The Highland War Begins
Pattington Plane, Padesto City.
The Teleportation Portal in the Central Square continuously transported various war supplies outwards, turning the entire square into a giant warehouse.
The large amount of war supplies that the Seventeenth Silver Pegasus Legion continuously transferred to the Pattington Plane immediately caused panic among the residents of Padesto City, as the Pattington Plane had not recovered since the riot three years ago.
Whether in terms of economy, population, or other aspects such as politics and religion, it is far less developed than before.
The Moon God Temple had no intention of even building a temple here.
In recent years, the Padesto City has been under military control, Plane Teleportation Portal is in the hands of the Seventeenth Silver Pegasus Legion. The military's control over the Pattington Plane has been extremely strict.
Although the slave trade, oppression, and discrimination were gone, the entire Padesto City looked like a giant prison, Half-Elf living there felt no freedom at all.
Every breath of air here is filled with the smell of rust from shackles.
Now, the Seventeen Silver Pegasus Legion has once again begun stockpiling war supplies, clearly preparing for a major war. However, the Seventeen Silver Pegasus Legion has no plans to expand its territory, so many Half-Elf believe that the military may launch a purge against Half-Elf.
On the streets of Padesto City, one could see elven armies fully armed and ready for battle everywhere.
The vanguard of a Cavalry Vanguard Regiment of the Seventeen Silver Pegasus Legion had already left the Padesto City. Their column was very long, with the front column already embedded in the jungle, but the rear column still lingering in the forest clearing of Padesto City.
In an open-air tavern in the corner of the square, some idle Half-Elf gathered together to drink.
"Another war is about to break out..."
After drinking a glass of amber-colored fruit wine, a half -Half-Elf mumbled indistinctly.
The bartender wiped the glasses that had spilled wine, listening quietly to the chatter of the patrons.
"I heard that the Silver Pegasus Legion went to the Pagisto Plateau to help the Half-Elf there to hunt down those Highland Slavers," said a young Half-Elf, probably the only sober one among the group of drunkards.
Another half- Half-Elf looked like a consumptive, seized the opportunity to say, "In my opinion, their target is actually those mines on the plateau... cough cough cough!"
He started coughing violently before he could finish speaking.
"In any case, this will definitely help those Half-Elf."
Leishande sat in a corner, holding a glass of iced fruit wine, and muttered something that sounded like it was directed at the elves, but was actually just him comforting himself.
He then fell silent...
He didn't know whether what he was doing was right or wrong.
In short, the Half-Elf on the Pagisto Plateau are on the verge of extinction; if they do nothing, they will slowly die.
Those Elf Headhunters have begun a frenzied slaughter of Half-Elf villages, regardless of...
Seeing the Silver Pegasus Legion's Cavalry Vanguard Regiment heading towards the Pagisto Plateau, Leishande breathed a long sigh of relief.
Roy sat opposite Leishande, and at another table not far away, Sabrina, Woods, Moira, and Miss Tiffany sat together.
"I'm afraid I won't be able to deliver any more Magic Herbs for the foreseeable future," Leishande said apologetically to Roy.
He learned that Roy had registered a Magic Herbs trading company in Castleton City and had also joined the Castleton City Magic Herb Merchant Guild. However, the situation on the Pagisto Plateau was unstable, and he needed to escort a group of Half-Elf who did not want to stay on the plateau to another place. Therefore, he would not be able to help Roy transport Magic Herbs during this time.
Roy turned to look at the long army lining the street. The Elf Warrior wore exquisite armor and carried longswords and hunting bows; this was the regular army of the Silver Moon Elf.
"The Cavalry Vanguard Regiment has already headed to the Pagisto Plateau battlefield. I estimate that the headhunters there will soon be driven out of the plateau," Roy said.
Leishande nodded bitterly, his face devoid of any smile.
Roy knew exactly what Leishande was worried about, so he comforted him, saying, "If you can't stay on the Pagisto Plateau, you can move to Rampart Town."
Leishande shook his head and said, "Many elves are unwilling to leave the Pagisto Plateau. They would rather hide in the mountains than come down from the plateau."
"Uncle Leishande, are you worried that the military will launch a campaign to wipe out the Half-Elf on the plateau?" Roy immediately asked the question that was on Leishande's mind.
Leishande took a sip of the sour and bitter fruit wine with a wry smile and said, "How could I not be worried? Once the Vanguard Regiment of the Silver Pegasus Legion joins forces with the Elf Headhunters, we will truly have no way out."
Roy, however, said with certainty, "The military will not take any action against the Half-Elf. For the Silver Moon Elf military, their target this time should be those dozen or so mines on the plateau. The Highland Headhunters are actually the henchmen of those Mine Owners. If their teeth and claws are not knocked out, these Mine Owners will definitely not behave themselves. Therefore, these headhunters are destined to stand on the opposite side of the military. Recently, the topic between the Silver Moon Elf and the Half-Elf has been extremely sensitive. They will not take any action against the Half-Elf."
Before coming to the Pattington Plane, Roy had a long talk with Instructor Nora, and these suggestions were given to Roy by Instructor Nora.
When Leishande heard Roy say that, his melancholy face relaxed a lot, and he forced a smile.
Roy then added, "The Seventeenth Legion probably only has eyes for those dozen or so mines on the plateau."
"They've got their eye on those mines?"
The worry in Leishande's eyes deepened even more...
Those Mine Owners, in order to keep the mines running, turned their attention to the Half-Elf living on the Pagisto Plateau after losing their source of slaves.
Even if the military takes a liking to those mines, there will still be a shortage of miners after acquiring them.
It's estimated that the military will likely become the new Highland Headhunters...
Roy then said something he had heard from Instructor Nora: "The situation in the Silver Moon Kingdom is very delicate right now. The relationship between the Half-Elf and the Silver Moon Elf is becoming increasingly tense. I believe that the Seventeenth Silver Pegasus Legion will not exacerbate the conflict between the two sides."
Hearing Roy say that, Leishande felt a little relieved.
After sitting in the tavern for a while, Roy followed Leishande to a secluded grove Padesto City.
Because of the recent appearance of a large number of Silver Pegasus troops in Padesto City, Leishande had to be extra careful. The woods where the Transport Team was hidden were a good half-day's journey from Padesto City.
After Roy obtained the Magic Herbs, Leishande and Langbo immediately returned to the Pagisto Plateau.
Roy and a few friends returned to Padesto City, and although it was already dark, they didn't plan to find a hotel to stay in for the night.
We must return to Pattington Island today and then take a sailboat back to Castleton City. If we are delayed anywhere along the way, we will not be able to get back to Castleton City on time.
The teachers at the Elf Academy wouldn't listen to their hundreds of excuses for being late.
Everyone made their way to the Central Square, and luckily, there was a long queue in front of the Teleportation Portal, just in time for those entering Pattington Island from Padesto City.
Roy took out his Teleportation Pass and led Sabrina and the others to the back of the long queue.
"We're pretty lucky! We just made it in time," Roy said to everyone.
Sabrina and Moira looked at the mountain of supplies piled up in the square and whispered to Roy, "Is the Seventeenth Silver Pegasus Legion really planning to set out for the Pagisto Plateau?"
"They've made such a big fuss, it must be true," Roy replied.
"I heard that it was you who told Earl Swynborne about the Mine Owners and Elf Headhunters on the Pagisto Plateau that day, which made the Earl to go on an expedition?" Moira asked Roy, her big, bright eyes wide.
"Probably. I think Earl Swynborne must have done some research as well," Roy replied quietly.
"Roy, there are Elven Guard coming from the front!" Woods nudged Roy beside him and whispered a reminder.
Roy turned his head and looked at the Silver Moon Elven Guard.
The Silvermoon Elven Guard walked directly up to Roy. It was clear that the Guard Captain recognized Roy; he saluted Roy and then said, "Governor Roy, Earl Swynborne wishes to see you. Please come with us to the military headquarters!"
Roy was dumbfounded. He had come here solely to transport the last batch of Magic Herbs, and had no intention of staying in Padesto City. He hadn't even asked his teachers at the Elf Academy for leave.
If I get delayed in Padesto City, I'm destined to be unable to get back to Castleton City on time.
"Earl Swynborne wishes to see me?" Roy asked, pointing to his own nose.
"Yes," the Guard Captain replied affirmatively.
"Did you say you'd invite my companions along?" Roy asked, glancing at Sabrina, Moira, Woods, and Miss Tiffany behind him.
The Elven Guard hesitated for a moment before replying, "No, that's not the case."
Roy took out the Teleportation Pass and said to the elven Guard Captain, "Then let them return to the Elf Continent, and I'll go with you to see Earl Swynborne, okay?"
The Guard Captain nodded in agreement, "Okay."
The elven Guard Captain then led a few people to the Teleportation Portal, where they were able to cut in line and Teleportation Portal.
The group looked at Roy with some concern, none of them willing to step into the Teleportation Portal.
Roy said to Sabrina, "It's alright. Earl Swynborne probably just wants to know something about the Pagisto Plateau Pagisto Plateau. After all, I've been there before. You guys should go back to Castleton City first, since you can't miss your classes at the Elf Academy."
He turned to Woods and said, "Woods, remember to process our Magic Herbs promptly."
"I will, Roy," Woods said.
"If I need to stay in the Pattington Plane for a while, I will write to you," Roy said as he walked up to Moira.
Unexpectedly Moira hugged Roy tightly before following Sabrina into the Teleportation Portal.
