Mahayana Buddhism
After leaving the Three Immortal Islands, Duobao followed Dao Venerable Lin Tian's advice, concealed his aura, transformed into an ordinary Daoist, and headed to the Primordial Continent.
Along the way, he had seen too much. He had seen many tribes fight bloody battles for a single Postnatal Spiritual Root, with corpses piled up like mountains and blood soaking the earth.
I have witnessed the power struggles, conspiracies, and displacement of the common people in human towns.
I've seen cultivators outside immortal mountain caves turn against each other, fighting to the death over a Spiritual Treasure, their souls scattered.
I have also witnessed weak races struggling to survive in the cracks between powerful forces, living on the brink of extinction.
Initially, Duobao felt compassion and intervened.
But after a while, he simply stood quietly at a distance, acting as an observer.
Greed, hatred, and fear were in the eyes of those who fought.
The despair and resentment of those victims before their deaths.
Watching the victor's ecstatic joy.
Watching the indifference, sighs, or schadenfreude of the bystanders.
He tried to understand the suffering of not getting what one wants, the suffering of being separated from loved ones, the suffering of being with those one hates, and the suffering of birth, old age, sickness, and death.
Ignorance, attachment, greed, and hatred.
His Dao Heart became increasingly settled and clear.
The essence of Buddhist Dharma taught by Dao Venerable Lin Tian was integrated and developed with his own accumulation, knowledge, and insights.
Over the years, he has traversed mountains and rivers, crossed deserts and grasslands, experienced the changing seasons, and witnessed countless partings and reunions.
The aura emanating from him was not as overtly assertive as it had been in the past.
On this day, he arrived at the western edge of the central part of the Primordial Wilderness, a relatively barren hilly area inhabited by many humans.
On the outskirts of a small village called Qingshi, Duobao saw a group of teenagers playing in an open space.
One of the boys, about seven or eight years old, was thin but had delicate features. He was holding a sharpened wooden stick and clumsily but earnestly gesturing in the air as if to stab, pick, and chop, while muttering incantations. His little face was flushed red.
"Hey! Donghua! Showing off your broken stick again? You can't even hit a rabbit, and you want to learn swordsmanship? Dream on!" A much stronger, chubby boy mocked, drawing laughter from a group of children around him.
The skinny boy, known as Donghua, paused, his face turning even redder, but he stubbornly bit his lip and didn't stop. Instead, he swung the wooden stick even harder.
"Haha, you don't know, he used to boast that he would become the Sword Ancestor!"
The other child's eyes were full of disdain.
"Sword Ancestor? Does he think he's some kind of figure like the Ancestor Suiren or the Medicine Ancestor? Those are true heroes of our human race. How could he possibly be a match for him?"
Another child joined in the commotion.
"A guy who hasn't even scratched the surface of martial arts should just obediently follow his father and learn farming!"
The chubby boy stepped forward, snatched the wooden stick from Donghua's hand, and casually threw it away.
Donghua stared at the wooden stick that had been thrown far away, his eyes slightly reddening, but he didn't cry. He just clenched his little fists tightly, his chest heaving violently.
Duobao stood quietly under an old tree, watching this scene unfold.
He could see that this boy named Donghua had a natural sharpness, and more importantly, there was an almost stubborn determination and longing in his clear eyes.
Just as Donghua was about to lower his head from the ridicule, a gentle voice rang in his ear:
"Little fellow, is your sword in your heart, or in your hand?"
Donghua looked up in surprise and saw a kind-faced, middle-aged Daoist priest in a simple robe standing beside him, smiling at him.
"I..."
Donghua opened his mouth, but for a moment he didn't know how to answer.
The children nearby ran away as soon as they saw the newcomers.
Duobao bent down, picked up the stick that had been thrown far away, gently brushed off the dust, and handed it back to Donghua: "If a sword is only in your hand, it is merely a weapon; if a sword is only in your heart, it is merely a fantasy."
"True Sword Dao requires the intent of the sword in one's heart, the skill of the sword in one's hands, and the unity of knowledge and action to achieve mastery."
He patted Donghua's thin shoulder gently, saying, "Since you have a sword in your heart, why care about what others think? Stick to your path, and even if the road ahead is thorny, you will succeed one day."
Donghua took the wooden stick blankly, looking into the Daoist's peaceful yet profound eyes.
He nodded emphatically, his eyes regaining their brightness and determination.
Duobao smiled slightly, said no more, and turned to leave.
"Wait!" Donghua suddenly called out, mustering his courage. "Senior, who are you?"
Duobao smiled slightly, "I'm just a passerby in your life, let's not talk about it."
He turned and left.
Donghua was filled with gratitude and said loudly, "Senior, one day, I, Donghua, will definitely become the Sword Ancestor the Human Race! I will use the sword in my hand to protect the Human Race! I mean what I say!"
Duobao paused slightly, but didn't turn around; instead, a smile appeared on his lips.
It cleared away the last wisp of confusion he had about the Dao!
In an instant, a flash of inspiration struck!
He found a secluded cliff and sat down cross-legged.
His aura blended seamlessly with the natural world.
"I see that all beings suffer, and this suffering stems from ignorance, attachment, greed, anger, delusion, and pride..."
"The Dao Venerable bestowed upon me the true Dharma, enabling me to understand my mind and see my true nature, directly pointing to the origin..."
"Today, I, Duobao, inherit the essence of Buddhist Dharma wisdom, strip away its false forms, and integrate the Interception Sect —the principle of teaching without discrimination and giving all beings a glimmer of hope..."
His understanding grew clearer and clearer.
"We will not build magnificent temples, nor sculpt golden Buddha statues, nor pursue abundant incense offerings, nor be obsessed with supernatural Supernatural Power!"
"We only transmit the wisdom of liberation, only preach the freedom of mind, only seek equality for all beings, and only wish to dispel delusion and attain enlightenment!"
"Not for becoming a Buddha or an ancestor, but for understanding one's true nature; not for being reborn in the Pure Land, but for peace in the present moment; not for awe of all beings, but for enlightenment!"
"My path is the Mahayana path! My teaching is called Mahayana Buddhism!"
"Boom!!!"
In an instant, a vast Buddha Light surged from Duobao's body.
It illuminates the entire world.
The West, Mount Ling.
Zhunti, who was discussing the Dao with Jieyin, suddenly changed his expression!
"Who is it?! How dare they steal the fortune of our Buddhist sect and disrupt the foundation of our religion?!"
The guide's expression Jieyin solemn as he saw the Buddha's Buddha Light in the void.
"It's Duobao!"
The two tore through space and appeared directly in front of Duobao.
They saw that Duobao actually possessed Western Buddhist Dharma.
"You wretched creature! How dare you do this!"
Zhunti was furious, and a surge of Saintly Might pressed down on Duobao, but it had no effect whatsoever.
"Duobao!"
Zhunti was furious and enraged. "How dare you plagiarize my Western Great Law, establish a heretical cult, and disrupt my destiny! Today I will banish your soul to the Nine Netherworlds, where it will never be reincarnated!"
Jieyin looked at Duobao and said, "Amitabha, Duobao, you were originally a highly accomplished disciple of the Mystic Gate, yet you have committed such a rebellious act, shaking the very foundation of our Western Paradise. Let this matter rest."
Despite facing the two enraged saints, Duobao showed no fear.
He slowly rose, his expression calm, and clasped his hands in a gesture of respect.
"You two sages are mistaken. The Mahayana Buddhism I established was something I realized after traveling through the Primordial Wilderness, experiencing the suffering of all beings, and attaining enlightenment."
"Its teachings originate from the understanding of the suffering of all beings and the pursuit of spiritual liberation. I do not establish idols, value external things, or seek incense offerings. I only transmit wisdom and seek equality and freedom. How can this be considered stealing the Way?"
He paused, then his tone turned stern. "The Great Dao is impartial, and the merit of its teachings is boundless. Are you two sages so enraged because you know that Western Teachings are somewhat biased and have an unstable foundation?"
"Sharp tongue! Sophistry!" Enraged by her Zhunti, Zhunti could no longer contain himself. "Today, no matter how eloquent you are, you won't escape punishment! Come here!"
Having said that, the Seven Treasures Wonderful Tree suddenly swept across, and a seven-colored ray of light descended upon Duobao!
Now he was truly enraged and wanted to destroy Duobao's foundation and shatter the Mahayana Buddhism fortune that had just been formed!
Just then...
"Zhunti! How dare you harm my disciple!!"
