Last Words, Just in Time
Sizzle~
The three Death Eater lay on the ground, twitching occasionally, their charred bodies emitting a disgusting stench.
"The Ghost Crystal, the Thunderbird Tail Feather, triple enchanted. It was worth all the effort I put into making this bullet."
But I'm really out of energy now, you guys win.
Aaron gave a bitter laugh and lay down on the ground without any grace.
It seemed they were planning to give up and surrender, but the remaining dozen or so Death Eater looked at each other, not daring to approach.
After all, the lessons learned from the past are still there.
One was eager to claim credit, showing impatience, and died rashly afterward.
The other three were a bit more cautious, casting Stunning Spell from a distance, but the results weren't much better; they probably wouldn't recover for at least a year or two.
Lucius hesitated for a moment, then strode up to Aaron and confiscated his Wand and Flintlock Gun.
"I can only do my best to ensure you don't get hurt; there's nothing else I can do to help you."
"Should I thank you?" Aaron rolled his eyes.
"Of course, this is for my son's sake." Lucius said, pulling him up from the ground and mouthing the word "position" to the others with his back to them.
Aaron immediately understood. Lucius meant that he would find out where Aaron was being held, and then have someone notify the Gaius family, at which point someone would come to rescue him.
Lucius led Aaron to Voldemort, then stood respectfully to the side without saying a word.
Cedric, Phoebe, and Viktor were also brought here by Barty Crouch Jr. Crouch Jr., and although they were also tied to pillars, they were treated better than Harry.
"Well done, Lucius," Voldemort said meaningfully. "Even if your loyalty to me has never wavered, your abilities have greatly disappointed me. Thirteen years have yielded no results."
"But Voldemort doesn't go back on his word. The debts of the past thirteen years are wiped clean. What reward do you want?"
"Your subordinate dares not ask for anything, only wishes to fulfill Master's orders and realize our demonic path as soon as possible."
"You're quite the smooth talker, but I like hearing that," Voldemort chuckled, then walked up to Aaron. "A fifteen-year-old student, yet he caused more than a third of my men to be killed or wounded. That's quite remarkable."
"You flatter me," Aaron said weakly. "Your men are probably nothing compared to the Death Eater!"
Their Magic Power certainly meets the standards of Archmage, but their combat strength is generally weak.
"Haha, what you said isn't wrong."
More than a decade of peaceful life had made them almost forget how to fight, and even their magic power had not increased much. They could only bully Warlock who were weaker than them.
The true elite of the Death Eater should be in Azkaban now; I'll bring them out soon.
"Wow!" Aaron shrugged dismissively. "Good luck."
Voldemort nodded, then approached Aaron and used his Wand to make him look at the four bound men. "You now have one of your few powers to witness their deaths."
Choose one! Who will die first?
"Harry Potter".
What?
Harry's eyes widened; he knew this moment was bound to come sooner or later...
Do you really need to be so hasty? You should at least hesitate a little!
"Harry Potter is definitely out of the question. If I were the Dark Lord, I would save him for last." Aaron for a while and looked at Krum. "How about him?"
He's all brawn and no brains; I've disliked him for a long time.
"As you wish," Voldemort sneered.
Barty Crouch Jr. immediately raised his Wand and pointed it at Krum, whose eyes were closed. "Goodbye, Great Star."
Avada Kedavra...
"Wait a minute." Aaron took a deep breath. "I suddenly remembered that I owe him a small favor. Let's postpone his death for a few more seconds!"
How is Cedric?
His father is the Director of the Department for Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures at the Ministry of Magic, which is quite a high-ranking and powerful position.
Using him as a sacrifice to announce the Dark Lord's return is perfectly appropriate.
"I didn't even know I had this function," Cedric said with a wry smile. "But my father will stand firmly on the side of resisting the Dark Lord."
"Then it's him," said Barty Crouch Jr., raising his Wand. "Avada Kedavra ..."
"Wait a mininute."
Barty Crouch Jr.'s anger flared up immediately. "Don't forget you're just a prisoner."
"Who knows, I might even be the successor to the Dark Lord?"
Maybe I'll agree, so be polite to me.
"You..."
"Make your decision quickly, Gaius," Voldemort said impatiently. "You need to experience the feeling of controlling the lives and deaths of others; it will help you make the right choice."
"You can choose none of them, or you can submit to me now and I will spare their lives immediately."
"Including Harry Potter?"
Voldemort sneered, "You can only decide the fate of those three; Harry Potter is not included."
"That's not very interesting," Aaron rolled his eyes, speechless. "I don't know them well, there's no need for me to sign a contract of servitude just to save them."
So... if you're going to kill, then kill. Don't make me choose between them!
"Then ladies first!" Voldemort raised his Wand meaningfully.
Phoebe kept her eyes closed and remained remarkably calm, seemingly accepting her fate.
"This is not right, this is really not right." Aaron hurriedly interrupted Voldemort, "She owes me several favors, it would be a shame if she died like this."
"It seems Mr. Gaius still has some hope for Dumbledore!" Voldemort shook his head regretfully. "Even now, he's still trying to stall for time."
"It's nothing," Aaron said with a sheepish grin.
"Barty Crouch Jr., show him with your actions that he shouldn't try such petty tricks."
"Yes, sir." Barty Crouch Barty Crouch Jr.. gave Aaron a provocative look and teased, "I'm quite good at this kind of thing. I still vividly remember the screams of the Longbottoms."
"Cruciatus Curse!"
"Ah..."
Phoebe screamed in agony, her voice incredibly shrill and mournful.
She had never felt such intense pain before, as if countless red-hot peppers were slicing across every inch of her skin.
"Stop." Aaron said bitterly, "I choose, I choose, okay?"
Barty Crouch Jr. Crouch., still savoring the moment, put down his Wand. "If you had done this earlier, none of this would have happened."
Aaron looked at Phoebe and said with some difficulty, "I'm sorry, perhaps the only thing I can do now is to let you die a quick and painless death."
Phoebe nodded blankly; the Cruciatus Curse was truly something no human could withstand.
"Krum, do you have any last words?"
If I have the chance in the future, I will pass on your message.
"Please tell Hermione Granger..."
"Okay, I understand."
"Don't speak yet. Don't think too much before you die." Aaron interrupted him, then looked at Cedric, "Um... do you have any last words?"
"Give my body to my father," Cedric said seriously.
I'll try my best.
"Have you finished confessing?" Barty Crouch Jr. said calmly. "This is the first time I've ever been so hesitant when committing murder."
"Just say one more word." Aaron sighed, then walked up to Phoebe. "You..."
"Tell Gabrielle not to be too sad," Phoebe blurted out. "I, as her older sister, can't take care of her anymore."
"Please close your eyes and don't open them." Aaron took a deep breath, turned his back to Phoebe, and pointed his thumb behind him. "Phoebe Delacour, she goes first."
Barty Crouch Jr. Crouch. chuckled coldly, "Avada Kedavra!"
"Water Mirror!"
A row of red, yellow, and blue Magic Array blocked Phoebe's path.
The green Killing Curse struck the Magic Array, and after a brief stalemate, its direction began to shift slightly, even showing signs of turning back.
Barty Crouch Jr. raised an eyebrow, intensified his spellcasting, and unleashed an even more powerful magical attack on the Magic Array.
Aaron's hands trembled incessantly. The little magic power that his Thought Form had just regained was completely drained by him, and now he was truly struggling in his death throes.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The three Magic Array shattered one after another, but the Killing Curse also deviated from its course and was reflected back onto a tombstone.
"Not bad magic," Voldemort exclaimed. "It can even deflect the Killing Curse. It's a pity your magic power is not enough, otherwise my servant would have died under his spell."
"I originally intended to keep this magic for my own Apparition," Aaron said with a helpless, bitter smile. "But in the end, I couldn't just stand by and watch them die."
"You can rest assured that the place where you are being held cannot be used for Apparition."
"Barty Crouch Jr., Mr. Gaius is very resistant to making a choice, so you'd better do it!"
"Yes, Master."
Barty Crouch Jr. smiled coldly and unleashed a Killing Curse straight at Delacour.
Aaron gritted his teeth, stood in front of her, and then tightly closed his eyes.
"No!"
Voldemort roared in fury.
Barty Crouch Jr. was also extremely flustered. Voldemort valued Aaron highly, and if he died like this, he might suffer some kind of punishment.
Just then, a dazzling white light appeared in front of Aaron, repelling the Killing Curse and sending Barty Crouch Jr. flying.
At the same time, six other figures landed around Aaron, forming a circle to protect him.
The unexpected scene gave the bound group a glimmer of hope. They didn't know who the newcomer was, but the fact that he could drive back the Death Eater meant he was definitely on their side.
"Who are you people?" Voldemort asked coldly. He could sense that these people were not weak; any one of them could probably take on three Death Eater single-handedly.
Especially the one leading the group, who actually made him feel a sense of danger.
"Nice to meet you, Voldemort," Jeans said politely. "We are not your enemies; we have come here solely to ensure your safety, young master."
After saying that, Jeans turned to Aaron and said, "Young Master, we're not too late, are we? It was a close call!"
