Apparition's Destination: A Journey to Godric's Hollow

Aaron—or rather, "Gandalf"—was startled by Ron's reaction, especially since Harry beside him clearly agreed. It left him completely baffled.

How could he have known that Harry and the other two had been making do with every meal these past few days? They just heated up whatever food they had brought and stuffed it into their mouths. It kept them from starving, but it had no real taste to speak of.

Compared to that, the pies, pizza, and milk Gandalf provided had raised the quality of their meals by several levels.

Hermione also let out a small sigh of relief. These things should be enough to shut those two up.

But when it was actually time to eat, she realized she had still underestimated the temptation of good food.

The fragrance filling the air made her mouth water. A girl's restraint kept her from wolfing it down, but she certainly was not eating slowly.

Meanwhile, Harry and Ron chewed more and more slowly, as though the two of them were gnawing on coarse buns while Hermione and Gandalf were enjoying a Manchu Han Imperial Feast. With that kind of contrast, they had no appetite left at all.

"Not bad, right?" Gandalf asked fondly as he watched Hermione finish breakfast.

"Mhm!" Hermione nodded eagerly. "It feels even better than the food at a five-star hotel."

"How could they compare to me?" Gandalf said without a shred of modesty. He then looked at Harry and Ron, whose faces were twitching. "Finished?"

"Finished," the two said in unison.

"Then get ready to go."

More than ten minutes later, Gandalf folded up the tent and put it into his backpack.

Harry and the other two waited nearby for him to finish packing. With full stomachs and refreshed spirits, they all felt considerably more relaxed.
