High Priest Reed's Promise
Stepping out of Samp Leather Shop, across the street lies Heroes Square, where a colossal elf sculpture stands, its female elf statue pointing its sword towards the Endless Sea...
Edith and her friends left in a carriage, and Klayr followed them back to the Elf Academy.
Roy, on the other hand, was to take Long Carriage from here back to the Cross Street Intersection of Brown Street in the Lower District, and then walk to the Goddess of Freedom Temple.
While Roy was waiting for his ride, a group of young priests stood on the high steps next to the Tree of Life on the north side of Heroes Square —at the entrance of the Moon God Temple. Two of the priests were the same ones who had ambushed Roy in the Lower District yesterday. At this moment, the two young priests of the Moon God Temple discovered that Roy was actually standing in Heroes Square.
"Should we arrest him?" one of the Moon God Temple priests whispered to his companion.
Priest Sandike had intended to take the boy back to the Moon God Temple yesterday, but unfortunately, there were so many Half-Elf and Guard Squad Elf Ranger crowding the streets of the Lower District, and they even got involved. In the end, due to public opinion, Priest Sandike let the boy go.
But now he's actually appearing in Heroes Square, which happens to be right at the entrance to the Moon God Temple...
Once it's delivered right to your lips, there's no reason to let it go.
The other young priest hesitated, then whispered, "Didn't Priest Sandike say... he wouldn't arrest anyone?"
The young priest raised an eyebrow and said smugly, "If we can bring him to the Moon God Temple, guess what Priest Sandaike will think?"
The two young priests of the Moon God Temple exchanged a glance, both seeing the spark in each other's eyes.
The two young priests whispered a few words to their companions, then quickly left the Moon God Temple, passed through the Tree of Life and the Central Avenue, and went straight to Heroes Square.
It was noon, and the square was hot and sunny, so the elves sought refuge in the shade.
Therefore, there were no elves in the square. The stone slabs were whitish from the scorching sun, and the two priests of the Moon God Temple who quickly surrounded Roy stood out conspicuously, even though they could have been hiding in the shadows...
As soon as they reached the square, Roy noticed them, and Roy also realized that they had surrounded them from both sides, clearly with ill intentions.
High Priest Reed reassured Roy yesterday, saying that the priests of the Moon God Temple would certainly not dare to do anything excessive again, and only then did Roy feel at ease going out into the street.
Unexpectedly, I ran into those two young priests from the Moon God Temple again in Heroes Square...
Roy made a quick decision, turned around and ran away.
This is downtown Castleton City, and also the highest point in the city. To get back to the Lower District, you need to run a long way down the slope along the long street. Ahead, there are rows of treehouses, each at least twenty meters apart, and these giant trees are not arranged in a regular pattern; it's a whole forest of giant trees...
The clearing in the woods was covered with lawn and neatly trimmed shrubs.
Two young priests quickly caught up from behind.
The young priests chased after a Half-Elf, and even the Silver Moon Elf on the street, though they noticed, merely looked on in surprise; none of Silver Moon Elf ran alongside the priests.
Most elves believed the priests were probably catching a thief... a young thief.
Roy circled around a fountain pool, and taking advantage of the momentary cover provided by the fountain statue, he had a sudden inspiration, climbed over a low wall of bushes, and instantly plunged into a patch of flowers in front of him.
Although these roses were covered in fine thorns, Roy had already gotten used to the thorny bushes after living in the Malaga Jungle for a month.
He hid his body inside, trying to evade the pursuit of the two priests of the Moon God Temple.
In fact, the two young priests did not notice the flower bushes. When they chased Roy to the fountain, they found that he had disappeared. Knowing that they had lost him, they turned around and went back to the Moon God Temple.
Just then, a passing Silver Moon Elf pointed to the low wall of bushes and shouted to the two young priests, "Are you looking for that human boy? He just climbed over here and hid in the flower bushes!"
The young priest of the Moon God Temple immediately ran towards the low wall of bushes...
When they arrived at the low wall along the bushes and saw Roy crouching in the flower bushes, they just happened to see the last trace of the divine rune disappear from Roy's hand...
A golden fist merged into Roy's body.
' Strength Blessing '
Roy suddenly burst out of the flower bushes; he had no intention of fighting these two priests of the Moon God Temple here.
In the Elven Kingdom, the priests of the Moon God Temple hold a very special position, and most Silver Moon Elf are believers of the Moon God Temple.
Roy ran towards the street...
All the main streets in Castleton are sloping, and some are so steep that steps, ramps and railings are installed on the sidewalks.
Roy jumped onto the white stone railing next to the fountain, just like he was Obstacle Course in the Elf Academy Training Ground. He ran forward a short distance on the stone railing, then ran a few more steps, put his hands on a wall, easily jumped over the stone wall, and landed on the steps.
The young priest immediately gave chase, but he couldn't keep up with the energetic Roy at all. He fell behind, panting and looking frustrated.
They stopped by the roadside, panting, having already given up on continuing the chase.
A carriage stopped beside the young priest. The exquisite carriage door was pushed open from the inside by a Silver Moon Elven Nobles Elven Nobles, who stretched out a hand to the two priests of the Moon God Temple and said loudly, "Get in!"
The young priest immediately boarded the carriage, which sped along the street, rounded a winding slope ahead, and soon caught up with Roy ahead.
Roy wiped the sweat from his forehead and had no choice but to grit his teeth and go back into the treehouse woodland.
The treehouse woodland where the Silver Moon Elf live is filled with bushes and a network of roads.
The road was winding, and the carriage couldn't move along it.
The carriage took a detour and stopped in front of Roy. A young priest jumped out of the carriage, and Roy glanced back. Another young priest caught up from behind, and the two men stared intently at Roy.
The carriage didn't leave immediately either; the Silver Moon Nobles inside was leaning against the window, watching the spectacle with great interest.
He sat there smugly, as if he had done something extremely glorious.
Roy had no intention of surrendering. He knew the two priests couldn't outrun him, so while the young priest began chanting incantations, he ran again, dashing down the slope through the woods.
Before the young priests could finish casting their ' Starfall Spell,' Roy had already run off.
As streaks of starlight descended from the sky, Roy had already run out of the starfall's range. The silver moon Elven Nobles was utterly speechless at the two young priests...
As you run downhill, the path through the treehouse woodland is both winding and flat.
Roy ran all the way to the Cliffside Avenue before being overtaken by a carriage that rushed up from behind.
Cliffside Avenue is the dividing line between the Upper District and the Lower District, with a cliff twenty or thirty meters high separating the two areas. This avenue above the cliff is also a major thoroughfare in Castleton City. A speeding carriage plunges down the avenue above.
Many carriages on the main road were forced to stop, and chaos ensued instantly.
Roy ran to the edge of the cliff. Ahead of him was a 20-meter drop, with a narrow alley and rows of small houses at the bottom.
Two priests stepped out of the carriage again and blocked Roy on the outward-protruding viewing platform of the Cliffside Avenue. Some elves, who were forced to stop their carriages, also looked over.
One of the young priests, carrying a magic book, slowly approached and said to the panting Roy:
"The Lower District, a place where the moonlight doesn't reach. If you're willing to jump down, we won't chase you."
Another young priest, dragging a chain in his hand, tried to approach from the side. He chanted a rapid incantation, and a pale blue crescent moon slowly formed in front of his chest. As the crescent moon disappeared, it appeared above Roy's head, and a clear moonlight fell, instantly enveloping Roy.
Rays of light, like sharp arrows, fell from above. One ray passed right past Roy's cheek, sending a burning sensation through him.
Roy wiped his face and discovered that there was a cut on his cheek.
He looked up and saw only a crescent moon floating in the dark sky above him.
A beam of moonlight shone out again, and Roy had no time to dodge; another wound was corroded on his arm.
The priest of the Moon God Temple stepped forward, preparing to place the chains in his hand on Roy's head. A beam of holy light fell on Roy, and the moonlight above his head immediately melted away like ice and snow.
Roy saw a familiar figure emerge from the crowd—it was High Priest Reed, dressed in his Priest robes. He walked up to the two priests of the Moon God Temple and asked them in a calm voice:
"There's something I've never understood: what mistake did he make?"
Seeing that the Lunar Eclipse had been averted so easily, the two priests of the Moon God Temple looked at High Priest Reed in surprise and asked in a flustered manner, "Who are you?"
"Priest Reed of the Goddess of Freedom Temple," High Priest Reed said calmly, standing before the two priests of the Moon God Temple.
"He is a monster..."
Before the young priest could speak, his companion quickly covered his mouth.
High Priest Reed stared sternly at the two priests of the Moon God Temple.
Several carriages were parked on the main road nearby, and many Silver Moon Elf opened their windows, curiously looking this way...
"You two have made baseless accusations against the clergy of the Goddess of Freedom Temple. As the High Priest of the Castle Town Goddess of Freedom Temple, I will put you on trial!"
High Priest Reed raised his scepter, and a divine rune quickly appeared in front of him before dissipating.
' Hammer of Judgment '
It was a hammer formed from holy light, which suddenly appeared in front of the two priests of the Moon God Temple Moon God Temple, and struck one of them heavily in the chest, knocking him to the ground.
Another priest from the Moon God Temple tried to run, but the hammer appeared behind him the next second and slammed into his back.
The young priest collapsed to the ground...
