Leishande's Letter
One hundred and thirty-five Chain Mail, standard longswords, and Alloy Bow were delivered at the inn.
After Roy placed boxes of weapons and armor in the treehouse, the Wooden Box filled two rooms completely.
Seeing so many weapons and armor, Langbo finally felt relieved after being anxious for the past few days.
He couldn't help but let out a soft gasp, stepped forward, hugged Roy, patted him on the back, and said, "Roy, thank you, thank you for your help."
"My friend, please don't say that. We've just completed a mutually beneficial transaction. These Magic Herbs have brought us a fortune," Roy whispered to Langbo.
Langbo's eyes lit up as he considered the possibility of continued cooperation. With Roy's support, the Half-Elf on the plateau would have the confidence to resist those Elf Headhunters.
Leishande pried open the lid of a Wooden Box, and found that the Chain Mail inside was covered with a thin layer of oiled paper. Although the Chain Mail did not look very exquisite, it was sturdy and durable enough.
Leishande grabbed a piece of Chain Mail, drew his dagger, and stabbed it hard in the abdomen. The dagger sparked as it cut through the Chain Mail, but only left a shallow mark.
He opened another Wooden Box, which contained rows of exquisite longswords. Although the longswords did not have magical glow on them, they still looked to be of very good quality.
Although the scabbard was very ordinary, when Leishande drew a longsword from it, the smooth, mirror-like blade clearly reflected Leishande face.
Langbo pulled a silver Alloy Bow from another Wooden Box. He touched the metal bowstring and found that the bowstring was extremely sharp. He had heard that archers could use bows to strangle their opponents in close combat, and this was probably the kind of bow that was being talked about.
"It's a metal shortbow. The elves don't have this kind of craftsmanship," Langbo remarked softly.
At this moment, Leishande frowned and said quietly, "But how are we going to get these weapons and armor to the Pagisto Plateau? The argali sheep we brought this time can't carry so many supplies."
The room was filled with Wooden Box, which were certainly not something the argali sheep in the backyard could carry away.
The Pagisto Plateau is so far from the Padesto City that a round trip would take at least a month and a half.
Roy was reluctant to take out the Magic Pouch that High Priest Reed had given him, but he couldn't ignore the problem facing Leishande. Roy also hoped that the herbal trade could continue, so he ran to the courtyard of the inn to discuss it with the other members of the Adventure Group.
Woods and Miss Tiffany hadn't returned yet, so Sabrina and Moira were chatting in the lobby lounge area on the first floor of the hotel.
Roy walked over somewhat embarrassed and explained the predicament that Leishande was currently facing.
The two women exchanged a glance, and Sabrina took the initiative to ask, "Roy, what are you going to do? Are you thinking of giving them two Magic Pouch?"
"I plan to give the Magic Pouch you have to them, and then I'll get you two new ones when we return to Castleton City," Roy said.
Sabrina and Moira readily took off their Magic Pouch and handed them to Roy.
"Are you sure giving them the two Magic Pouch will bring you more in return, or are you not even thinking about getting anything in return from them?"
"I plan to start a trade in Magic Herbs. They have plenty of supplies, and all we need to do is transport these Magic Herbs out of the Pattington Plane to make huge profits. It's definitely a sure-fire way to make money," Roy explained to Sabrina.
Sabrina stuffed the two Magic Belt into Roy's hands and said, "Take them."
Roy gave two Magic Belt to Leishande, and together with the argali sheep they brought, they were barely able to transport the goods.
Woods brought back some Heat Relief Grass and brewed a large pot of medicinal soup for the argali sheep to drink. The sheep recovered very quickly...
With the Elf Academy about to open, Roy didn't plan to stay in Padesto City. Leishande and his group left Padesto City in the evening. With an operating license personally signed by Earl Swynborne, the city's Elven Guard readily allowed them to pass.
Leishande and Langbo, one in front and the other behind, led a herd of argali sheep and quickly disappeared into the jungle outside the city.
Seeing that they had left Padesto City safely, Roy breathed a sigh of relief...
Watching Leishande's argali herd disappear into the twilight, Woods couldn't help but ask:
"Roy, did you just order another batch of Magic Herbs from Leishande?"
Roy turned around and led everyone into the city.
They needed to rush back to Castleton City overnight and didn't want to linger in Padesto City.
The Padesto City was quiet under the cover of night, with the occasional sound of a harp adding a touch of gentleness to the peaceful night.
Roy said to Woods, "Of course, we can't just give him those two Magic Belt for free. If we want to do business in Magic Herbs, we need a cheap and stable source of supply, and Leishande is our source."
Upon hearing Roy mention 'sources,' Woods blinked. He hesitated for a moment before saying, 'Actually, when Tiffany and I went out to buy Heat Relief Grass, we discovered that the Magic Herbs shops in the city also sell many cheap, low-level Magic Herbs at incredibly low prices...'
Roy immediately became interested and said to Woods, "Take me to see it. If possible... we'll bring back another batch of low-level Magic Herbs this time."
Miss Tiffany hesitated before asking, "Roy, do you think there's a market for low-level Magic Herbs? I've heard they're mostly used by apprentice magic apothecaries."
Roy said confidently, "What do you think would be the reason... for that merchant ship to travel all the way to the Elf Continent to buy Magic Herbs?"
Miss Tiffany frowned and thought seriously for a moment before replying, "It's possible that there's a huge shortage of Magic Herbs on their side, or it's possible that our Magic Herbs are cheaper than theirs, making it profitable for them to trade Magic Herbs."
Roy nodded and said excitedly, "That's pretty much it. I also discovered that they don't have any restrictions on the types of Magic Herbs they purchase, meaning they lack everything. So this time we'll bring back another batch and sell these low-level Magic Herbs to those human merchants to make another profit."
Many treehouses lit up, and dappled light shone down through the dense canopy.
Some plants that only unfurl their branches and leaves at night give the streets of Padesto City a different look. Those Large Leaf Shadow Grass look more like banana trees, and their main stems even glow with tiny specks of light in the darkness.
The shop assistants at the herbal medicine store were preparing to take down the "Open for Business" sign and then lock the shops, thus completing their day's work.
His hand had just touched the signboard when he heard a shout from the street in the distance, "Wait, don't close the door yet..."
The young Half-Elf stopped, turned around and looked out onto the street, which was dimly lit and almost deserted.
Two figures then appeared in the Half-Elf's sight. Woods and Roy ran breathlessly to the entrance of the trading company. The Half-Elf pointed to the sign that said "Open for Business" and said, "The trading company is closed."
Woods immediately stopped, but Roy didn't. He said to the shop assistant, "Um... I'd like to buy some Magic Herbs."
"What would you two like to buy?"
The shop assistant could only silently stop what he was doing and invite Roy and Woods into the shop.
"Silverleaf Grass and Calming Flower are both fine, and you can also buy some other Magic Herbs."
As Roy spoke, he stepped into the herbal medicine shop.
Several moonstones were embedded in the ceiling of the hall, and although the light was not very bright, the shelves against the wall could still be seen.
"..."
The shop assistant was speechless, thinking he had encountered yet another guy who made empty promises but ultimately refused to buy anything...
Sure enough, Roy stood in front of the shelf, constantly asking about the prices of various low-level herbs. After asking, he would noncommittally look at the other types of Magic Herbs, showing no intention of buying them at all.
The shop assistant, his face dark with impatience, could only suppress his frustration and answer Roy's questions one by one.
Until Roy said, "Alright, give me ten bundles of each of those Magic Herbs I just mentioned."
The shop assistant stared at Roy, mouth agape, eyes wide. He hadn't bothered to remember how many Magic Herbs Roy had mentioned, and now could only awkwardly Roy:
"Could you repeat that? The trading company might not have that much stock," the trading company clerk said.
"Okay, I'll say it again this time. If you can't remember, you can write it down: Silverleaf Grass, Calming Flower, Kudzu Root, Heather Grass ..." Roy said quickly.
The shop assistant quickly took out a piece of paper and hastily wrote down all the Magic Herbs Roy had mentioned.
After a busy period of time, the shop assistants finally finished preparing the goods.
Roy put the Magic Herbs into his Magic Pouch, then readily paid before leaving the herbal shop with everyone else.
Even after Roy and his group disappeared into the forest, the shop assistant standing at the entrance of the trading company was still a little dazed. He never expected that this guy's "just buying a little" would actually empty the entire stock of the trading company. Looking down at the heavy bag of Magic Crystal Stone in his hand, the shop assistant's heart instantly felt at ease.
If the merchant clerk hadn't explained the reason, Roy would never have guessed that the reason these cheap, low-grade Magic Herbs Magic Herbs were piling up in the merchant's shop was because the Silver Pegasus Legion didn't value them.
These low-level Magic Herbs can only be used to refine some Minor Life Potion.
The Silver Pegasus Legion equips its Elf Warrior with high-quality Life Potion, the effects of which are many times greater than those of Minor Life Potion.
It is precisely because the Silver Pegasus Legion looks down on these low-level Magic Herbs that they accumulate in the trading company.
Roy realized that since the military didn't care about these Magic Herbs Magic Herbs, doing business with them wouldn't affect their interests, which was probably exactly what Earl Swynborne wanted.
When passing through the Teleportation Portal, Roy took out two bundles of Magic Herbs. He and Woods each carried a bundle of herbs on their backs and strode to the Teleportation Portal.
This time, he handed over not only the Teleportation Pass to the Teleportation Portal, but also a Business Certificate.
Upon seeing Roy's two credentials personally signed by Earl Swynborne, the Teleportation Portal guards promptly allowed him to pass.
Even if Roy didn't take the Business Certificate, these guards wouldn't have been able to stop him...
After leaving the Pattington Plane, Roy and his group returned to Castleton City by ship.
To Roy's surprise, the merchant ship at the port had already left, and there were only two elf ships at the Deep Water Pier.
Woods stood on the deck, staring blankly at the empty berth, and asked Roy in a flustered manner, "Roy, what do we do?"
He knew perfectly well how many low-level Magic Herbs Roy had bought in Padesto City, intending to sell them to that human merchant ship to make another profit, but unexpectedly the merchant ship had left port.
Roy hadn't expected that the merchant ship would leave port so quickly.
Since he couldn't sell the Magic Herbs he had to the merchant ship, Roy could only scratch his head and say, "Tomorrow I'll try to sell them to the herbalists in town."
"Okay, I can ask Mrs. Winnie too," Woods said immediately.
"Count us in too."
Miss Tiffany, Sabrina, and Moira all spoke at the same time.
The five companions stood on the deck of the Supply Ship, their hands clasped together.
Roy looked at Moira's change in surprise, never expecting that she would agree to go out and sell Magic Herbs.
The Elf Academy has started a new semester.
Roy sells these Magic Herbs while attending school, as the city is experiencing a shortage of Magic Herbs due to the large-scale purchases made by the merchant ship in Castleton City.
Roy happened to go to the Pattington Plane during this period. They brought back low-level Magic Herbs. Many magic Potion Shop had not yet replenished their herbs. Roy went to various magic potion shops to sell low-level Magic Herbs, and each herb shop was able to keep one or two bundles.
Little by little, Roy successfully sold out all the low-level Magic Herbs he had in just half a month.
These Magic Herbs are worthless in Pattington Plane, but they can easily fetch double the price in Castleton City.
As July arrived, the rainy season began in Castleton City, and the city experienced two consecutive weeks of rain.
Recently, Roy has been diligently attending classes at the Elf Academy, occasionally heading to the Black Pearl for a short get-together.
When Roy returned home from the academy that day, he glanced at the mailbox as usual and found a letter inside. He assumed it was a letter from Ms. Belinda to let him know she was safe. He picked up the letter and realized it wasn't from Ms. Belinda. The envelope only had the mailing address on it, but no signature.
When Roy tore the letter open, he discovered it was from Leishande:
During this period, we fought several battles with the Elf Headhunters.
Although we were still at a disadvantage, the Elf Headhunters no longer dared to be so arrogant as to casually send out search teams into the mountains.
I have already transported the Magic Herbs to the Padesto City. I hope you can come to Padesto City as soon as possible to trade with me. — Leishande
