Power Progression
Naruto in Soseki’s World
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Half-Nine-Tails jinchūriki | 397 444 | Communicates with Kurama internally. Obito confirms that Naruto contains half of the Nine-Tails; his inherited Uzumaki physique gives him unusually high tolerance for its chakra. |
| Nine-Tails transformation | 444 | Fear and anger during Obito’s attack trigger a transformation and an uncontrolled Tailed Beast Bomb. Minato intercepts the attack to protect Konoha. |
| Sage Mode | 549 | Demonstrates Sage Mode during the Dream World examination, using a Big Ball Rasengan in a coordinated attack with Sasuke and Neji. |
| Sustained Sage Mode through Kurama | 552 | Kurama refines Sage Chakra for him, allowing prolonged use. The refinement still takes time, which Naruto conceals by stalling Sasuke. |
| Combined Sage Mode and Nine-Tails Mode | 614 | Uses both modes against Kakashi. His nine tails launch Rasenshuriken alongside his main body, producing volleys of ten attacks. |
| Six Paths power and Truth-Seeking Orbs | 636 637 | Demonstrates Truth-Seeking Orbs and a Six Paths-enhanced kick. The supplied passages do not show how this version obtained the power. |
| Chakra from all nine tailed beasts | 639 | Borrows power from the other eight beasts on the Sage of Six Paths’ advice. Each of his nine orange-red tails carries a tailed beast’s power. |
| Six Paths: Ultra-Big Ball Rasenshuriken | 652 | Combines chakra supplied by all nine beasts with Six Paths Chakra, producing a golden and purplish-black Yin-Yang Rasenshuriken against Toneri. |
Parallel-World Naruto
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Developing Wind Release: Rasenshuriken | 232 233 | Already possesses the technique but seeks full completion and a way to throw it. Soseki identifies chakra control as a route to overcoming its instability. |
| Guided experience of Sage Mode | 233 234 | Soseki temporarily controls Naruto’s body through the Spirit Transformation Technique to demonstrate Sage Mode. This is an instructional experience, not Naruto’s independent mastery. |
| Independently usable Sage Mode | 511 | Returns with Fukasaku and destroys Pain’s Naraka Path using a Sage Art: Giant Spiraling Sphere. |
| Throwable Sage Art: Wind Release: Rasenshuriken | 512 | Uses two shadow clones to form and throw the technique during the battle with Pain. Sakura explicitly recognizes the improvement. |
| Instant Sage Mode entry | 582 | Achieves immediate activation after further training. Hashirama attributes the breakthrough to spiritual growth following recent crises and reunions. |
| Power granted by the Sage of Six Paths | 586 587 | Appears flying beside Sasuke and the Sage. The Sage divides his power between the two, enabling them to confront Madara with coordinated enhanced attacks. |
Background / History
Birth and Upbringing in Soseki’s World
Naruto is born while Obito unleashes the Nine-Tails on Konoha. Soseki assists Kushina’s delivery while sending clones and slugs to help the village. His presence prevents Obito from carrying out his original plan to attack the delivery room 317 318.
After the incident, Soseki negotiates an arrangement intended to prevent Danzō from targeting Minato, Kushina, and Naruto. Minato temporarily leaves Konoha on a secret mission, accepting separation from his family so Naruto can have a normal upbringing. The arrangement permits him to return once a month 324 325.
Kushina conceals the previous generation’s history from Naruto for the sake of his growth. He consequently believes that she is an ordinary housewife and Minato an ordinary intelligence officer. Despite carrying Kurama, he considers himself a child from an ordinary family and wonders whether he was chosen because of his potential to become Hokage 397.
Parallel-World Counterpart
Another Naruto arrives in Rōran with Yamato’s group. While protecting Sara, he mistakes Soseki’s party for enemies and attacks before noticing their Konoha forehead protectors. Soseki disarms him, and Yamato reprimands his impulsiveness 221.
This Naruto seeks strength to confront an enemy responsible for Jiraiya’s death. Soseki discusses three routes: completing a powerful S-rank technique, developing Nine-Tails Chakra Mode, and learning Sage Mode. He also demonstrates Sage Mode directly through Naruto’s body, although Naruto struggles to understand the experience 232 233 234.
When Soseki and Mizuki later visit his world, Naruto learns that the alternate Minato and Kushina survived their Nine-Tails incident. He thanks Soseki and eagerly accepts the prospect of communicating with the residual wills of his own parents, whose chakra Soseki senses within him 516 517.
Appearance
- Blond hair: Identified as a blond child while playing with Sasuke in Konoha’s park 397.
- Six whisker-like facial marks: Yamato uses these marks to identify the parallel-world Naruto 221.
- Nine orange-red chakra tails: Manifest during later battles; they can carry tailed-beast power and launch attacks individually 614 639.
- Transformation disguises: The parallel-world Naruto takes a female form, called Naruko in the passage, while attempting to approach Madara unnoticed 587.
Personality
Naruto is cheerful, ambitious, and openly enthusiastic about people he admires. As a child, he casts himself as Soseki in playground games and quickly recovers from disappointment when Sasuke lets him take that role. He welcomes Hinata into the game and later befriends Boruto without hesitation 397 551.
His competitiveness includes envy of Sasuke’s popularity and convenient abilities. Nevertheless, their rivalry coexists with friendship, teamwork, and mutual protection. During Urashiki’s threat, Naruto comes to understand his own goal as fighting for and protecting everyone 398 555 600.
He can appear carefree or simple-minded, but his combat instincts are praised by his teachers. Against Momoshiki, he remains calm, identifies the timing of the enemy’s time freeze, and uses deception rather than relying entirely on overwhelming chakra 615 616.
The parallel-world Naruto is especially quick to act when others are endangered. That compassion also creates tactical vulnerabilities: Pain targets civilians to force him into a rescue dilemma, prompting Fukasaku to insist that defeating Pain quickly is the best way to save everyone 221 511.
Abilities & Skills
Chakra Reserves and Uzumaki Physique
- Soseki considers the parallel-world Naruto’s chakra reserves sufficient to turn a powerful S-rank technique into a practical combat tool rather than an occasional trump card 232.
- Native Naruto’s inherited Uzumaki physique can withstand more tailed-beast chakra than an ordinary child’s body; Obito judges his capacity greater than an adult’s 444.
- Nagato later senses that native Naruto’s chakra quantity exceeds his own 633.
- His stamina remains finite even with Kurama’s assistance, and he cannot simply overwhelm an opponent who can evade through Flying Thunder God 553.
Shadow Clone Technique
- Uses shadow clones to assist in forming Rasenshuriken 232 512.
- Disguises a clone as a Rasenshuriken to approach Kakashi from behind 614.
- Repeatedly lets Momoshiki’s time-freeze attacks strike clones while his real body prepares an underground ambush 615 616.
- Creates thousands of clones to chant the Will of Fire against the Evil God 637.
- Maintains a clone’s suppression of the Evil God while his main body fights other demons 639.
Rasengan and Wind Release: Rasenshuriken
- Sage Mode: Big Ball Rasengan: Used in the examination attack launched by Neji’s Eight Gates-enhanced Rotation 549.
- Sage Art: Giant Spiraling Sphere: Used against Sasuke in the examination arena 553.
- Ultra-Big Ball Rasengan: Mixed with natural energy to punish Momoshiki for absorbing it, temporarily petrifying him 615.
- Ten-projectile Rasenshuriken volleys: Native Naruto launches one himself and one from each of his nine tails 614.
- Six Paths: Ultra-Big Ball Rasenshuriken: Uses all nine beasts’ chakra fused with Six Paths Chakra 652.
Sage Mode
- Native Naruto trained in sage arts at Mount Myōboku, where the toads recognize him on his return 635.
- Kurama can refine Sage Chakra for him, supporting prolonged use without removing the initial preparation time 552.
- Sage Mode provides strong sensing; Kakashi plans his clone tactics around that awareness 614.
- The parallel-world Naruto eventually learns to enter Sage Mode instantly 582.
Nine-Tails Power
- Native Naruto carries half of Kurama and communicates with him internally 397 444.
- An emotional crisis can provoke an uncontrolled transformation and Tailed Beast Bomb 444.
- Later uses Nine-Tails Mode together with Sage Mode in tournament combat 614.
- Borrows the other beasts’ power to give each manifested tail a separate tailed-beast contribution 639.
- Extraction remains life-threatening: the parallel-world Naruto rapidly approaches death after Madara and Obito remove his Nine-Tails 571 572.
Six Paths Power and Truth-Seeking Orbs
- The parallel-world Naruto gains flight after the Sage of Six Paths shares his power 586 587.
- Native Naruto enhances a kick with Six Paths power strongly enough to destroy the Evil God’s body, though the enemy reforms 637.
- His Truth-Seeking Orbs cannot block spirits lacking physical form and chakra 636.
- They cannot instantly kill the Boar Demon, and Naruto’s supply is not self-renewing. Although the Sage can provide more, he avoids wasting them 639.
Deception and Combat Analysis
- Stalls Sasuke while Kurama prepares Sage Chakra, successfully concealing his actual plan 552.
- Exploits Momoshiki’s absorption by feeding him natural energy 615.
- Determines that Momoshiki’s time freeze lasts one second and has a five-second interval; Neji supplies the duration, while Naruto figures out the interval 616.
- Uses transformation and deliberately humiliating rear attacks to distract or provoke opponents 587 614 615.
Will of Fire Chant
- Coordinates thousands of clones in simultaneous chanting to suppress the Evil God’s soul 637.
- Nagato and the great toads protect the chanting clones, but the large number of bodies makes complete protection impossible 637.
- The White Snake Sage counters the sound-based attack with Auditory Deprivation 637.
Relationships
- Namikaze Minato — Father. In Soseki’s world, Minato accepts temporary separation to protect Naruto’s upbringing. During Obito’s later attack, he intercepts Naruto’s uncontrolled Tailed Beast Bomb 324 325 444.

- Hatake Kakashi — Known to native Naruto as “Kakashi-sensei” and later a tournament opponent. Their match combines high-powered attacks with competing Thousand Years of Death techniques 479 614.
- Jiraiya — Minato’s teacher. Native Naruto initially knows him chiefly as a Sannin and notorious novelist, then expresses surprise at the strength of his former students 479 480.
- Yamato — Captain of the parallel-world Naruto’s group. Searches for him in Rōran and reprimands his attack on fellow Konoha ninja 221.
- Fukasaku — Adviser accompanying the parallel-world Naruto against Pain. Urges him to prioritize ending the battle over individually rescuing civilians 511.
- Mizuki — Soseki’s follower and the parallel-world Naruto’s unexpected ally against Pain. Naruto credits him and Soseki with the victory 511 514.

Trivia
- An earlier mention of “Naruto” refers to the protagonist of Jiraiya’s Tale of the Gutsy Ninja, not the child later born to Minato and Kushina 58.
- Naruto mistakes the visiting middle-aged Sasuke for Boruto’s father; Sasuke hastily identifies himself as Boruto’s uncle 551.
- His practical respect for the Will of Fire becomes a literal combat method when thousands of clones chant it against the Evil God 637.
