Can't Even Get Past the Door and You Want to Beat Him to It
Fluffy slowly stood up, its yellow eyes looking at the two Warlock in front of it, and its three huge dog mouths secreting a lot of sticky fluid.
With each breath it took, a foul stench quickly spread throughout the room.
"Aaron, I think we need to get out of here right now," Hermione said anxiously.
"You're right." Aaron began to back away, less than a meter from the doorway, but at that moment it felt like the most dangerous distance in the world.
Woof! Woof! Woof...
No sooner had he finished speaking than Fluffy let out a deafening roar.
Before it could bite, the two retreated and quickly closed the door, blocking the huge dog's head behind them.
"That was so exciting!" Aaron breathed a heavy sigh of relief. "I really admire Hagrid now. He actually tamed such a ferocious beast."
"Exciting?" Hermione was immediately furious. "I should have stopped you earlier."
Do you know we almost died? Being bitten to death by dogs would be the biggest joke in the history of Hogwarts.
"Sorry!" Aaron smiled sheepishly, realizing he had been somewhat inconsiderate.
Ai Ai knew how to calm Fluffy down, but she came over unprepared.
"Now can you tell me why you went in to look?"
"Dumbledore has left the school," Aaron said. "In other words, Hogwarts is not as safe as you think; the You-Know-Who could walk through the Trapdoor at any time."
Hermione's pupils widened slightly. "This is really bad news. Do Harry and the others know?"
"I told them, just a dozen minutes ago."
Worse still, shortly after the start of the school year, Hagrid told a stranger about how he had used Fluffy's method.
"What?" Hermione panicked immediately. "So, the You-Know-Who has done all the preparations and is just waiting to take action?"
"That's right, he'll definitely take action before Dumbledore returns."
Harry and Ron arrived just then, both panting and looking rather pale.
"Tsk! Tsk! Tsk!" Aaron curled his lip, a playful look in his eyes. "Let me guess, Professor McGonagall doesn't trust you, does she?"
"Yes." Harry nodded in disappointment. "Not only did she not believe us, she also gave us a good scolding."
Thank you for the Calming Draught; otherwise, I might have talked back to the professor.
"You're welcome.
If it were me, I wouldn't believe it either, and I might even deduct several tens of yuan from your pay as punishment.
First of all, the Philosopher's Stone is a school secret, how did you know about it?
Secondly, how do you know someone will steal it?
Furthermore, the Philosopher's Stone was heavily guarded, with almost every professor designing mechanisms for it.
We can't just rely on your side of the story and ask a busy professor to do a thorough inspection, right? That would mean dismantling all the mechanisms.
Most importantly, even Professor McGonagall might not know how to solve all the mechanisms.
"Even the Three-headed Dog guarding the Trapdoor isn't so easy to get past. You've been pestering Hagrid for most of the semester, and he only accidentally let it slip today!"
"But... if the professor doesn't help us, then no one else can," Harry said worriedly.
There will always be a way.
"At least the Trapdoor is still safe for now." Aaron shrugged. "We still have some time before the You-Know-Who makes his move."
"Yes, there's still time." Harry suddenly realized something, a glint of light flashing in his eyes. "As long as we get the Philosopher's Stone before Voldemort."
"Pfft!" Aaron chuckled dismissively, then saw the three Gryffindor puzzled expressions.
"Ahem! Don't misunderstand."
I've also received professional training; no matter how much someone tries to laugh, I won't laugh unless I can't help it.
Hahaha..."
"Aaron," Hermione tugged at his sleeve, "You'd better tone it down a bit!"
"Is there something wrong with my plan?" Harry asked somewhat irritably.
"No problem, absolutely no problem." Aaron's expression gradually turned serious. "It's just incredibly stupid, making people laugh."
"What do you mean?" Ron said defiantly. "You'd better explain yourself clearly."
"Ha! So there's more than one idiot." Aaron rolled his eyes speechlessly, then pointed to the wooden door. "Go in! I won't stop you."
"No, Fluffy will bite us to death," Hermione said hastily.
That's what I mean.
You can't even get through the Trapdoor, yet you expect to get the Philosopher's Stone before the You-Know-Who.
Your courage is commendable, but don't mention knowing you guys when you go out in the future; it will make me look like I have a low IQ.
"That Three-headed Dog can't stop us; a little music will calm it down."
"And... what about the music?" Aaron asked with amusement.
"Uh..." Ron paused for a moment, then said awkwardly, "We haven't had time to prepare yet."
"That settles it then. You wanted to enter without any preparation; that's just courting death."
Unless you intend to sing in front of the ferocious Three-headed Dog.
Don't be ridiculous, that will only make you die faster.
"And..." Aaron paused slightly, then said seriously, "Even if you prepare music, it probably won't be of any use. Fluffy is just a doorman."
There are second, third, and even Nth levels to come.
Are you confident you can get past the traps designed by the professor?
"This..." Harry suddenly felt frustrated and helpless, and the scar on his forehead became burning hot again. "Hiss!"
"Harry?" Ron asked, looking at him with concern.
"I don't know." Harry rubbed the scar on his forehead and said with a wry smile, "But we really don't have much time left. We need to come up with a way to stop Voldemort as soon as possible."
Aaron hesitated for a few seconds before saying, "I suggest you don't do anything unnecessary. The waters behind that door are too deep; you can't handle them."
"I know that it's better to do something than to sit and wait for death."
Voldemort will definitely not let me go. I either have to stop him or die a little later than I am now.
I don't want to die, and I don't want to submit to the Dark Lord, so I have no other choice.
"If you trust me," Aaron reassured him, "I am confident I can stop the You-Know-Who."
"You?"
Not to mention Harry, even Hermione and Ron didn't believe it.
"How do you plan to stop him?" Harry asked.
"Don't worry about that. I'm confident I can handle it. Just give it to me in one go."
Aaron appeared very confident; he had been waiting for this day ever since he accepted the mission.
Harry and his companions were completely unprepared, while he was well-prepared and could easily ditch the three Gryffindor and go it alone.
If it weren't for the mission requiring him to exert himself greatly in eliminating Voldemort, he wouldn't mind carefully planning and then peacefully being a competent old man.
"How confident are you?" Harry asked.
"To be conservative, around 100%." Aaron slightly lowered his chances of winning. He was confident that he could thwart Voldemort's plan, but killing him might be a bit more difficult.
After all, he's the Dark Lord; who knows if he has any hidden trump cards?
"Only karate?" Ron asked, his eyes wide, clearly not satisfied with the odds.
"You think this is too little?!"
Why don't you do it?
Ron fell silent immediately; he knew his own limitations.
If it were him, let alone a single strike, he wouldn't even have a chance of winning. The probability of being sent away in one move would be exceptionally high.
"That's too risky." Hermione shook her head, then looked at Aaron. "Do you have a plan?"
"The plan is... to keep it a secret."
"In short, you can trust me, and you must trust me," Aaron said, then walked out of the corridor on his own.
After Aaron left, the three of them looked at each other in bewilderment.
"I think Aaron is quite confident, so how about..." Ron didn't finish his sentence, but he believed that Harry and Hermione understood what he meant.
"No," Hermione said immediately.
"I also think it's unreliable to give it to him alone." Harry sighed. "I'll stick to the original plan and get the Philosopher's Stone before the You-Know-Who."
They went to the shared lounge and sat around a table.
On the table is an ordinary flute; playing it can calm Fluffy down.
"Harry, what are you planning to do?" Hermione asked. "We have no idea what's behind the Trapdoor."
"We should still give it a try and do our best!"
We'll start moving things up tonight, after all the other students are asleep.
"Tonight?" Ron opened his mouth. "Since we don't know what's behind that door, why don't we act sooner?"
"We need to do some preparatory work," Hermione said speechlessly. "We need to rest at least a bit, otherwise we'll probably be too exhausted to continue even if we break halfway through the mechanism."
Ron's stomach growled at an inopportune moment, and he said somewhat embarrassedly, "I was in too much of a rush just now and didn't have time to eat lunch."
However, this also proves that what you said makes a lot of sense.
"Heh!" Hermione rolled her eyes. "I need to review the spells I've learned as soon as possible; they might come in handy."
"And there's the Invisibility Cloak," Harry reminded him. "You can't move around at night without it."
