Background

Hyuga Mirai was a transmigrator who entered the Naruto world less than half a year before enrolling in Konoha's Ninja Academy in July of Konoha Year 41. Five years old at the time, he was a member of the Hyuga Branch Family, marked with the Caged Bird Seal. His Branch Family jonin father had died, while he retained no memories of his mother and believed she had died in childbirth. 1

Considered an average candidate rather than a genius, Mirai was placed in First Grade, Class B instead of the elite class. He decided early that becoming a medical-nin offered his best chance of surviving the approaching Third Shinobi World War. He inherited his father's cultivation notes and imposed a strict schedule of chakra refinement, Gentle Fist practice, medical study, and academy coursework on himself. 1 5

Although publicly known as a theory-perfect “bookworm,” Mirai secretly trained away from observers and deliberately kept his practical results unremarkable. By the time his classmates believed him focused solely on medicine, he had already developed near-Chunin combat ability. 7
