Torikaze's Rain Country development plan had only just begun to gradually unfold. Now, in its seventh year, both Central City and the Rain Country had developed exceptionally well.

As for the inland villages and cities of every nation, eating fish no longer required spending a fortune.

Retirement was coming soon, and Torikaze was thrilled.

Still, the Rain Country's development was a long-term plan, and he would have to keep an eye on it to some extent in the future.

Otherwise, all those years of investment would have gone to waste.

The report pleased Torikaze greatly. There was nothing wrong with it; everything was moving in a better direction.

That put Torikaze at ease.

He could leave the rest to Chisato and the village's many clans.

For the prosperity and flourishing of their clans, they certainly would not smash this iron rice bowl.

With them working so diligently, Torikaze could rest easy.

He stretched, set the report on a nearby table, and left his office.

Seeing all the decorations lining the streets, Torikaze nodded in satisfaction.

Important days needed the right atmosphere. Back when he succeeded to the position of Hokage, the celebration had been extraordinarily lively as well.

He had not let down the villagers or the previous Hokages' expectations, successfully elevating Konoha to greater heights.

Now that he was about to retire, he could finally enjoy the peaceful life he had long dreamed of.

Yet Torikaze could not shake an ominous feeling. He forced himself not to think about it, but that indescribable sensation stubbornly lingered.

"Lord Hokage, are you heading home?"

"Yeah. Work's over, so I'm going home for dinner."
