Supply Line in the Rear
Even though the North Mithril Mine was besieged by headhunters for three days, and all the Half-Elf Warrior were fighting bloody battles on the City Wall, the Mithril Mine in the backyard did not stop working. The huge furnace was still flowing with molten metal. The molten metal flowing out of the furnace was clearly layered, with the Mithril at the bottom being the finest.
It must be said that Qian Ning does have unique insights into managing mining farms.
Moreover, her courage in standing atop the city walls and leading the Half-Elf Warrior in resisting the Highland Slavers is even more commendable.
Prior to this, these Mine Owners had almost a cooperative relationship with the Highland Slavers. The headhunters provided the Mine Owners with Elf Slaves, and the Mine Owners would provide the headhunters with weapons, living supplies, and so on.
Qian Ning's eyes were bloodshot, indicating that he hadn't slept much in the past few days.
The Half-Elf Warrior on the City Wall also looked very tired. After seeing the headhunters driven away by the Griffon Corps, they cheered on the city wall for a while, but they didn't even bother to eat. Many Half-Elf Warrior leaned against the battlements, hugged their weapons to their chests, and fell asleep in their armor.
Many Half-Elf Warrior didn't even have time to treat their wounds; they were simply given a bandage.
Roy couldn't stay at the Mithril Mine for long. The Griffon Corps drove the headhunters north and then turned back to rest on the City Wall of the Mithril Silver Mine Castle.
During this time, Roy quickly treated the severely injured Half-Elf Warrior.
It must be said that the Holy Light Art is very effective; under the light, the wound healed at a speed visible to the naked eye.
The Griffon Corps rested for an hour at the castle in the Mithril Mine. Roy was about to leave the Mithril Mine when the Half-Elf waiting for Roy to treat them had already lined up all the way to the second floor.
Roy washed his hands in the basin of water in the corner and looked apologetically at the Half-Elf Warrior waiting at the door.
He had a long wound on his arm, and his sleeve was stained red with blood. Seeing Roy's apologetic look, the Half-Elf Warrior looked somber, but still silently made way for the doorway.
"I'm sorry, I don't have time to treat your injuries this time..." Roy said apologetically.
Sabrina, who was following behind Roy, tugged at Miss Tiffany. After exchanging glances, Sabrina spoke to Roy, saying, "Roy, why don't Tiffany and I stay? We might be able to help out."
Roy looked at Miss Tiffany.
Miss Tiffany covered her forehead with her hand, looking helpless, and said, "Hydrotherapy has some healing power, but you must not be afraid of pain..."
Seeing that Miss Tiffany did not refuse, Roy said, "Sabrina, Tiffany, you two stay here. We should be back before dark."
Qian Ning Sitney was surprised that the Half-Elf female swordsman and the mage among Roy's group would volunteer to stay, and quickly gave them grateful looks.
After saying that, Roy didn't linger, since a large flock of griffins was still waiting for him on the City Wall.
Roy strode up the City Wall and sat on Kaka's griffin.
Under the command of the village chief Tiprado, the griffins leaped forward one after another along the edge of the City Wall, then spread their wings and flapped them twice, the enormous recoil propelling them high into the air...
Kaka's griffin carried him and Roy, and as they passed through the clouds, Roy could feel the enormous griffin straining its entire body.
Kaka wrapped his arms around the griffin's neck, burying his face in its thick mane to escape the cold wind at high altitude.
As the castle beneath his feet shrank, Roy felt the northern mountainous region of the Sudaso Mountain Range suddenly become clearly visible before his eyes.
All around were griffins constantly rising into the sky, these Half-Elf hunters skillfully riding them through the clouds...
On the City Wall of the North Mithril Mine, Sabrina and Miss Tiffany watched as Roy and the Griffon Corps flew further and further away...
Then Miss Tiffany turned around, stared at Qian Ning Sitney, who was dressed as a noblewoman, and extended her hand to her, saying, "Qian Ning, my name is Tiffany, and her name is Sabrina. I am Water-based Mage, skilled in hydrotherapy, and can perform simple healing tasks. She is a Sword Dancer and can take over the guard duty on the City Wall. You can get some rest before dark tonight; we'll keep watch for you here..."
After Miss Tiffany finished speaking, she casually took Qian Ning's arm and walked down the City Wall.
"Okay, thank you for your help." Only then did Qian Ning realize that Miss Tiffany seemed to be somewhat different from the other elven women.
She could even see faint scales on Miss Tiffany's neck, very faint, but clearly visible...
"Sabrina, this City Wall is yours to handle," Miss Tiffany said without turning her head.
Since they had come with Roy, Qian Ning did not refuse.
Besides, Qian Ning really wanted to get a good night's sleep; she didn't know how she had managed to stay awake these past few days.
As she descended the steps, she could still hear Sabrina's voice commanding the Half-Elf Warrior: "We don't need so many Half-Elf guards on the City Wall for now. Your group of elves stays here, the rest of Half-Elf go back to your rooms to rest..."
After leaving the North Mithril Mine, the Griffon Corps flew straight into the clouds. Just as Chief Tiprado had said, once inside the clouds, they could clearly feel how strong the wind was. The griffins could glide forward by simply spreading their wings and using the wind. The Griffon Corps flew out of the Sudaso Mountain Range and arrived at the First Mine in just three hours.
This was the first mine Roy took over. When the Cavalry Vanguard Regiment captured this place, the Grantham Mine Owners was caught off guard and handed over the entire mine to the Silver Pegasus Legion. When Roy took over later, the military supplies stored in the mine's warehouse were basically untouched.
Although there aren't many Half-Elf here, the warehouse is the best preserved.
The Grantham Mine Owners had stockpiled a lot of military supplies, including some high-quality weapons and armor, as well as a large quantity of arrows. Moreover, the arrowheads, shafts, and fletchings were stored separately, so when needed, they could simply be glued together.
Roy's main purpose in coming to the First Mine was to take away this batch of arrows.
Before Commander Berkeley left, he left Roy a batch of military supplies, including a batch of arrows.
However, the fighting at the North Black Iron Mine has been intense recently, consuming a large number of arrows. The Griffon Corps's current tactic is to rain arrows down from the sky. Although each hunter in the Griffon Corps has at least two Fletched Arrow, they have been unable to collect the Fletched Arrow scattered on the battlefield in recent battles.
Therefore, new arrows must be constantly replenished...
Roy had Kaka fly ahead and land on the City Wall first.
Upon seeing Roy's figure, the Half-Elf Warrior on the Arrow Tower immediately informed Langbo downstairs.
No headhunters have been found at the Spinel Mine yet, and the spinel mining is progressing smoothly. After all, professional tasks should be done by professionals. Once these Gray Dwarf are subdued, they are very efficient at their work.
Upon hearing his subordinate's report, Langbo rushed to the City Wall.
He knew Roy, Kaka, Klayr, and Little Eugene., and hugged them all.
Langbo looked at Roy with delight.
"Roy, I thought you'd be staying on the front lines. I didn't expect you to come back at this time." Langbo said to Roy, inviting him to rest inside the fortress.
"Langbo, arrange some food for these Griffon Corps hunters," Roy said to him.
"I've already started preparing!" Langbo said.
Then Langbo asked Kaka, "Kaka, what's it like at the front?"
"We saw several thousand Highland Slavers in the Gaxi Mountain Range, and there were still large groups of headhunters continuously crossing the valleys in the middle of the Gaxi Mountain Range ..." Kaka said in a low voice.
Langbo was immediately dumbfounded. The number of Half-Elf in the southern part of the Pagisto Plateau probably didn't even exceed ten thousand.
There are now several thousand headhunters venturing into the heart of the plateau. Such a large number of Highland Slavers is not something that the Half-Elf of the plateau can withstand.
Langbo immediately realized that the situation at the front must be very tense, so he turned to Roy and asked:
"What do you need me to do now that you've flown back from the front lines?"
"We're here to take a batch of military supplies with us, so we don't have time to stay here. Take me to the warehouse," Roy said calmly to Langbo.
Chief Tiprado did not come along. Instead, he led a squad of griffins to hunt Unicorn Wild Ox in the wilderness opposite the fortress. The 150 griffins consumed a lot of food every day, as they preferred to eat fresh meat.
Fortunately, the plateau has no shortage of herbivores, making it easier for griffins to hunt.
Knowing that Roy was busy, Langbo took him directly to the warehouse on the first floor of the fortress and opened Warehouse No. 1, which contained military supplies. The weapons and armor inside had been almost completely removed by Roy. It was these military supplies that enabled Roy to successfully assemble the Guard Squad in the Spinel Mine.
The warehouse shelves contained a large number of Wolf Fang Arrowhead in some large crates. A single large Wooden Box would contain at least tens of thousands of arrowheads, and there were nearly twenty such large crates in the warehouse.
In addition, there were bundles of ironwood arrow shafts, and some Forest Bow on the shelves in the warehouse, though not many.
Roy had the Half-Elf Warrior move all the Fletched Arrow parts into the yard, along with over fifty forest hunting bows, a large box of daggers, boots, water bottles, and other such items.
The Half-Elf hunters first ate a meal in the dining hall on the second floor, and after they came out of the restaurant, they went to the courtyard.
To these Half-Elf hunters, Roy had only one thing to say:
Take as much as you can!
All the Half-Elf hunters were in an uproar. They had never been so extravagant before. In order to take away more Fletched Arrow, they practically took out the leather pouches that contained their packs from the griffins, stuffed them full of arrowheads and tail feathers, and hung bundles of arrow shafts on both sides of the saddle.
The Half-Elf hunters were still a bit reserved; they all carried daggers, some wore shoes, and others had water bottles hanging from their waists.
So nobody took the brand-new daggers, tall leather boots, and flat-mouthed kettles...
Roy instructed Langbo to arrange for these items to be distributed to every Half-Elf hunter.
Roy then went to the food storage warehouse. Since the griffins couldn't carry any more cargo, Roy put all the Elf Biscuit from the First Mine into his Magic Pouch.
During wartime, nothing is as convenient as Elf Biscuit.
Almost every griffin carries two heavy, enormous backpacks, in addition to bundles of ironwood arrow shafts.
Roy left Klayr at the First Mine, figuring out the time would be right for Leishande to send the supplies over.
Roy simply couldn't wait here.
Before leaving, Roy instructed Langbo to hand over all the spinel currently in the First Mine to Klayr, as he intended to take this batch of spinel with Leishande's caravan to Padesto City.
Besides these spinels, Klayr also had hundreds of letters written home by Half-Elf.
Now that the Pattington Plane Teleportation Portal is sealed, the Half-Elf can no longer communicate normally, but Roy promised Half-Elf that he would help them deliver these letters to their families.
The only way is for Klayr to take these letters to Castleton City and mail them from Castleton City, so that the letters can fly to all parts of the Elf Continent without any hindrance.
"Langbo, tell Leishande to make sure Klayr is taken to Padesto City first, and stay Padesto City for two days. Have Klayr try to get some Elf Biscuit," Roy instructed Langbo.
"Don't worry, since we got the trade permit, Leishande's caravans no longer need to hide in Padesto City," Langbo said to Roy.
"Roy ..." Klayr called out hesitantly.
"Try to get as much Tree of Life Sap as possible. Like Elf Biscuit, it's very helpful to Elf Warrior. If you can't get it through normal channels, buy it on the Black Market. Make sure to spend all the Magic Crystal Stone you get in exchange, and then send the supplies to Padesto City," Roy instructed Klayr.
Take care on your journey!
Klayr didn't say anything. She knew she was now shouldering a heavy responsibility. Before Roy boarded the griffin, she hugged him goodbye.
The Griffon Corps took off from the First Mine at noon and headed north.
When passing the Second Mine, Roy made sure Kaka flew lower.
As Roy flew overhead, Roy saw that the dual-channel elevator for the Second Mine was taking shape. However, there weren't many Half-Elf working on the site. Instead, a group of Half-Elf were practicing archery at the archery Training Ground in front of the castle.
In fact, Roy had planned to transfer another hundred Half-Elf Warrior from the Second Mine, but the Griffon Corps was fully loaded with military supplies and probably couldn't carry these Half-Elf Warrior, so he abandoned the plan and didn't even stay at the Second Mine.
On the contrary, the Half-Elf Warrior standing on the City Wall of the Second Mine saw flocks of griffins flying overhead and hurriedly waved their hands towards the sky...
