Jungle Life
The Malaga Jungle are far more arduous than the elves described.
Here, there is an endless Green Sea, and you can hear the chirping of insects all night long. When you wake up in the morning, you can reach out and touch the blueberries on the bushes...
But the elves forgot to mention: this is a jungle that few people usually set foot in, and there are no roads in the jungle at all.
The Malaga Jungle are difficult to traverse during the rainy season; with each step forward, your feet sink into the soft, decaying leaf litter.
When you lift your foot, water quickly seeps out of the footprint...
Roy's shoes were wet, and his feet were white from being soaked.
Klayr was much more comfortable because he was wearing tall leather boots.
His Light Leather Armor also proved very useful as he traversed the jungle.
At least he won't end up like Roy, whose linen clothes are torn to shreds by the thorns of the vines. Roy now looks almost like a beggar.
What's worse is that he also has scratches all over his body, which are not serious. The thorns of the vines contain some toxins, and the scratches are itchy and painful.
The intense heat in the jungle makes the sweat on the wounds even more unbearable.
"Roy, you really should buy a set of Light Leather Armor."
Klayr, brandishing her machete, led the way, saying as she went.
A bloodstain was visible on her delicate face, but Klayr didn't seem to care.
He even thought that having a scar on his face might make him look fiercer.
However, he also had no intention of taking off his leather armor to lend to Roy, because the wounds inflicted by the vines were really painful...
Roy also felt a little regretful; if he had known it would turn out this way, he definitely should have bought a set of leather armor.
Actually, he was initially worried that wearing a full set of leather armor while traversing the jungle would not only make him too hot to breathe, but the entire leather armor would also have a sour smell. That's why he decided to wear a set of linen clothes when he went to explore the Malaga Jungle.
He has now tasted enough bitterness.
If you get scratched by the thorns of those vines, it will feel both painful and itchy.
Roy could only Klayr to lead the way, while Roy obediently followed behind Klayr, carefully watching the surroundings.
He would use ' Minor Healing ' to treat his injuries during each rest, but he still couldn't avoid the cuts and punctures along the way.
After each break, Roy would find a place with a wide view and check his and Klayr's locations according to the map.
For Roy, the past few days in the jungle had been quite tough, with his body covered in scratches every day, which would then heal quickly.
He didn't have any scars on his body, but he did become much more proficient in ' Minor Healing '.
Klayr's days were very fulfilling. In addition to clearing the way, she also had to complete her daily jungle sketches. When she had free time, she would take out marble she had picked up from her Magic Pouch and carve a bust of Countess Amelia.
Roy was responsible for finding food for the two of them every day, which consisted almost entirely of jungle-grown fruits.
Malaga Jungle are rich in resources, especially fruit. With a little searching, you can find some delicious berries that are hard to find even in Castleton.
The specialty of the Malaga Jungle is the berries that grow at the top of trees over twenty meters high, which, when ripe, have a subtle chocolate and red wine flavor.
It took the two three days to finally find the sign-in point for the first geography class assignment.
Klayr was in pretty good condition, but Roy's linen clothes were torn to shreds.
This caused the instructor in charge of stamping the documents to frequently glance at Roy.
"Welcome, children, you have successfully found checkpoint number one."
The instructor in charge of signing in said to the two of them.
Klayr gave Roy a victory sign and then ran off to rest.
Roy took out the map, and the instructor stamped a blue seal on the first sign-in point on the map.
"I wish you all the best on your journey ahead, kids!"
With their instructors' blessings, Roy and Klayr left checkpoint number one. As they walked out of the checkpoint, they encountered other students who had come to check in.
Roy greeted them warmly.
One of the groups of elf students actually Checkpoint Two marked by Roy, so Roy, within the rules, asked that group of students about the road conditions along the way to the Checkpoint Two.
Seeing Roy's disheveled appearance, the elven students didn't hide anything from him and enthusiastically told Roy what he would encounter along the way...
Roy and Klayr then rushed to Checkpoint Two without stopping.
With the elf's kind reminder, Roy and Klayr followed in their footsteps and made their way forward more smoothly.
Especially for Klayr, not having to overcome obstacles at every step made her progress much faster...
During a rest stop, Klayr sat on a large, moss-covered rock and said to Roy, "Roy, I've done the math for you. We've already spent six days. This outdoor practice course lasts a month. You still have seven checkpoints left. If we can make sure we use each checkpoint for three days, we should still have enough time. Otherwise, I think you'll need to selectively skip a few of the more distant checkpoints."
Roy squatted down in the bushes and picked some more berries.
Because the other group of students had reminded them that it would be difficult to find food along the way, Roy decided to stock up on supplies.
The journey ahead is indeed full of unknowns, and we don't know what difficulties we will encounter next.
"Let's give it a try first. This is the shortest path I've calculated," Roy said.
He still planned to visit a few check-in points first before deciding whether to visit all of them.
Seeing Klayr holding the stone and constantly chipping away at it with a carving knife, Roy asked, "Klayr, how's your mission going?"
Klayr shrugged helplessly and said:
"Spending all day rummaging through the jungle, what inspiration can I possibly have? Right now, I'm just writing down what I see and hear each day, adding some polish, and I reckon my travelogue will be pretty much finished by the time we've reached all these checkpoints. In my spare time, I'll be carving stone statues..."
Roy said a little embarrassedly, "I'm sorry to have made you come all this way with me."
Indeed, Klayr didn't have to work so hard.
Roy was the only one who was unlucky; he not only had wilderness survival missions, but also map exploration missions...
"We're partners!" Klayr was at a loss for words when she heard Roy's apologetic words.
As the two were talking, they saw another elf squad emerge from the jungle ahead.
This elf team consists of four elf students, but one of them is being carried by his companion, so they have to stop and go along the way.
"Roy, there's a squad up ahead that seems to be in trouble. Should we go check it out?" Klayr stood up from the rock and looked in that direction.
Since we've encountered each other in the jungle, it's impossible not to help.
"Let's go take a look." Roy quickly stopped picking berries and followed Klayr toward the elf squad.
Upon entering, Roy discovered that the squad consisted of four Silver Moon Elf, all clad in exquisite Light Leather Armor. However, one of the silver-haired female elves had Linen Bandage wrapped around her right shinbone, with bloodstains seeping out, indicating that she was injured there.
What happened to you? Do you need help?
Since she had encountered the Silver Moon Elf, Klayr took the initiative to go up and ask her questions.
"Yesterday, when we were climbing over a cliff, Bertha fell down and her calf was pierced by Saber-Tooth Vine," one of the Silver Moon Elf explained to Roy.
When they looked at Roy following behind Klayr, they couldn't help but glance at him a few more times...
His clothes were so bizarre that even the homeless in Castleton wouldn't dress like that.
To the surprise of these Silver Moon Elf, it was precisely this disheveled Half-Elf who took the initiative to approach, staring at Bertha's calves, and shamelessly said, "Can I take a look? I think I can be of help!"
The Silver Moon Elf, who had just spoken, said tactfully, "I've already drunk the Life Potion."
This statement was clearly a polite way of rejecting Roy.
Roy understood perfectly, and he immediately stopped in his tracks.
Klayr, standing beside her, immediately defended her friend, saying without hesitation, "My friend is a Novice Priest. If Bertha needs treatment, Roy can examine her first. If you feel it's unnecessary, then we'll take our leave!"
Upon hearing Klayr's words, the three Silver Moon Elf opposite her all turned to look at their companion who had just refused...
The Silver Moon Elf hadn't expected Roy to be a Novice Priest, and her face flushed red. She said in a slightly guilty voice, "Um... please wait a moment, Bertha does need treatment. If possible, please help me."
Roy walked over and asked the Silver Moon Elf to find a clean spot so that the injured elf girl could sit against a tree.
As he unwrapped the Linen Bandage on her leg, he said, "Let's check the wound first. Was it cleaned before?"
"It's a puncture wound, but it didn't hit the bone. It's been cleaned with diluted Tree of Life Sap ..." the Silver Moon Elf quickly said.
He looks like he should be the squad leader.
Roy nodded, thinking that it was quite extravagant. Not only did they drink the Life Potion, but they were also cleansed with diluted sap from the Tree of Life Sap. It must be said that these treatments were very effective when there were no priests or Priest around.
Carefully peeling back the blood-stained bandage, Roy saw a bloody hole with tear marks on the elven girl's calf.
Although the wound had scabbed over, it was still bleeding profusely because it was so large and had not been stitched.
Roy quickly cast ' Minor Healing '...
In the past few days, Roy has been constantly casting this divine spell on himself, so he's really getting into it.
The spell was successful, and a string of holy light fell on the calf of the elf lady named Bertha...
The wound on his calf healed at a speed visible to the naked eye, and the Silver Moon Elf who were squatting around watching all exclaimed with joy.
"Thanks!"
The four Silver Moon Elf elves repeatedly expressed their gratitude to Roy and Klayr.
"It's nothing, it's what every Novice Priest should do."
Roy spoke calmly, while re-wrapping the wound with the Linen Bandage.
Some serious injuries suddenly became minor. The elf lady named Bertha was even able to stand up with the help of her companions, though she still walked with a limp...
