A Letter That Shocked Everyone, Gryffindor's Prophecy Prodigy
Harry and Ron sat absentmindedly in their chairs; the former was in poor condition, while the latter was in even worse condition.
Ron initially thought that Harry had just had a nightmare, and although the content wasn't very auspicious, he didn't take it seriously.
But judging from Dumbledore's behavior now, this nightmare is very likely real. His own body is seriously injured, and even in danger of death. How can he not be at ease?
"Dumbledore." Everard appeared in the frame, looking a little out of breath.
"How's it going?"
"We found him. He looked bad; he was covered in blood."
"But we arrived just in time, so he'll pull through. Also, the Dark Lord didn't get his hands on that thing."
Where is Dilys?
"He's here." The silver-haired witch sat in the leather chair in the picture frame. "They've taken him to St Mungo's Hospital for treatment. He looks very bad. I reckon he'll be in bed for at least half a month."
"Thank God." Dumbledore a slight sigh of relief, and Harry and Ron's tense nerves also relaxed a bit.
Mr. Weasley was indeed attacked, but he was not in mortal danger, nor did he lose any limbs. He recovered in a little over two weeks, which was a stroke of good luck amidst misfortune.
"Phineas".
Dumbledore walked up to a portrait of a wizard with a goatee and dressed in Slytherin attire.
He seemed to be sleeping soundly, Dumbledore times before he reluctantly opened his eyes.
"I need you to go back to that portrait of yours."
"No, Dumbledore, I'm too tired," Phineas said with difficulty.
Upon hearing this, the other portraits of past Hogwarts headmasters and headmistresses appeared particularly angry, and they all began to berate them for their incompetence.
"Disobedience and dereliction of duty."
"We have an obligation to serve the current Hogwarts Headmaster."
"Shameless, Phineas."
Do I need to persuade him?
"Fine! I'll go, I'll go, okay?" Phineas said helplessly. "But he may have already destroyed my portrait."
"No, Sirius Black won't destroy your portrait," Dumbledore great certainty. "I need you to tell him that Arthur is very badly injured, and that his wife, children, and Harry Potter will be at his house soon."
"Okay, okay," Phineas said lazily, then disappeared into the photo frame.
At that moment, the door to the Headmaster's Office opened again, and Professor McGonagall led George, Fred, and Ginny in. They were still wearing their pajamas, their hair was disheveled, and their expressions were filled with worry and fear.
"What exactly happened?" Fred asked, looking at the two of them. "Is it true that Professor McGonagall said Dad is injured?"
"It's true, he was just taken to St Mungo's Hospital, but his life isn't in danger." Ron said in a low voice, "I was sleeping soundly tonight when an alarm clock rang next to my ear, and then..."
At this point, Ron suddenly paused and pulled an anonymous letter from his pocket.
"What is this?" Professor McGonagall asked.
"The alarm that woke me up was probably some student's prank!" Ron said with a wry smile. "But I'm actually quite grateful to that student, otherwise I wouldn't have known that Harry was having a nightmare, which would have wasted some time."
He opened the envelope, initially unconcerned, but the next moment he was horrified and involuntarily stood up. "Wortefa!"
Harry leaned closer for a look, then froze in astonishment. "This, this, this is fake, isn't it?"
Professor McGonagall took the envelope from his hand and read aloud the two words on it, "Weasley's life is in danger."
Furthermore, this is not a prank; if you don't believe me... then you're on your own.
After he finished speaking, everyone looked at each other in disbelief.
"Ron, think carefully about who gave you this letter," Professor McGonagall asked seriously.
"I...I really don't know," Ron stammered. "I didn't see it before I went to sleep, and all the windows in our dorm are closed, so the owl can't fly in."
"But how do we explain this letter?" Ginny asked, puzzled. "It can't be that someone slipped it into your bed in the middle of the night, can it? Even if someone could do that, isn't the content on it a bit... outrageous?"
"Let me see it," Dumbledore said, and Professor McGonagall immediately placed the letter on Dumbledore's desk.
He tapped his Wand lightly on the parchment, but nothing changed.
"Strange, this is just ordinary parchment, and it only has one magic spell on it, which is... a simple alarm clock."
"Is there a problem with this?" Harry asked, seemingly puzzled.
"This means the letter wasn't prepared in advance," Professor McGonagall said in a deep voice. "Albus, someone broke into their dormitory while they were sleeping and left this letter there."
"I think so too," Dumbledore said. "Judging from the time he set the alarm, this must have happened within an hour."
"But who is it?" Ron asked, unable to answer.
"I don't know." Professor McGonagall shook her head regretfully. "I recognize everyone's handwriting at Hogwarts, but this is the first time I've seen the handwriting on this letter. It looks a bit... awkward."
All I can say is that this person is very cautious, extremely cautious.
Fred seemed to have thought of something. "This person is from our college, but he doesn't want us to know who he is?"
Is that how I understand it, Professor?
Professor McGonagall did not deny it, but a faint look of joy appeared in her eyes. "I never expected that Gryffindor would have such a talent. I, as the Dean, didn't even know."
"Talented?" Harry was taken aback. "Just because of this letter?"
"It's the content above," Professor McGonagall said, unable to hide her excitement. "This requires top-tier Prophecy talent to achieve."
"Dumbledore, we must find him; this child is too important."
"But he's using this method to send messages in order to hide his identity!" George said.
"I know I wouldn't normally do this, but the situation is not optimistic right now, and a Oracle can give us a certain advantage."
"We have Professor Trelawney, Minerva," Dumbledore reminded him. "Her Prophecy have been remarkably accurate."
Professor McGonagall curled her lip, unimpressed.
Harry and Ron exchanged a glance, silently supporting Professor McGonagall in their hearts.
They disliked Professor Trelawney, who was Celestials and eccentric; in contrast, the unknown classmate who helped them was much more likely to win their favor.
"I have arrived." Phineas appeared in his picture frame. "My great-grandson said welcome; he has a strange habit of inviting people to stay overnight."
"You lot," Dumbledore beckoned, "I'll take you to Sirius Black's place; it's easier to get to St Mungo's Hospital from there than from the Burrow."
"How do we get there?" Fred asked worriedly. "Floo Powder? But the Floo Network probably isn't working now!"
"Umbridge did monitor Hogwarts ' Floo Network, but she can't monitor it with Portkey," Dumbledore reassured him, then took out a black teapot. "This is Portkey. We need to teleport you away before Umbridge finds out you've left your beds."
Harry, Ron, and the others gathered around Dumbledore and placed their hands on the teapot.
"I count to three, one, two... three."
As soon as the word 'three' was uttered, Dumbledore activated the Portkey, and the group immediately felt dizzy and disoriented.
The teapot carried them swiftly through the space, disappearing from their original spot in the blink of an eye.
Dumbledore sat down in his chair with a sigh, looking at Professor McGonagall across from him, who also had a worried expression. "Voldemort will find out soon. We can't wait any longer."
After the Christmas holidays, let Severus get ready!
"I have no objection to that, Albus."
But are we the owners of this letter...?
"Minerva, I don't want to involve the students. You understand what I mean."
"I know," Professor McGonagall said thoughtfully. "This student is clearly Gryffindor, and as the Headmaster, I have a duty to understand his abilities."
Besides, I'm not asking him to directly join the fight against Voldemort; I'm just letting him know when he makes a valid Prophecy. He's much more reliable than Trelawney."
"That's also very dangerous. Once the Dark Lord's forces learn of this student's existence, his life could be in danger at any time."
"You can swear Fidelity Charm, or an Unbreakable Vow," Professor McGonagall said firmly. "I care about my students no less than you do, and I assure you that his identity will not be revealed."
Dumbledore silent, still opposing the idea.
"Alright then!" Professor McGonagall took a deep breath. "I'll talk to this student. If he's unwilling, then pretend I said nothing."
Seeing that Dumbledore silent, Professor McGonagall grew increasingly anxious. "Dumbledore, I understand your predicament, but you must also consider the safety of the Order of the Phoenix Society members!"
"If this letter hadn't woken Ron up in time, he might not have discovered Harry's nightmare; if we had arrived a few minutes later, it's hard to say whether Arthur would have received timely treatment."
Dumbledore's pupils twitched slightly, as if he had been persuaded by Professor McGonagall.
"I approve your request to find him. After you find him, do not act rashly. Act as if nothing happened."
I will find a suitable time to talk to him in person.
Professor McGonagall immediately nodded with delight. Persuading Dumbledore was already a very difficult step; any more and it would have crossed his bottom line.
The next day, the students who were preparing to spend Christmas at home packed their luggage.
Professor McGonagall arrived at Harry's dormitory early in the morning. She pointed her Wand at the ground, trying to reconstruct the footprints of the students who entered the room the night before.
Unfortunately, apart from her and the students in this dormitory, no one else's footprints could be found.
Professor McGonagall sighed with some disappointment. Although Gryffindor had won the House Cup and the Quidditch Cup in recent years, they had always been overshadowed by Aaron Gaius of Slytherin in terms of outstanding students, and even Hermione was far inferior to him.
This resulted in her, as the head of Gryffindor, feeling somewhat inferior to Severus Snape, the head of Slytherin, in terms of teaching.
Now that she's finally managed to find a talented Warlock, one with the rare gift of Prophecy, she can't even find him. That's a bit disheartening.
"Professor McGonagall?" Hermione appeared in the doorway, looking at her with surprise. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm looking for someone," Professor McGonagall said absentmindedly. "But I didn't find him; he's hiding quite well."
"Looking for Harry?" Hermione asked tentatively. "I haven't seen him this morning, and Ron is missing too."
"Then you don't need to bother. They left last night, along with Fred, George, and Ginny."
Hermione frowned slightly, instinctively sensing that something was wrong. "What happened?"
Professor McGonagall stared at Hermione, hesitated for a long time, and then decided to tell her what had happened last night.
Hermione is, after all, a prospective member of the Order of the Phoenix Society, so it's not a big deal for her to know some things.
Moreover, given her relationship with Harry and the others, she would find out what happened by the time she arrived at 12 Grimmauld Place.
Hermione was momentarily stunned after hearing this. "You mean Harry dreamt that Mr. Weasley was attacked by a giant snake? That's exactly what happened."
"That's right, Arthur is still lying in St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries, but he's not in any danger."
Harry, the others, and Molly will look after him.
"So you've come here to find the person who delivered the message to Ron?"
Professor McGonagall nodded in agreement. "A Gryffindor with exceptional Prophecy talent is extremely important. If possible, I would like to persuade him to join the Phoenix Society."
"Isn't this too hasty?" Hermione frowned slightly, feeling somewhat unconvinced.
They had wanted to join the Phoenix Society during their holidays but hadn't succeeded until a stranger beat them to it.
"Dumbledore also suggested that we investigate first, otherwise nothing can be discussed."
"Is it that hard to find?" Hermione asked in surprise. "You can't even find him?"
"I'm afraid we won't be able to find it anytime soon," Professor McGonagall said dejectedly. "There were no footprints, the letters were very ordinary, and even the handwriting was deliberately forged."
Hermione's lips twitched slightly. "So you mean there are absolutely no clues?"
"Almost there, but we still need to find a way to find one!"
It would be great if there were any eyewitnesses, but it's the middle of the night, so I doubt anyone saw anything.
"Wait a minute," Hermione suddenly said, "Professor, you just said eyewitness account?"
"Do you know anyone who watches TV shows?" A glimmer of hope appeared in Professor McGonagall's eyes.
"We might not have any people, but..." Hermione paused, then pointed apologetically to Harry's birdcage, inside which a snowy owl blinked blankly. "I wonder if it would work?"
Professor McGonagall paused for a moment, then smiled easily. "Why didn't I think of that? Hedwig is the smartest owl I've ever met; she might be able to find something useful."
She walked up to Hedwig with anticipation and asked softly, "Did anyone else come here last night?"
Hedwig flapped her wings and made a sweet chirping sound.
Professor McGonagall was overjoyed. "Then can you help us find him?"
