Who Needs to Study with Eyes Like These?
Aaron looked at the stammering Professor Quirrell, and a million thoughts raced through his mind.
I thought today would be a fresh start, a time to develop peacefully and quietly as usual, but I never expected the shock to come so suddenly.
Professor Quirrell's invitation? Don't be ridiculous, it's almost certainly Voldemort's doing.
This invitation must be refused.
The Dark Lord's methods are beyond the comprehension of a mere High-level Mage like myself. Going to see him alone would be like being a fish on a chopping board.
"Mr. Gaius," Professor Quirrell called softly, "Could you come here?"
"Professor, I'm afraid I have to apologize," Aaron said sincerely and regretfully. "I have to go to Professor Snape's place tomorrow to ask him something; we agreed on that yesterday."
Quirrell paused for a moment, "How about tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow won't work either. I need to consult Professor McGonagall about some advanced Transfiguration; that's what we agreed on."
"The day after tomorrow?"
"Surely I'll be free the day after tomorrow?" Professor Quirrell gritted his teeth in struggle. He didn't believe Aaron could refuse. Even if he had to make an appointment, it should be his Defense Against the Dark Arts by now!
"This... I'm afraid that won't work either." Aaron shook his head. "For some reason, Professor Dumbledore specifically asked to see me. I need to spend some time dealing with this matter. Coincidentally, it's the day after tomorrow."
"Dumbledore ... Headmaster?" Professor Quirrell frowned.
Aaron noticed the fleeting fear in his eyes and breathed a sigh of relief. It was good that he was afraid.
"I don't know why he came to me. I guess Hagrid told him about the Forbidden Forest." Aaron said, glancing deliberately at Abei with worry in his eyes.
Seeing this, Quirrell felt much relieved.
Hagrid knew him well; he probably told Dumbledore that Aaron had kept a Fantastic Beasts.
This is a major event, so it's perfectly normal for the principal to show concern.
"Alright! Since it's the principal who's looking for you, it's not convenient for me to compete with him for the student."
But if you have time, you must come see me. You have exceptional talent, but you still need a little practice. I will personally guide you.
"Really?" Aaron was particularly delighted. "Don't worry, Professor, I will definitely go if I can find the time."
"Okay! You can go back now!"
Aaron nodded and left the classroom as usual.
His back was already soaked with cold sweat, but to avoid giving himself away, he acted perfectly normal, not even changing his breathing rhythm.
After turning a corner, Aaron leaned weakly against the wall and took several deep breaths to calm himself down.
I managed to get through it! That was so exciting! I have to give myself a hundred thumbs up for my cleverness.
With Dumbledore's influence, it's highly likely that Professor Quirrell won't invite him for quite some time.
Just as he had predicted, after all the students left the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, Professor Quirrell quickly closed the classroom door, his face turning particularly cold, a complete change from his timid demeanor during class.
"Hey, Aaron Gaius is probably pretty busy these days, so we probably won't have a chance to get an appointment with him."
"It's alright, there will be opportunities." A hoarse voice came from the back of Professor Quirrell's head. "This was just a whim."
I want to subdue him, and my current wretched appearance isn't suitable for me to appear before him. I just want to get a closer look at his talent.
"A man." Professor Quirrell hesitated for a moment. "Excuse my bluntness, Dumbledore has already noticed him. You see, we..."
"Hmph! I know that old codger too well; he's always been wary of Slytherin."
Aaron's emotional intelligence far surpasses that of his age; it might not be a bad thing for him to spend more time with that old codger.
When I return, this grudge might have unexpected consequences.
"The man is wise."
"However, Dumbledore will definitely pay more attention to this little Warlock in the future, so some plans will have to be put on hold for the time being."
If Aaron comes looking for you, just teach him a few spells to send him away.
Before Shunyang obtains the Philosopher's Stone, he must not alert the enemy or cause any unforeseen complications.
"Yes, sir."
After the conversation, Professor Quirrell instantly reverted to his frail appearance, slowly walking out of the classroom like someone recovering from a serious illness.
Early March, at the library.
With only one day left until the final exams, Draco was hunched over his desk, frantically writing down key points. In front of him lay a thick stack of textbooks and notes.
His two henchmen, Crabbe and Goyle, were studying at another table.
Although they don't like studying, this is the final exam, a test that teachers and parents take very seriously.
If I fail the exam, my parents will skin me alive when I get home.
In stark contrast to the bustling activity on this side, things were quite the opposite on Aaron's side.
On his desk were only an ordinary forbidden book, a dozing Holy Dragon, and a glass of chilled juice.
Others came to study, but he came purely to watch them study, and he felt... quite good.
"You can't do it like this. The most important thing before the exam is to relax."
With such an exhausted body, it's easy to imagine how poorly she performed in the exam.
"That's absolutely right," Crabbe nodded in agreement. "I always thought the current efficiency was worse than before!"
"That's still better than nothing!" Draco said speechlessly. Crabbe and Goyle's enthusiasm for learning was purely inspired by him.
If it weren't for him, those two guys would never have been able to hold on for so long; it would be a miracle if they hadn't been eating on the bed.
"But what about tomorrow?" Goyle asked.
"Look at them." Draco pointed with his pen at the Gryffindor trio not far away.
Thus, it was a top student mentoring two underachievers. Under the supervision of Harry, Harry, Ron Hermione, they were much more diligent than Crabbe and Goyle.
"I can't lose to Granger, and you can't lose to Potter and Weasley, understand?"
"Boss, this..."
"Um?"
"That's too easy." Crabbe, seeing Draco's look, quickly changed his tune, "We can't compare to Granger, but we can compare to Weasley and Potter ..."
Their attitude towards learning was evident to all; even last-minute cramming couldn't compare to ours.
"That's not necessarily true." Aaron shrugged. "As the saying goes, luck is also a part of strength."
Their luck has always been exceptional; you two can't compare.
Crabbe and Goyle looked at each other, exchanged wry smiles, and continued flipping through the textbook.
"How can you be so calm?" Draco asked curiously. "Aaron, I know you're a good student, but this is the final exam after all. Aren't you taking it too easy?"
"It's one thing to openly read banned books in the common area, but isn't this bottle of juice a bit too much? Aren't you afraid Madam Pince will criticize you?"
"Hehe! The librarian has certain permission here. I only brought the drinks in after I got her approval."
"What? Is that so?"
How did you do that?
"It's very simple. We'll make sure it doesn't affect other students or get the books dirty."
The most, most, most important thing is...
"What is it?"
"It's about building a good relationship with the administrator," Aaron said mysteriously. "I gave Madam Pince a gift each Christmas and Easter."
I'm probably the only student in the entire Hogwarts who knows how difficult it is for her as the administrator.
This glass of juice is a gesture of reciprocity; it's a matter of social etiquette and reciprocity!
Draco's lips twitched slightly, then he gave a thumbs up. "You're awesome."
Keep a low profile.
This is something that's easy to say but hard to hear!
"So you don't need to study?"
"Look into my eyes," Aaron Zheng asked, pointing to his own eyes. "Tell me, what can you see?"
"Hmm... it's quite pretty," Draco replied tentatively.
"Superficial, although it is indeed quite beautiful, but that's not its point."
The key point is that these are eyes that never forget anything they see.
"Hiss!" Draco was stunned for a moment, then gasped sharply after realizing what he meant. "You mean... you only need to read these books once?"
"More or less!"
If it were Muggle exam, I could just lie down and relax.
However, this is Warlock's exam, and many lessons require manual work.
Fortunately, my magical talent and practical skills are both quite good, so getting a high-level weapon isn't a problem for me.
"Why don't I have this talent?" Draco said enviously.
"You'll have to ask your parents about that," Aaron said smugly. "Anyway, with this kind of talent, who would bother with lessons?"
You guys are doing this to study, I'm just doing it for fun.
Draco shook his head with a wry smile and continued to focus on the lesson.
Some people are God's favorites, born superior to others.
He admired this kind of person, but he wasn't jealous, especially since this person was one of his few good friends.
What's more important now is tomorrow's exam; Hermione Granger is his real opponent.
Although the chances of winning are slim, Malfoy has to give it a try; he's not lacking in courage.
Just as he was secretly cheering himself up, he suddenly saw Granger coming over. He subconsciously thought that he was hallucinating because he was worried.
But after rubbing his eyes, he realized he wasn't seeing things. "Granger, what are you doing here?"
You're disturbing my studies; you're not welcome here.
"I'm looking for him." Hermione turned her gaze to Aaron. "Are you free? I'd like to talk to you about something."
"No time!" Draco said immediately. "Aaron won't welcome you either."
Aaron shrugged and pointed to his books. "I still need to relax, no, I mean, study."
"It's very important," Hermione emphasized. "It's more important than tomorrow's exam."
