"I'm truly very sorry!" Aaron's attitude was so sincere that Kingpin wondered if he was imagining things. "Believe it or not, but I knew absolutely nothing about Hela."
"I believe that." Kingpin spoke respectfully. From the moment the Goddess of Death Hela had slaughtered her way through his building and forced him to lead the way, the importance he placed on Aaron had risen without limit.
"Lady Hela... came to Earth to experience life." Aaron spoke half-truthfully. "She'll be staying with me for a while, but no one else can know of her existence.
"The Goddess of Death isn't Thor, after all. You've seen her temper, so..."
"Is that so? I understand what I should do.
"Other than me, no one will know Lady Hela's identity.
"No, including me, no one will know who she is."
Aaron nodded in satisfaction. Communicating with smart people really was easy!
For Kingpin to have made it this far and maintained the balance among various factions, he clearly had some real skill. A slight hint was enough for him to know what he needed to do.
"Of course, I won't make you do this for nothing.
"One free divination. That's your compensation."
"Thank you."
Watching Kingpin drive away, Aaron let out a relieved sigh.
The cleanup was settled. He could finally go home and eat.
But when he returned to the Divination Shop and saw the empty bowl, along with Hela casually wiping her mouth on the sofa, his mind went blank.
"You... that was my lunch!"
"It tasted good. Very good." Hela praised it seriously. "I have never eaten anything so delicious in all my life."
"Heh! Of course it was delicious.
