Yan joined the Feili Team, led them to victory in the tournament, and claimed the treasures of a dragon lair in the Light-Shadow Space. After the Feili Team departed, he infiltrated Vast Palace and fought Shangguan Tianyue before escaping, leaving Vast Palace unable to uncover his identity.

• Yan joined the Feili Team as a substitute after negotiating with Ming Hua and Caicai, then helped the team defeat Baida and Baopo to reach the final four.
• Yan dominated the finals in the Light-Shadow Space, defeating the Central Heaven, Myriad Beasts, and Danton teams after claiming the treasures in a dragon lair with Caicai and Ming Hua.
• Yan led the Feili Team to victory, then met Shangguan Tianxing and Shangguan Tianyue, refusing to reveal his origins or trade away the dragon-cave treasures.
• After Caicai and Ming Hua left Heavenly Pearl Island, Yan visited the Solidification Pavilion and secretly infiltrated Vast Palace to explore its vault and library.

Yan traveled from Feili City to the Misty Swamps, where he fought the Nine-Headed Sacred Serpent and formed a contract with the Mother of Myriad Snakes. Back at the Sacred Grounds Gathering, he warned Wu Yunyue about a secret alliance and watched tensions rise during the tournament.

• Yan reunited with Caicai in Feili City, secured access to the Supreme Engraving Palace, and exchanged Solidification knowledge and blueprints with Han Xiao and Yun Li.
• Yan recruited Huyan Aobo and brought Shangguan Bing'er toward Feili City after defeating Zhou Shuiniu and helping him break through.
• Yan crossed the Myriad Beast Empire, took in Baihu Tian'er, and entered the Misty Swamps, where he fought the Nine-Headed Sacred Serpent and the Mother of Myriad Snakes before contracting with her.
• Yan returned to Feili City, where Ming Hua told him the Sacred Grounds Gathering had been moved forward and Wu Yuehan arrived to propose cooperation with the Heavenly Evil Sect.
• At the gathering, Wu Yunyue challenged Huang Xingyun before Fen Tian arrived, and the Sacred Grounds’ leaders clashed over the tournament rules and entered Crimson Blood Hell.
• Yan agreed to support Wu Yuehan’s succession and warned Wu Yunyue that Valley of Sentiments and Crimson Blood Hell sought control of the continent.
• During the tournament, Yan suspected Crimson Blood Hell and Valley of Sentiments were concealing an alliance, while Xue Aotian’s attack on a fighter who had conceded provoked Huang Xingyun.

Yan exposed the Netherworld Master’s allies, forged an alliance against them, and gained powerful new abilities by defeating the Evil Emperor. He led the Silver Dragon King and his companions into Dragon Valley, where they honored the fallen dragons and received the Dragon God’s recognition before learning of the Soaring Dragon Pillar.

• Wu Yunyue lost to Xue Aotian, and the tournament ended with Vast Palace victorious after the Sacred Grounds conceded or forfeited their matches.
• Yan showed the Sacred Ground leaders evidence that the Netherworld Master was empowering Fen Tian, Huang Xingyun, Shen Mo, and Yun Ruoyu, then persuaded them to unite against the threat.
• Yan helped Shangguan Bing'er reunite with Shangguan Tianyue, then returned to Spirit City and discussed the Netherworld Master and the God Realm with Bibi Dong.
• Yan visited the Star Dou Great Forest, agreed to target the Evil Emperor, and killed it to claim its eye as a Soul Bone.
• Yan returned to the Star Dou Great Forest, convinced the Silver Dragon King to work with him, and led her, Di Tian, Qiu'er, and Jia Lin into Dragon Valley.
• Yan and the group witnessed the Dragon Clan’s ancient defeat, found the Dragon God’s remnant soul, and stopped the Silver Dragon King from taking the Heart of the Dragon God and endangering the secret realm.
• Yan led the group in burying Dragon Valley’s fallen dragons, including the Mountain Dragon King, whose soul rewarded him with its torso bone.
• The dragon souls formed the Dragon God’s Tear bracelet on Yan’s wrist, and the Silver Dragon King identified the Soaring Dragon Pillar as an artifact that could aid the Dragon Clan’s cultivation.

Yan secured the whale family as Soul Spirits, destroyed the Valley of Sentiments, and obtained Profound Sky Palace’s support to free the Dragon Clan. After helping retrieve the Dragon Emperor’s descendants, he found the Shangguan Triplets in the Elf Clan and confronted a remnant of the Valley wielding Destruction power.

• Yan found the Soaring Dragon Pillar with the Silver Dragon King, then traveled to Sea God Island and defeated Bo Saixi in a test of strength.
• Yan helped Bai Xiuxiu kill the Evil Orca King and defeat its pod, allowing her to pass her Sixth Trial and gain soul rings and Soul Bones.
• Yan defeated the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King and captured him, the Demon Empress, and Lan Fozi, then brought them to Spirit City as Hu Liena’s intended Soul Spirits.
• Yan secured Vast Palace’s support and joined its forces in destroying the Valley of Sentiments, where Huang Xingyun and Yun Ruoyu died and the allied forces eliminated the remaining defenders.
• Yan traveled to Profound Sky Palace and agreed to kill the Terror Sea Demonic Dragon in exchange for the Space Teleportation Stone and the palace’s aid against the Netherworld calamity.
• Yan returned with Profound Sky Palace’s allies, and Dongfang Hanyue used the stone to bring Dragon Lord Radiance, Dores, and their hatchling out of Light-Shadow Space.
