Negotiation Team
Roy stayed at an inn in Padesto City with his Adventure Group for two days. Since Roy had just been promoted to Priest and lacked control over his own power, Instructor Nora conducted a series of targeted training sessions for Roy during those two days, basically to help Roy gain a clear understanding of himself.
For the past two days, every morning Roy has dragged Instructor Nora out of bed to run along the forest path under the treehouse in the misty morning fog.
Only after pushing Roy to his physical limit would he stop and walk slowly, then feel the power continuously growing in his body.
Every morning, Sabrina would run with Roy.
When Roy reached his physical limit, Sabrina only had a light sheen of sweat on her forehead and was breathing slightly...
The three of them walked through a clearing in the woods and came to an open space.
There should have been a lot of treehouses here, but they were mostly inhabited by Half-Elf. After the Half-Elf left, the treehouses were completely abandoned, and the forest clearings were empty, with not a single elf in sight.
Instructor Nora had Roy walk slowly around the field until he was fully recovered.
Then she beckoned Sabrina to the center of the open field, holding a short sword and Round Shield, signaling Sabrina to take the initiative to attack.
Sabrina gripped the sword hilt with both hands, took a sudden step forward, her body lunging forward two meters, and swung the Heavy Sword with a sharp whistling sound, slashing towards Instructor Nora...
Instructor Nora sidestepped and slammed the small Round Shield in her hand against the side of the Heavy Sword.
Sabrina, of course, wouldn't let Instructor Nora knock the Heavy Sword away. She flipped her wrist, turning the Heavy Sword sideways and sweeping it towards Instructor Nora's waist.
Instructor Nora quickly raised her short sword to parry the Heavy Sword...
The shield in his hand slammed down towards Sabrina's face, but Sabrina seemed to have anticipated it, and suddenly pulled back, avoiding Instructor Nora's Shield Strike.
Every morning, Instructor Nora and Sabrina would practice in this clearing in the woods.
At first, Sabrina was a bit reserved and was almost always forced to defend during practice. The Heavy Sword is not suitable for defense, so it was full of holes and Nora frequently broke through her defense.
Instructor Nora realized this and thus instructed Sabrina to attack...
Sabrina's offensive was like the ocean tide, always surging in wave after wave.
She wouldn't defeat her opponent all at once. Once she gained the upper hand, her offensive would be relentless, with the phantoms of Heavy Sword pressing down on her like Mount Colossus.
Instructor Nora Heavy Sword with difficulty, her arm aching slightly. She stared at the Heavy Sword in Sabrina's hand and said, "Very good, Sabrina. Keep it up. Your offense is much better than your defense."
Sabrina planted her Heavy Sword in the ground and sat under the tree, panting heavily.
Once Roy had recovered enough, Nora called out to Roy, "Roy, come here, let me see if your close combat has improved!"
Knowing this was a rare opportunity, Roy quickly stood up, dusted off the dirt on his backside, and grabbed a Wooden Stick.
Reaching the opposite side of Instructor Nora, he didn't want to waste any time. He raised the Wooden Stick in his hand, took half a step forward, and smashed it down on Instructor Nora's face.
Nora raised her shield to block, but the wooden stick in her hand pierced Roy's ribs, causing both pain and numbness...
Roy gasped in pain.
"When attacking, you must also be wary of the enemy's counterattack..."
Instructor Nora found it much easier to fight Roy.
She kept blocking Roy's attacks and pointed out the flaws in his moves.
Roy, with Wooden Stick in one hand and a shield in the other, slowly learned the basic movements taught to him by Instructor Nora. His combat talent was much worse than Sabrina's. His physical fitness was okay, but his movements seemed very stiff, at least in Instructor Nora's eyes.
Instructor Nora and Moira have different fighting styles. Moira usually relies on her agility and excellent balance to move around Roy's body and launch attacks from his blind spots.
Instructor Nora stood opposite Roy, and whenever Roy swung his stick, she would find an opening in his Roy and quickly counterattack.
He will then tell Roy the correct way to defend...
And so, Roy spent two painful yet fulfilling days at a hotel in Padesto City.
During these two days, Woods left the hotel very early each day and did not return until evening.
He wanted to find a mark left by his elders in Padesto City, but after two days he only found a blurry symbol behind a bench in the Fountain Square, which looked like it had been left a long time ago.
Back at the hotel, Woods was in a low mood.
"Don't worry, your uncle probably went to the Griffon Bulwark Mountain Range ..." Roy said, sitting down next to Woods.
Woods said quietly, "My uncle is a bit of a straightforward person, and I'm just a little worried about him."
In the past two days, Elf Officer from the Seventeenth Legion have been visiting Miss Christine at the inn one after another.
Among these young officers were some members of the Swynborne Family, many of whom were Miss Christine's cousins, as well as some young Elven Nobles from Castleton City. They had all come to catch up with Miss Christine when they heard that she had come to Padesto City.
As the Earl Swynborne's most beloved youngest daughter, Miss Christine was never short of suitors in the young aristocratic circles of Castleton City.
This annoyed Miss Christine, but she couldn't refuse these social interactions; otherwise, once labeled as 'arrogant and rude,' it would be incredibly difficult to shake off the label...
Fortunately, the Negotiation Team that came from Buenos City finally arrived in Padesto.
That afternoon, Instructor Nora led the Adventure Group members to the Negotiation Team's temporary residence. This large treehouse had once been the property of a Silvermoon Elven Nobles Elven Nobles, who had moved to Tobermory with his entire family three weeks earlier, exchanging his territory and property here for a Teleportation Portal pass.
This wooden building, constructed in the treetops and resembling a castle, is now nominally the property of the Seventeenth Silver Pegasus Legion.
This towering tree is seventy or eighty meters tall, with an umbrella-shaped canopy resembling a verdant mountain peak. The castle-like treehouse is hidden within its canopy, with only a few terraces and windows peeking out from the dense foliage.
A squad of Elf Warrior stood guard at the entrance of the treehouse. Instructor Nora handed the letter of appointment to one of the warrior captains.
The warrior captain sent an Elf Warrior inside to deliver the message.
Before long, a young Elf Officer descended the stairs. However, his silver armor was somewhat different from the standard armor of the Seventeenth Silver Pegasus Legion. His chest badge featured three ears of wheat symbolizing a bountiful harvest, Mist Jungle, and a spiral-patterned unicorn.
He glanced at the name on the letter of appointment before addressing everyone. "Good afternoon, everyone. Which one of you is Commander Nora?"
Instructor Nora stepped forward and said to the Elf Officer, "I am Nora."
"I am Terrence, the captain of the Guard Squad for this Negotiation Team. After you join the Negotiation Team, you will need to be temporarily assigned to the Guard Squad Guard Squad and accept its assignments. Is that alright?"
Captain Terrence's Elven Language pronunciation was very clear, but his speech was slow, and it was not the accent of Castleton City.
"All nine members of the Castleton Elf Academy Adventure Group are present and ready to be deployed by the Negotiation Team's Guard Squad at any time," Instructor Nora said.
Captain Terrence nodded, his gaze sweeping over each member's face, and said to them, "Come with me, your rooms have been arranged. I thought you would arrive this morning..."
Roy followed Captain Terrence into the castle-like treehouse and discovered that the treehouse was actually divided into several independent areas on the tree, connected by exquisite wooden staircases.
The Adventure Group's residence is located at the very bottom of the entire treehouse complex. This is where the Guard Squad Elf Warrior live. When they are not on patrol duty, the Guard Squad members are not allowed to wander around the treehouses above, nor can they go out at will during their free time.
There's no way around it; once you're on the Negotiation Team, this kind of thing is inevitable.
This is also why Instructor Nora was unwilling to join the Negotiation Team. If it weren't for Earl Swynborne's intervention, Instructor Nora would never have brought her Adventure Group to participate in such a matter.
After Captain Terrence left, Magician Scarlett lay on the wicker chair in the room and complained to Instructor Nora:
"Nora, you shouldn't have agreed to this job in the first place. Now look what's happened... our two-month-long, enjoyable vacation has been completely ruined!"
"The Slave Traders of Padesto City are mixed in with the Rebel Army. Once those Slave Traders leaders gain some influence within the Rebel Army, it could be a disaster for the Half-Elf Rebel Army. What we need to do now is to root them out..." Instructor Nora said to everyone.
"Nora is right, we must find a way to find them," Instructor Gru said from the side.
Roy paid no attention to what the instructors were saying; he was looking at the palace built in the tree. All the wooden planks were joined together perfectly, and the walls were carved with exquisite patterns. Although the room was simply furnished, it was very comfortable.
"This treehouse castle is so beautiful..." Roy said to Woods in a low voice as he looked out the window.
"What's the big deal? When you have the chance to go to Darnassus in the future, you'll see a city built in the trees!" Woods replied.
"Woods, have you ever been to Darnassus?" Roy asked Woods curiously.
He had heard of the Wood Elf capital more than once, but he found it hard to imagine what kind of tree could be big enough to build a city.
"Um... not yet, but I will definitely go see it in my lifetime," Woods said confidently.
"..."
During dinner, Captain Terrence informed everyone that the Negotiation Team would be departing for the Griffon Bulwark Mountain Range the next morning, and asked everyone to prepare in advance and get up early.
Only the Elf Warrior were dining in the restaurant; Roy didn't see any of the important figures from the Negotiation Team.
