After Flitwick brought up the matter of modifying spells, the atmosphere in the Staff Dining Hall turned cold.

"Oh! Don't be angry, Severus. You're the senior here."

Noticing Snape's expression darken, Professor Flitwick immediately offered an explanation.

"I'm not—"

Snape had wanted to say that he would never be the senior of those idiotic Gryffindor lions, but remembering his position, he swallowed the words.

"It's fine, Severus. I just think your record is likely to be broken."

"Broken? By Mu En Scarlett?"

Snape took a bite of Pumpkin Porridge, his tone full of disdain.

"Severus, don't be so hung up on it. Records are there to be broken. It's only a matter of sooner or later."

Snape truly could not argue too much with a professor who had once taught him.

But at that moment, his attention toward Mu En rose another level.

"There's no need to compare them in spell creation anymore, Filius. Mr. Scarlett should focus on researching magical plants."

Knowing that Snape disliked Gryffindor students, Sprout spoke up in time to stop Flitwick's discussion.

"More than thirty herbs in my Herbology Club are being cared for by Mr. Scarlett. He can even take excellent care of the Moonlight Grass Newt left behind!"

Sprout smiled with satisfaction as she spoke.

"Isn't that Moonlight Grass very rare?"

Flitwick still remembered Sprout returning from the Herbology Club gathering this spring.

At the time, she had excitedly told him that it was the second Moonlight Grass discovered in the British wizarding world in thirty years.

"That's right, but Mr. Scarlett has already cared for it for two weeks without a single mistake."

As Flitwick and Sprout continued discussing the Little Lion, Snape's expression grew worse and worse.
