That Kid Came Again
Old Pike knew that Roy possessed the Holy Light Power, but he was not Priest of the Goddess of Freedom Temple.
Roy's identity is somewhat mysterious, and he always has his own ideas and principles when treating the wounded.
When treating a wound, Roy would first clean the festering sores and dirt around the wound, and he also liked to use a mild saline Holy Light Art to heal the wound, then suture it with silk thread and bandage it to prevent secondary infection.
Old Pike's treatment methods were simple and brutal. He would be very careful in cleaning the wound, and sometimes he would even cut off a little more to avoid potential problems.
Old Pike preferred to clean his wounds with diluted Healing Potion. He rarely stitched them up, instead tightly bandaging them and waiting for them to heal.
Old Pike has spent over a decade in the Dark Land and is very experienced in dealing with the Darkness Qi that has seeped into the bodies of Demon Hunter.
He was an old Priest who had lost the Holy Light Power. His body was so old that he was no longer able to return to the Elf Continent by smuggling himself back, and he could only stay in the Dark Land to eke out a living.
His ability to establish himself in the Wanderer Camp had nothing to do with being an old Priest; his main reason for having a place in the Wanderer Camp was his ability to heal the wounded Demon Hunter.
Demon Hunter face Dark Creatures almost every day, and even the most senior Demon Hunter cannot guarantee that they will not get injured when they go out to hunt Dark Creatures.
Old Pike's residence in the Wanderer Camp was a guarantee of survival for these Demon Hunter, so the Demon Hunter in the Wanderer Camp rarely offended Old Pike.
Old Parker stared at Roy in horror. He never imagined that Roy would be able to make more than a dozen veteran witchers disappear into thin air, with none of them able to return to the wanderer camp alive.
And now Roy has actually returned to the Wanderer Camp...
Old Pike's biggest worry was that Roy would take his anger out on the entire camp because of what happened last time. Since he had such a large force, he was a huge threat to the Wanderer Camp.
That's why Old Pike asked Roy, "So what brings you to the Wanderer Camp this time?"
Roy drank the holy water in the cup in one gulp, placed the empty cup on the shelf next to him, then lifted the hem of his linen shirt to reveal the bulging money bag at his waist, and patted it hard, the soul crystals inside rattling like pebbles.
"I brought enough Soul Crystals this time, intending to purchase some Dark Magical Beasts materials at the camp. Last time I bought some bone blades for Dark Scythe, and this time I plan to buy some other things. Basically, I'll buy whatever is valuable..."
Roy laughed and dodged Old Pike.
"I need to buy some more. You're not here to fish for these idiots at the camp again, are you?"
Old Pike stared wide-eyed at the money pouch at Roy's waist, muttering something to Roy.
In Old Pike's hometown, the silly fish is a kind of silly and easy-to-catch sea fish.
"If anyone still wants to walk into the line of fire, I certainly won't hold back," Roy whispered in response.
Hearing Roy say that, Old Pike breathed a sigh of relief and muttered, "They may be a bit greedy, but they're not that stupid. This time they'll probably tuck their tails between their legs."
Roy pulled two large wooden buckets of holy water from his Magic Pouch and piled them in front of the cluttered shelves.
Old Pike took a deep breath and exclaimed in surprise, "So many..."
"It's a pity it can't be stored for too long, otherwise I would have tried to bring you more. You have quite a few health problems, so try to drink more water and take good care of yourself. Anyway, it would be a waste if you couldn't drink it," Roy said with a smile.
"You brought so much this time, it's enough for me to take a good shower!"
Old Pike leaned closer and saw that there was a Magic Scroll sealing one end of the barrel. As long as the Magic Power on this scroll was not exhausted, the Holy Light Power in the holy water would not evaporate...
"You actually have such a good thing in your possession!"
Old Pike stared at the priceless Magic Scroll and said.
Roy chuckled, patted the money pouch at his waist again, and said smugly, "As long as I have money in my pouch, I can buy a lot of things!"
"Including the Tree of Life Sap?"
Old Pike asked jokingly.
"Certainly!"
Roy answered without hesitation.
Old Pike turned around and took a tattered drawer from the messy shelf. He dusted off the drawer, pulled open the top cover, and found it was full of Soul Crystals. He handed the drawer to Roy Roy said, "Use the value of these Soul Crystals to buy Tree of Life Sap. Buy as much as you can!" Old Pike pursed his dry, chapped lips.
Roy scratched his chin, muttering to himself, and after a short while spoke:
"In the Black Market of Castleton City, the price of Tree of Life Sap is one Magic Crystal Stone for a cup of diluted sap, in the standard fruit wine cup commonly used in local taverns. Soul crystals are clearly less valuable than magic crystals. I estimate that ten soul crystals can be exchanged for one magic crystal. In that case, let me count how many soul crystals you have in this box..."
Old Pike interrupted Roy: "Wait, are you saying you want to make this deal with me at the price of Castleton City?"
Roy raised an eyebrow, giving him a matter-of-fact look:
"There's no price reference in the Dark Land, so of course I'll give you a friendly price. But don't treat me like the Tree of Life. I don't produce this; every drop is bought from the Black Market. So don't expect me to give you a discount on this deal!"
As he spoke, he actually started counting the soul crystals in the drawer one by one. The square wooden drawer was actually filled with a full five hundred soul crystals, which was equivalent to the fifty cups of diluted Tree of Life Sap that Roy needed to give to Old Pike.
"Exactly fifty cups, no more, no less."
After Roy finished speaking, he pulled an oak barrel from his Magic Pouch. Under Old Pike's somewhat dazed gaze, he used a dagger to pry open the cork on the barrel. Then, he used a measuring cup with a thin stick attached to it to reach into the barrel and scooped out a full cup of Tree of Life Sap, which was flowing with pure life essence.
This was diluted Tree of Life Sap, and it was the kind of Tree of Life Sap that hadn't been diluted at all. There was a semi-circular ink stamp of "Castleton Trading Company" on the edge of the oak barrel. Old Pike rubbed his eyes hard and watched as Roy scooped fifty cups of Tree of Life Sap from the oak barrel. All of this Tree of Life Sap was poured into a wooden basin, which was actually half full.
"Alright, this box of Soul Crystals, along with our friendship, can only get you this much Tree of Life Sap at most. You'd better use it sparingly, since I don't have much myself. The Tree of Life Sap produced by each Tree of Life on the Elf Continent is very limited, and the Tree of Life Sap that reaches the Black Market is even more pitiful..."
As Roy spoke, he hammered the cork into the round opening of the oak barrel.
Old Pike looked at the half-basin of Tree of Life Sap in front of him with some excitement, his lips trembling slightly. He smeared some Tree of Life Sap on his lips with his finger on the rim of the basin, and his parched lips became noticeably moist.
Old Pike quickly grabbed a few potion bottles from the shelf, poured half a basin of Tree of Life Sap into them, put them close to his body in his satchel, and then peeked around to make sure no Demon Hunter were paying attention. Only then did he breathe a sigh of relief.
"Roy, do you know that the Tree of Life Sap in this barrel alone is enough for all the Demon Hunter in the Wanderer Camp to kill you ten times over in the wilderness?"
Old Pike lowered his voice and warned Roy.
"Then you'll have to be just like me, constantly on guard and worried, making sure no one sees the Tree of Life Sap hidden on your body..." Roy replied with a smile.
"I'm not joking with you!" Old Pike said seriously. "Roy, what is your true identity? I don't think you're an ordinary Half-Elf!"
"They all like to call me Boss Roy. Just think of me as a businessman who travels between the Elf Continent and the Dark Land."
Roy wiped his hands and was the first to walk out of the rest area where only the two of them were.
He stopped in front of Old Pike's tent, turned to Old Pike and said, "Let's treat these gentlemen's wounds first!"
'That young Half-Elf boy is at the camp again.'
After daybreak, the Wanderer Camp was in complete chaos, with the whole camp talking about it.
A while ago, while Roy was away, a dozen or so Demon Hunter Demon Hunter from the Wanderer Camp followed him, intending to rob this wealthy young Half-Elf who was carrying more than a hundred Dark Scythe Bone Blade and a large amount of soul crystals in the wilderness of the Dark Land.
But in recent days, none of the Demon Hunter who participated in the robbery have returned to the Wanderer Camp, which makes this very unusual!
Roy's reappearance in the camp's market is enough to prove that this young Half-Elf is the ultimate victor.
In particular, he was once again carrying a bulging money bag at his waist, and this time, Roy was no longer only buying bone blades for the Dark Scythe at the market in the Wanderer Camp. He was holding a parchment list in his hand, and every time he stopped in front of a stall, he would open the list and carefully check it. He was practically buying Dark Magical Beasts materials according to the list.
At the camp market, Roy first asked the vendors to report the prices of their goods, with five or six different prices listed for each item.
Finally, Roy used his Quill Pen to draw horizontal lines on the parchment, then wrote a new price behind each line, which was exactly half of the average price calculated from all the quotes...
Roy relayed the prices to the stall owners in the market one by one, and those who were willing to sell their monster materials received the Soul Crystals on the spot, completing the transaction.
The stall owner, unwilling to sell the monster materials at such a low price, could only sit back down at his stall, and Roy didn't try to persuade him any further.
Roy purchased a wide variety of goods this time, and all the goods were piled up together like a small mountain.
There wasn't enough room to fit all the supplies into his Magic Pouch, so after completing the purchase, Roy sat quietly beside the pile of goods and waited.
He ignored the Demon Hunter who were staring at him with surprise, and Demon Hunter Demon Hunter in front of Roy, Roy wouldn't even glance at them.
"Are you a merchant from the Dark Land?" some Demon Hunter asked Roy curiously.
Roy glanced at the goods beside him and replied, "I guess you could call it that!"
"When you last visited our camp, did anything happen after you left?" a Demon Hunter asked Roy, mustering his courage.
Roy ignored him and shook his head with a smile.
Seeing that Roy seemed easy to get along with, the Demon Hunter gathered around, curiously inquiring about the prices of the monster materials piled up on the shelves.
Roy didn't say anything more.
The Demon Hunter didn't dare do anything to Roy. Seeing Roy indifferent expression and lack of response, they could only mutter amongst themselves and leave dejectedly.
Not long after, two flatbed trucks appeared outside the Wanderer Camp.
The people pushing the cart were elves dressed in Light Leather Armor armor, with daggers strapped to their thighs. They were taciturn, with a veil covering their noses, and their eyes were like cold needles, sending a chill down anyone's spine.
When they arrived at the Wanderer Camp, instead of throwing a soul crystal into the campfire as per custom, they pushed the flatbed cart directly in front of Roy.
Without Roy even needing to signal them, the elves busily loaded the monster materials Roy had bought onto the flatbed cart.
After all the goods were loaded, the elves pushed two flatbed carts away from the Wanderer Camp without saying a word the whole time.
Roy followed behind the flatbed cart, leaving the Wanderer Camp with the elves...
"Where did those elves come from? I've been to several camps nearby, and I haven't seen these guys in any of them..."
A Demon Hunter watched as the two flatbed carts left the camp before popping out to complain.
Another Demon Hunter wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and exclaimed, "Good heavens, their eyes are like they're hiding knives when they look at others. I don't even dare to look them in the eye!"
"Their eyes were so cold..."
"So... now you know! That young Half-Elf isn't alone. I reckon those guys who chased after him to rob him last time probably aren't coming back..."
Upon hearing this, the group of Demon Hunter instantly fell silent.
What should we do next?
"One of the Demon Hunter couldn't help but say."
"His coming to our camp to buy so many monster materials is probably just to tell us that he only wants to do business here, and we'd better not mess with him..."
"..."
"Since everyone knows that kid is not to be trifled with, we just need to be more careful in the future."
An experienced Demon Hunter seized the opportunity to speak.
"I heard Evele and the others have some connection with that kid. When they get back, we'll ask Evele and the others about it..."
