Background / History
Chu Feng began as an ordinary college graduate in the Post-Civilization Era. After breaking up with a campus goddess shortly before graduation, he traveled to clear his mind and eventually reached the foothills of Kunlun Mountain. There, he witnessed the blue Other Shore Flowers’ brief bloom, found a stone box containing three withered seeds, and heard a voice asking whether he wanted to become the Heavenly Emperor 705.
The voice belonged to Yan Kuan, who chose Chu Feng as the first test subject of the Fire Seed Path. Yan Kuan instructed him to climb Kunlun again, cultivate through special breathing rhythms, and seek strange fruits capable of polishing his foundation 706 707. Chu Feng’s first rapid evolution gave him superhuman speed, strength, perception, and reflexes; he soon defeated the Dragon Mastiff, Golden Eagle, and Great Black Yak guarding a Strange Fruit 707.
Appearance
Chu Feng’s appearance changes repeatedly as his body evolves, is tempered by tribulations, and undergoes flame-based rebirth.
- Initially appears as a young college graduate traveling alone near Kunlun Mountain 705.
- Early Fire Seed cultivation expels old skin and leaves his body with crystalline skin and a faint fragrance 707.
- During major transformations, his body emits golden or silver radiance; his eyes can project bright beams of light 730.
- After undergoing thunder-and-fire nirvana, he regenerates with jade-like skin and a more youthful face resembling his adult features 758.
- His Emperor Flame often manifests around his body in combat, making him resemble a blazing war god or demon god 768 789.
Personality
Chu Feng begins as cautious, practical, and strongly inclined toward self-preservation. He hides the effects of his evolution, carefully judges unfamiliar people, and initially hesitates to kill even hostile opponents 707 713.
Yan Kuan repeatedly challenges this restraint, urging him to develop ambition and act decisively in an era where weakness invites destruction. Chu Feng gradually adopts a more aggressive, competitive outlook, choosing to fight for the opportunities of Qingyang Town, Earth, and eventually the wider cosmos rather than waiting for destiny to favor him 715 773.
Despite his ruthlessness toward invaders, traitors, and those who threaten his people, Chu Feng remains deeply attached to Earth, Qingyang Town, and his parents. He protects civilians during disasters, asks Lin Nuoyi to safeguard his parents, and is moved by the suffering of enslaved descendants of ancient Earth 711 714 778.
Abilities & Skills
Flame Bearer and Emperor Flame
Chu Feng’s core inheritance is Yan Kuan’s Fire Seed Path. It enables him to draw upon, refine, and evolve through extraordinary flames.
- Activates the Fire Seed Method through a flame on his forehead and refines Dao Fire from burned beast carcasses 710.
- Converts refined fire, beast flesh, spiritual herbs, and other energies into physical evolution 710 715.
- Is immune to and able to refine the Golden Crow King’s Solar Fire Essence through the Emperor Flame inheritance 729.
- Can manifest Blazing Arts in varied forms, including flame constructs and direct offensive attacks 712.
- Uses Karma Fire against Carefree Realm opponents; the flame is feared even by powerful Buddhist lineages 753.
- Can ignite a Flame Seed of faith from believers’ prayers, briefly increasing his strength by a hundredfold. This power is external, creates karmic obligations, and risks backlash if not repaid 746.
Breathing Techniques
Chu Feng supplements the Fire Seed Path with powerful breathing methods that temper his flesh, spirit, and energy.
- His foundational breathing technique absorbs sunlight and rapidly strengthens his body; even the Little Yellow Ox considers its effect on Chu Feng abnormal 716.
- Obtains the complete Great Thunderclap Breathing Technique from a stone prayer wheel in the Himalayas 748.
- The Great Thunderclap Breathing Technique is especially effective at refining the physical body and spirit 748.
- Uses breathing techniques to restore himself to peak condition, exchange energy with heaven and earth, and sustain combat against stronger opponents 728 743.
Great Strength Ox Demon Fist
A martial inheritance learned from the Little Yellow Ox.
- Its completed form manifests a towering black wild ox behind Chu Feng 712.
- Combines overwhelming physical force with thunderous sonic attacks 713.
- Its first form can shatter a Three-Tailed Beast’s claws and pierce its body 715.
- Remains one of his principal close-combat arts during the Shackles Realm period 729.
Human King Physique
Chu Feng’s bloodline awakens in response to his conflict with the descendants of Earth’s ancient enemies.
- His Human King Physique awakens after he annihilates Yuwen Feng and the Starry Sky Knights 761.
- The first-stage awakening turns his blood azure and grants him power comparable to a Sub-Sage 787.
- His body and spirit can enter a state of Myriad Laws Immunity, resisting mental and spiritual techniques 769.
- His flame-based regeneration allows him to recover from severe bodily destruction, including injuries inflicted by the Grand Martial Celestial Venerable’s Dao Body 797 798.
Mental Arts, Eyes, and Fields
Chu Feng develops diverse sensory, mental, and field-based abilities.
- His perception allows him to see bullet trajectories and sense danger before attacks land 714.
- The Fiery Golden Eyes see through concealment and illusions, allowing him to track Zhou Shang despite invisibility 774.
- A transformed seed becomes the Soul Bell, which interferes with mental force and launches soul attacks 782.
- Comprehends a powerful Mental Assault Technique from Divine Radiance 782.
- Is proficient in fields and formations, using Divine Magnetites to amplify surrounding energy and reverse an enemy encirclement 787.
- Uses Earth’s field and West Forest Clan invaders as sacrifices to prepare a killing move capable of alarming Sages 770.
Weapon Techniques
- Learns mental weapon control and wields a crimson flying sword as an extension of his body 732.
- Uses bow and arrow firepower to destroy armed helicopters and severely wound the Silver-Winged Heavenly God 718.
- Combines flying swords, Emperor Flame, and physical combat when facing King-level and extraterrestrial opponents 743 761.
