Wochak Mountain Mithril Mine
'Is there any other choice?'
The Mine Owner Jerome asked himself this question.
The answer is 'no'.
Refusing would mean that he and his family would be sent to the courthouse in Padesto City.
Rather than doing that, it's better to stay put in this Iron Mine.
"I promise you, Roy, the Mine Owners."
The Mine Owner Jerome hesitated for a moment before agreeing.
Roy stood beside a furnace the size of an earthen stove, watching iron ore burning in the glowing coke. He smiled faintly at the Mine Owner Jerome and said gently, "You can call me Boss Roy, just like them."
This is probably the most dilapidated mine on the Pagisto Plateau, and possibly the cleanest mine on the entire plateau.
Unfortunately, this Mine Owner Jerome turned out to be a clever Half-Elf, so Roy easily brought Mine Owner Jerome under his wing...
At this moment, all the Half-Elf miners in the mine were summoned to the mine's courtyard. When they saw that the courtyard was full of Half-Elf Warrior Half-Elf Warrior heard them say that they were now free, they cheered with joy.
When they heard that the headhunters of the Northern Plateau had once again been driven back to the Gazan Ancestral Land in the northernmost mountains of the plateau, many Half-Elf miners felt a surge of excitement.
Many Half-Elf miners inquired with the Half-Elf Warrior about the situation on the Pagisto Plateau and the state of Padesto City.
When they heard that Lord Alvis had been sent to the court in Buenos City, the largest slave trading group in the Pattington Plane was declared completely destroyed, and the Padesto City had once again become the largest gathering place for Half-Elf in the Pattington Plane, some Half-Elf miners wanted to return to Padesto City from the Pagisto Plateau...
Of course, for these Half-Elf miners, such a long journey must have been full of hardships and dangers.
Some miners, upon hearing that many Half-Elf lived in the Southern Plateau, immediately expressed their desire to live Southern Plateau for a period of time.
Some miners have even gotten used to this mining life and want to stay in the mine to continue mining.
However, almost no Half-Elf miners stood up to criticize Mine Owner Jerome. The reason was not that Mine Owner Jerome was so good to them, but that Mine Owner Jerome often set an example by going into the mine almost every day to check on the situation inside. Occasionally, he would eat and live with the Half-Elf miners in the mine, which earned him their Half-Elf trust.
This Iron Mine, located beneath the mountains, doesn't contain the Black Iron Mine of the Gaxi Mountain Range. It doesn't produce Magic Black Iron; it only yields the most ordinary iron ore. The smelted iron ingots can be used to forge weapons, but without the addition of Magic Metal, it's impossible to forge high-quality magical weapons.
However, according to the Mine Owner Jerome, even more valuable magic iron ore has appeared in this Iron Mine, but the output is extremely rare. In the more than 100 years that the Mine Owner Jerome has been operating this mine, he has only dug out three pieces of magic iron ore.
If it weren't for these three pieces of magic iron ore, this Iron Mine would probably have gone out of business long ago.
After capturing the dilapidated Iron Mine, Roy did not stay there; the Mine Guard continued to advance eastward along the mountain ridge.
Before leaving, the Mine Owner Jerome handed Roy a Parchment Scroll. It was a small map that only showed the mountain range where the Iron Mine was located. Besides the Mine Owner Jerome, if you continued eastward, you would find three more similar Iron Mine. According to the Mine Owner Jerome, these Iron Mine were in similar operating conditions to his own and were about to go out of business.
There was nothing that could be done about it; the Silver Pegasus Legion had sealed off the Teleportation Portal to the Pattington Plane, restricting trade within Pattington Plane.
No matter how many Metal Ingots these Mine Owners produce, without merchants to buy them, these Metal Ingots are just a pile of scrap iron...
Following the names on the list, Roy went from mine to mine, and sure enough, these Mine Owners were similar to the Mine Owner Jerome. Perhaps because life was tough in the Northlands, they didn't treat the Half-Elf miners as badly.
Of course, almost all Mine Owners had some connection with the Headhunters Tribe near the mines, and they would regularly send ironware to the Headhunters Tribe in order to maintain their relationship.
It wasn't particularly close, but it wasn't bad either, after all, we were making a living on someone else's turf.
The mines provide these Headhunters Tribe with ironware, arrowheads, War Blade, and skinning knives. Some are provided as finished products, and sometimes iron ingots are also provided. The headhunters are not good at forging, but they have learned some basic weapon repair skills over the years.
However, upon hearing that the Half-Elf had conquered the Northern Plateau, these Headhunters Tribe hurriedly fled to the Gazan Ancestral Land to seek refuge.
Roy's wait in the Tianpu Canyon was rewarded with the easy recapture of most of the Northern Plateau.
They acquired four Iron Mine without much effort. However, although these Iron Mine looked quite ordinary, the Mine Owners were not as pure as the Mine Owner Jerome, and they did not have the same prestige among the Half-Elf Mine Owner Jerome.
Therefore, Roy did not give the three Mine Owners a chance to talk, but instead sent them directly back to the courthouse in Padesto City.
Taking advantage of the opportunity to send the three Mine Owners back to the court, Roy also transported away most of the iron ingots accumulated over the years from the four mines, along with a group of Half-Elf miners who longed for life in the Padesto City.
Roy's promise to them was that if they simply followed the caravan, they would reach the Padesto City.
Besides these four Iron Mine, further north, beyond a crisscrossing mountain range known to headhunters as ' Wochak,' meaning a range resembling the teeth of Wind Wolves.
In this chaotic mountainous region, there were actually two Mithril Mine that looked quite large.
It must be said that the entire Pagisto Plateau is a region densely populated with mineral veins...
There is a Mithril Mine in the Sudaso Mountain Range, but I didn't expect there to be two Mithril Mine in the Wochak Mountain Area here.
The Mine Owners Mine Owners who were able to occupy the Mithril Mine were all quite resourceful. These two Mine Owners had built their mines like castles, which housed not only Half-Elf miners but also Gray Dwarf and Dark Moon Elf elves...
It seemed that every Mithril Ingot was stained with the blood of some elven miners. When Roy led the Mine Guard to the first mine, the Mine Owners even tried to organize Mine Private Army to resist.
When Roy's Griffon Corps appeared over the Mithril Mine, the Mine Owners immediately made a decision: to open the castle gates.
The headhunters in the Wochak Mountain Area had all left. Those who dared to stay also fled north quickly under the combined attack of the Griffon Corps and the Assassin Squad. These headhunters were far less experienced than those who had entered the Southern Plateau, and some of them were not even adults.
The headhunters left because they still Gazan Ancestral Land to take refuge in.
However, there is no way to escape the Mithril Mine here.
The castle walls surrounding the Mithril Mine are not very high. The entire castle is built against the mountain, with numerous buildings arranged side by side on the steep slope.
The castle gate was very tall, making the Mine Owners, dressed in magnificent noble attire, appear exceptionally small beneath it. He wore a windrunner's hood, a favorite of the Silver Moon Elf, and a magical longsword inlaid with seven gems hung at his waist.
His skin was as white as milk, and his face looked more delicate than some female elves, exuding a kind of feminine charm.
He was quite different from Klayr. Although Klayr was beautiful, she didn't have that effeminate quality at all.
He also wore some lip gloss and face powder.
Seeing Roy walking in front, followed by Sabrina and Woods, the Mine Owners smiled and flattered Roy, saying:
"You must be Lord Roy. I am Abel, the Mine Owners of the Wochak Mountain Mithril Mine. The Silver Pegasus Legion has been staying at my mine for almost a month. At that time, officers informed me that a new Mine Owners would be taking over the Mithril Mine. I didn't expect you to come at this time..."
Roy ignored his words and walked straight into the castle, followed by a group of half- Roy Half-Elf Warrior.
Stepping through the castle gates, one finds a sloping street that winds its way upwards, paved with stone slabs and featuring both gentle slopes and steps. The plaza inside the castle gates isn't very large, and in the center stands an elf statue that resembles the appearance of this Mine Owner Abel. Many of the stone carvings are inlaid with gold, making the statue look lifelike.
A small group of less than 100 Mine Private Army waited in the square.
Following the main path uphill, you'll reach the most magnificent building inside the castle, but Roy didn't even glance in that direction. Instead, he turned to the Mine Private Army responsible for guarding the city gate and asked, "Where is the Mithril Mine?"
The city gate guard, clad in a full suit of armor as thick as an iron barrel, hesitated for a moment. He instinctively wanted to look at the Mine Owner Abel, but Roy's gaze made him uneasy. He pointed to a path on the west side of the castle and hurriedly replied, "Over there..."
Roy didn't say anything more, and turned to walk towards the Mithril Mine.
Mulin stepped forward from the ranks of the Half-Elf Warrior, quickly took control of the castle gates, and brought the Mine Private Army in the square in front of the castle gates under her control.
A squad of Half-Elf Warrior quickly ran up the city City Wall and took control of several Arrow Tower.
These were not Roy's concerns. He followed the path on the west side for a while and sure enough, he saw a furnace and warehouse in the western part of the castle, as well as a mine filled with Mithril Mine. Molten metal was constantly flowing out of the furnace and slowly flowing into different molds.
The people working here are all Gray Dwarf Gray Dwarf, but their expressions are somewhat wooden. When Roy and his group walked in, they didn't react and continued to work silently by the furnace.
Roy continued walking inside and quickly found the mine shaft by following the mine carts.
Two Half-Elf miners are standing around a minecart.
The Half-Elf miner in front was pulling the minecart with a rope, straining to move forward, while the Half-Elf miner behind him was also pushing the minecart with all his might. The minecart wasn't moving very fast. Roy took a few steps forward and noticed that both Half-Elf miners looked pale and thin.
This place was completely different from the four Iron Mine he had seen before. The previous mines were dilapidated, and the Half-Elf miners inside were in good physical and mental condition. But this mine was built very grandly, but the miners inside were all emaciated from hunger.
Roy's face instantly turned cold, and he strode forward, with Woods and Sabrina following closely behind.
He walked up to the two Half-Elf -Half-Elf miners, startling them. They even looked to the sides in a panic, only relaxing when they saw there was no overseer.
"How many Half-Elf slaves are here?" Roy asked the Half-Elf miner standing in front of the minecart.
"At its peak, there were over a thousand people. Many Half-Elf died of illness, and without replacements, only about five hundred remained. Recently, people have been dying inexplicably, and there are probably less than four hundred Half-Elf left," the Half-Elf miner said cautiously.
"Besides the Half-Elf miners, are there any other miners in this Mithril Mine?" Roy asked, looking around.
Woods had already walked into the mine, followed by a squad of Half-Elf Warrior.
The Half-Elf miner replied, "There are some Gray Dwarf outside, mainly doing ore screening and smelting, about a hundred or so. There are also Dark Moon Elf inside, Dark Moon Elf mainly mine with us. There are even fewer Dark Moon Elf miners, probably less than a hundred."
After saying this, he asked Roy very warily, "Who are you?"
Roy thought for a moment and said, "We belong to the Silver Pegasus Legion's Mine Guard team stationed at the Pagisto Plateau mine. Our first task upon arriving at the Wochak Mountain Mithril Mine is to rescue all the elven miners here."
"Now I can announce to all the elven miners here that you are free. I'm not very familiar with the situation here; could you two pass this message into the mine?"
The two Half-Elf seemed stunned, as if hit by a pie falling from the sky, and asked in a daze:
"You belong to the Silver Pegasus Legion's garrison at the Pagisto Plateau Mine Guard? We're free? Really? We can leave anytime?"
Towards the end, the two became quite excited, looking at Roy with expectant eyes.
Roy then gave the two a positive answer:
"That's right."
When the two Half-Elf miners saw the Half-Elf - Half-Elf Warrior Half-Elf Warrior behind Roy, and even some of them smiling at them, they felt their blood rush to their heads, and their bodies trembled uncontrollably.
One of the Half-Elf miners shouted, "I'll go tell them..."
Another Half-Elf miner jogged along behind the first Half-Elf miner.
"No wonder I didn't see the supervisor today..."
