Hyuga Mirai's squad had only been carrying out patrol duties for two days when they received a new mission.
They were to coordinate with other squads, locate and eliminate every Suna-nin reconnaissance ninja operating outside their lines. After clearing out the enemy, they would proceed to a designated location and ambush the Suna-nin fleeing in their direction.
After explaining the mission in detail, the White Cloud Jonin appointed Sarutobi Hisashi as the Captain for this operation.
Sarutobi Hisashi was a Special Jonin of the Sarutobi Clan. He excelled at Body Flicker and swordsmanship, and his close-range lethality rivaled that of an Elite Jonin. However, Ninjutsu and Illusion Techniques were his weaknesses.
That was what Special Jonin were like. One of their abilities was exceptionally outstanding, even reaching Jonin standards, but their shortcomings were also obvious and easily exploited by enemies.
Even so, Special Jonin were valuable combat power in Konoha. Full-fledged Jonin already had the right to participate in the Konoha Major Affairs Council. Special Jonin ranked slightly lower, but they still held higher status than Chunin. Once they made up for their weaknesses, they could become Jonin at any time.
This time, Sarutobi Hisashi was leading three Genin subordinates, Hyuga Mirai's squad, and another Chunin squad on the mission.
Among the ten-man team, there was only one Special Jonin, Sarutobi Hisashi, along with four Chunin. The remaining five were all Genin. However, these Genin had not just graduated from the Ninja Academy. They had spent two or three years carrying out missions and were Genin who worked together with practiced coordination.
Having taken missions for several years, these Genin each knew one or two C-rank Ninjutsu. Combined with Shuriken and Kunai, they could produce considerable firepower.
After everyone introduced themselves, Sarutobi Hisashi gave them a reminder before setting off.
