Aaron surveyed the cabin with interest, letting Fawkes land on his shoulder. "Looks like I'm not too late."
"Aaron." Rogue could barely contain herself, nearly bursting into tears. "Help me. He's going to kill me."
"Stop crying. Anyone would think I did something to you!" Aaron shook his head helplessly, then comforted her. "I came here to save you, and I can definitely take you back safely."
"Charles's new student?" Magneto said, somewhat surprised. "If you knew what I intended to do, you wouldn't try to stop me."
"First, don't misunderstand. I'm not Charles's student.
"I have many teachers, but he doesn't deserve to be one of them.
"Second, what you're doing is a tremendous mistake. Stopping you means saving all Mutants."
Magneto nearly laughed in anger at that.
Not Charles's student, yet just as stubborn and foolish. This was an opportunity to change the fate of Mutants. He would not give it up over a couple of words.
"Child, you shouldn't have tried to stop me, much less come alone to stop me." Magneto smiled faintly.
At that moment, a low growl came from the side. Sabretooth extended his sharp black claws and thrust them straight at Aaron's shoulder.
Aaron calmly shifted his position, dodging the claws while grabbing Sabretooth's arm. With an over-the-shoulder throw, he slammed him heavily onto the floor.
Aaron planted a foot on his chest. The force passed through Sabretooth's body, leaving a circle of fine cracks in the floor beneath him, before Aaron kicked him away.
"What annoys me most is people like you. You start fighting the moment someone disagrees with you.
"Fine, fight if you want, but before you do, at least consider whether you can actually win!"
A slick, long tongue suddenly shot through the cabin door, spiraling toward Aaron.
