you think I'm telling you this? Isn't it just because the name is hard to come up with?"
Besides, we have similar personalities and thoughts. Do I need to inform you if I think a suitable name is appropriate?
"Uh... don't be so formal, there might be something that makes you feel conflicted!"
Ultimately, the decision will still be mine to make.
"I know myself well," the Thought Form said impatiently. "When I'm conflicted, I just flip a coin."
"You should let me know." Aaron smiled awkwardly, then asked, "How's the homework Professor Trelawney assigned coming along?"
"All done." The Thought Form said easily, taking a roll of parchment from the shelf next to it.
"How did you manage to do it?"
The Thought Form didn't speak, but simply pointed to a Crystal Ball on a table.
Aaron's lips twitched slightly. "As expected of me, my Divination and predictions have influenced the planetary movements of the future."
You didn't Divination anything else, did you? Like the Goblet of Fire.
No, this time it's really weird, extremely weird.
Furthermore, the Divination results indicate that this month will be very stable for us.
