Klein reunited with Benson and Melissa in Backlund and urged them to become Beyonders so they could protect themselves.

• Sno warned the Tarot Club that a major event threatened Backlund, then abandoned his plan to leave and prepared to act in the city.
• At the Ermida Grand Theater, Sno played music through Heavenly Punishment to ease the True Creator’s contamination, while Trissy transformed Prince Edsac into Adelina.
• As the Great Smog spread through the East Borough, Passion and the Worker’s Movement led people in song, and Sno used the music to transfer their suffering to Heavenly Punishment.
• Sno activated the piano’s Worshipper characteristics, spreading music and golden radiance across Backlund as the True Creator’s consciousness grew clearer.
• After the crisis, Sno mourned the eight thousand deaths, supported Passion and Lavish’s work, and helped Trissy and Adelina prepare for their new roles.
• Sno advised Klein to protect Benson and Melissa by making them Beyonders, warned that the Apocalypse was a little over ten years away, and arranged a safe home for them.

Sno pursued his Destiny Path ritual aboard the Black Pearl, where he and Sera investigated a murder, a mysterious creature, and the ship’s connection to Jack. Meanwhile, Leonard learned the truth about Klein’s identities and resurrection, and Klein considered the difficulties of advancing along the Seer pathway.

• At a Tarot Club gathering, Klein read Roselle’s notes about the Twilight Hermit Society and Perrdax’s suspicions about The Writer, while Derrick described the City of Silver’s discoveries and Sno warned against speaking the name Ouroboros.
• Sno completed digesting the Baron of Corruption potion and set out to fulfill his ritual by traveling the Sunia Sea and hoping to encounter a Pirate General by chance.
• Aboard the Black Pearl, Sno met Sera, who told him about Roselle’s hidden sea treasure and enlisted his help investigating the ship and the thief Jack.
• After a passenger named Barbosa was found dead, Sno and Sera investigated Jack’s possible hidden identity and learned that unusual passengers, missing cargo, and the captain’s private goods surrounded the ship’s voyage.
• Leonard traced Klein’s identities to Sno, learned that Klein had died and been resurrected, and agreed to guide the Moretti siblings while receiving assignments through Sno’s messenger.
• Sno found traces of a strange creature in his cabin, and Sera’s investigation suggested it had residual spirituality but had not killed Barbosa, and her attempts to identify it through rituals failed.
• Klein read Perrdax’s account of the Scholar of Yore formula and its three-hundred-year ritual, then considered whether the Gray Fog staircase could help him overcome the advancement requirement.
• Sno and Sera explored the Black Pearl’s deserted lower decks with Light Peter and found the prayer hall overrun by slick gray moss.

Sno took control of the living Black Pearl, killed Barbosa and Jack, and escaped with Sera and Light before advancing to Sequence V aboard the Golden Dream. The arc ended with the Tarot Club discussing the Ghost Ship, the Red Angel, and clues to the Trunsoest legacy.

• Sno, Sera, and Light discovered hundreds of drained corpses aboard the Black Pearl, while Light revealed his identity as a Calamity Priest and advanced to Winner.
• Nomila confronted Barbosa and Jack, and Jack explained that the Black Pearl was a living Sealed Artifact bound by rules and headed for the Ghost Empire.
• Sno used music and the True Creator’s power to weaken the ship’s allegiance to Trunsoest and reshape it, then rejected Jack’s offer to cooperate.
• Sno killed Barbosa and Jack, took the Dragon Tooth, and returned to the piano as the Black Pearl’s moss-covered deck cast Sera and Light into the sea.
• Sno, Sera, and Light boarded Adwina’s Golden Dream, where Sno drank the Winner potion and advanced to Sequence V: Shakespeare’s Ape.
• Sno explained his decoy spell to Adwina and offered her a chance to pray to Paradox, while Danitz, Gehrman Sparrow, and Xio each became involved in new dealings aboard or around the ship.
• At the Tarot Club, Sno recounted the Ghost Ship’s escape, Hanged Man identified it as a living key created by the Trunsoest family, and Cosmi agreed to wake his grandfather after Emlyn shared clues about the Life-Giver’s characteristics.

Audrey discovered the Perrdax family’s hidden castle and explored its trial maze, while Klein learned about the family’s experiments and helped Sno deal with Helene. The arc ended with Sno commissioning Xio to spread the power of Decoys as Fors waited for the circus to arrive.

• Emlyn told Nabeus that Jack had created a Ghost Ship, and Nabeus sent Cosmi to investigate Jack and the Black Pearl.
• Audrey found the hidden entrance to the Perrdax family’s ancestral home, entered its trial maze with Susie, and reached the castle with a Black Key.
• Audrey met Sno in the castle, returned to visit, and learned she could use the key to teleport there and summon its servants.
• Sno rescued Helene from her captors in Bayram, and Klein arranged to meet her after learning she was in Sno’s hands.
• Klein read Perrdax’s diary and learned about the castle’s construction and the family’s attempts to create a virtual community in the Sea of Collective Subconscious.
• Audrey followed traces of a Mind Dragon and explored the ancestral home, while Klein warned her not to act rashly and recognized the site as the Perrdax residence.
• Klein met Helene at Sno’s apartment, and Sno offered her a paid maid position and asked Klein to sell him Tracy’s Beyonder Characteristic if he killed her.
• Sno began Helene’s maid training, forged scriptures and histories for the Aurora Society, then commissioned Xio to help people awaken Decoys.
