Origins and Identity

Half-Elves are born from mixed heritage. Roy identifies himself as a Half-Elf whose mother is a Silver Moon Elf, while his father was reportedly a human Bard from the Grimm Empire. His appearance is almost entirely human, despite his elven ancestry. 1 14

Elves use the collective term Blood Elf for mixed-blood elves. Silver Moon Elves are described as relatively more tolerant of human-like Half-Elves such as Roy than of some other mixed-blood elves, though this tolerance does not eliminate discrimination. 3

Appearance varies among individuals and bloodlines:

• Human-like Half-Elves — Roy has no obvious inherited elven traits and is routinely mistaken for a human. 1 14 230
• Mixed elven ancestry — Sabrina is described as having Wood Elf blood, while Moira has Dark Moon Elf blood. 3
• Elven features — Some Half-Elves retain traits such as pointed ears. 401

Society and Discrimination

Half-Elves occupy a marginalized position across much of the Elven world. They are commonly confined to poor districts, assigned undesirable work, and treated as socially inferior by pure-blood Elves. 101 668 715

In Castleton City, Silver Moon Elves control nearly 80% of the wealth while fewer than 10% participate in labor. Half-Elves perform much of the city’s manual work, including dock labor and other low-status jobs. 101

Across Silver Moon Elf cities, Half-Elves are associated with work such as:

• Night watchmen
• Gravediggers
• Porters
• Basic craftsmen
• Street vendors
• Laborers maintaining city infrastructure 715 719

This social hierarchy also creates discrimination within mixed-blood communities: Half-Elves are described as facing prejudice from other Half-Elves as well as from pure-blood Elves. 702

Religion

The Moon God Temple does not accept Half-Elves as believers. In Castleton, where Half-Elves make up more than half the population, this exclusion helped the Goddess of Freedom Temple build a substantial Half-Elf following. 130

The Goddess of Freedom Temple offered Half-Elves a religious institution outside the control of the Moon God Temple, though its Holy Radiance later disappeared and many believers withdrew. 130

Labor, Slavery, and Exploitation

Half-Elves have been heavily exploited through forced labor and slave trading, especially in the Pattington Plane.

• Slave traders and mine owners imprisoned Half-Elves in mines across the Pagisto Plateau. 259 357 433
• Many miners were kept underground for decades and became fearful of leaving even after liberation. 382
• Lord Alvis was identified as a major seller of Half-Elf slaves in the Pattington Plane. 433
• Half-Elf migrants entering the Pattington Plane became vulnerable to capture and sale because leaving the Plane was difficult. 274
• Mine owners bought and sold Half-Elf miners as routine labor assets. 433

Conditions differed between mines. Some workers received food allocations after meeting quotas, while others were severely starved and physically degraded. 357

Migration and Settlement

Unable to endure discrimination on the Elf Continent, many mixed-blood elves left by sea in search of safer lives. 3

The Pattington Plane became a major destination for Half-Elf migration because of its growing Half-Elf population, economic opportunities, and reputation for comparatively equal treatment. 534 652 668

Padesto City

Padesto City developed into a major Half-Elf population center.

Pagisto Plateau

The Pagisto Plateau was originally characterized by isolated Half-Elf villages, dangerous mining work, Magical Beasts, and persistent raids by Elf Headhunters. 308

Half-Elves there were forced to send children away to protect them from capture and enslavement in the mines. 308

Following the defeat or removal of multiple mine owners, liberated miners were given the choice to leave with supplies or remain as paid workers. At the Sudaso Mithril Mine, those who stayed were offered wages, meals, and a weekly rest day. 389

Resistance and Liberation

Half-Elf communities formed resistance forces in response to slave trading, forced labor, and restrictive policies.

• Half-Elves on the Pagisto Plateau formed a Resistance Army against Headhunters and slave traders. 330
• Half-Elf warriors liberated miners from multiple mines and drove mine owners from the plateau. 357 434
• The Half-Elf Rebel Army defeated Headhunters in the Gaxi Mountain Range and seized their strongholds. 417 421
• The Half-Elf Guard Regiment later defeated Gray Dwarf Bandit forces in the West Reef Islands. 466
• Half-Elf crews and soldiers participated in the expansion of airship fleets and maritime operations. 507 793

Roy’s rescue of mine slaves became central to his reputation among Half-Elves. Former miners describe him as the figure who pulled them “out of the abyss” and led resistance against the Highland Slavers. 401

Military and Civic Development

Liberated Half-Elves increasingly organized into formal armed forces, including the Mine Guard Regiment, Guard Regiment, Griffon Corps, and Griffon Cavalry. 421 466 682

The Half-Elf Guard forces adopted standardized equipment and increasingly operated as a disciplined army:

• Half-Elf guards used shield walls, archery formations, and Divine Magic support against Gray Dwarf Bandits. 851
• The Griffon Corps received standard military equipment, including armor, bows, and swords. 421
• The Mine Guard Regiment acquired high-grade Magic Armor through Silver Pegasus Legion channels. 686

Under Roy’s leadership, Half-Elves established relatively free settlements in the Pattington Plane, attracting migrants from across the Elf Continent. 728
