Excited, Kiana, along with a bewildered Cecilia and the ever-unnoticeable Ziegfried, arrived at the top-floor office conference room, where Yaqing was seated on the guest sofa.
"Sis, and little Kiana, come give Uncle a hug." Yaqing said with a smile, opening his arms.
Kiana pushed Yaqing's handsome face away in disdain. "Uncle, I'm not little anymore."
Yaqing clutched his chest. "Ah, such heartache."
Kiana gave him a forceful shove, clearly annoyed.
Yaqing stumbled back a few steps, falling onto the sofa, and smiled helplessly.
"Alright, little brother, stop teasing little Kiana." Cecilia said, laughing and crying as she looked at the two children. She sat down next to Yaqing, leaning on his shoulder with a smile.
"Mom~" Kiana stomped her foot and sat down on the sofa, hugging Cecilia's slender waist.
Ziegfried sat down on the other sofa without a word.
"Sis, I'm planning to use you as the model for the main character." Yaqing naturally put his arm around his sister's shoulders.
"Eh? Me? Is that okay?" Cecilia's expression was blank, showing that Bianka clearly inherited that trait.
Yaqing nodded to Rita.
As his secretary, Rita understood. She picked up the proposal from the desk, placed it on the coffee table, squatted down, flipped to the script page, and then considerately left the conference room.
"Let me see, let me see." Kiana picked up the proposal.
Cecilia leaned over her daughter's shoulder.
"The focus of the Second Collapse storyline is on the love between Ziegfried and Cecilia, and their familial affection for Sirin." Yaqing said. "Ziegfried, you should take a look too; there's a role for you as well."
Yaqing stood up, leaving his seat for Ziegfried.
"Me? Okay." Ziegfried sat down on the other side of Kiana.
The script was long, especially since Yaqing had made some changes to lengthen it, but Cecilia was immediately engrossed. Ziegfried, in particular, nearly jumped off the sofa with excitement when he saw the line, "To protect the one I love most, I am willing to sacrifice my life!"
The proposal didn't include voice acting or visuals. A script isn't like a novel, making it difficult to immerse oneself, but the lines still moved Kiana and the others to tears.
"Mom, was Sirin really that miserable?" Kiana choked out.
Cecilia's beautiful eyes were filled with tears as she hugged Kiana tightly.
Ziegfried clenched his fist when he saw Cecilia's sacrifice.
Yaqing hadn't written the last episode of the proposal because he was afraid Ziegfried would rush to headquarters in a fit of anger. However, once the movie was released, it wouldn't be his problem anymore.
Ziegfried gave Yaqing an enthusiastic bear hug, exclaiming excitedly, "Yaqing, I was wrong about you! I never thought you were the one who understood me the most in this world!"
"Let go." Yaqing said with distaste, patting the non-existent dust off his suit.
"Uncle, Mom didn't... how could the female lead die so easily..." It was said that women were emotional creatures, and that included the simpletons among them. Kiana was staring at Yaqing with teary eyes.
"Uh..."
Yaqing felt uncomfortable under their gaze and remained silent.
Cecilia understood him. The character was well-developed, and the ending used a lot of foreshadowing. If Yaqing had let Cecilia live, it would have been a blunder.
Cecilia comforted Kiana.
Ziegfried nudged Yaqing with his elbow and whispered, "I saw that there's a role for Anti-Entropy in there. Are you planning to have Welt do the voice acting? Don't you know about his relationship with Otto?"
Yaqing glared with dead fish eyes ←_← and said, "Isn't that why I had you come over? Did you really think it was just for voice acting?"
Ziegfried looked troubled. "I can't say for sure unless you let Welt see his role. Otherwise, he'll definitely suspect that Destiny is trying to smear him in the anime."
"If he wants to see it, he can see it. This is just a prequel anyway."
"Prequel?" Ziegfried's eyes widened. He snatched the proposal from Kiana's hands, ignoring her pouting cheeks, and flipped through it quickly.
"Uh..."
Ziegfried looked at Yaqing. He guessed that the protagonist of the next installment would be either Kiana or Theresa, and most likely Theresa.
"The protagonist is Theresa?"
Ziegfried asked in disbelief.
Yaqing neither confirmed nor denied it, only smiled.
Seeing this, the Ziegfried couple assumed he had agreed.
"Ah! It's Auntie..." Kiana immediately lost hope for the future plot.
"Don't let your imagination run wild. If you could so easily guess what happens next, how would I earn their tears... money?" Yaqing said mysteriously.
Just then, the sexy secretary Rita opened the door, served tea to everyone, and stood smiling next to Yaqing, making Ziegfried's lips twitch. He had never seen the president arrange such a beautiful secretary for him when he was sent abroad!
"Oh, right, Sis, don't just sit there. Help me ask Theresa."
"Okay~"
Yaqing picked up the phone again.
He dialed a number for a certain Salary Thief who was at work.
Chapter 8: Kevin and Theresa's Voice Acting Journey
"Ah, the wilderness... late at night... and a mysterious disappearance... Could it be haunted?"
Inside the recording studio, the microphone had been lowered specifically for Theresa. Listening to Theresa's emotionless voice, Yaqing and Shab both frowned simultaneously.
Yaqing used the microphone to speak to Theresa inside the soundproof recording booth, "Theresa, can you put some emotion into it? You need to express three parts fear, three parts terror, and four parts hesitation."
"Huh?" Theresa widened her eyes and glared fiercely at Yaqing, saying resentfully, "My voice isn't a pie chart! Besides, I, Theresa, am an S-Rank Valkyrie of Destiny, how could I be afraid of ghosts?!"
"Theresa, dare you say you're not afraid of ghosts?"
Yaqing smiled playfully, posing a soul-searching question.
"Uh..." Theresa scratched her pretty face awkwardly, stubbornly saying, "I am me, but the Theresa in the script is an S-Rank Valkyrie of Destiny!"
Yaqing smiled and said in Otto's tone, "My dear little Theresa, whether you are an S-Rank Valkyrie or not, in the Chairman's heart, you will always be a child who never grows up, and how could a child not be afraid of ghosts?"
"Shut up!" Theresa's small face flushed red, and she said coquettishly, "Don't speak in Grandpa's tone!"
Yaqing shook his head and said to Shab beside him, "Shab, you take care of our little Theresa first, I'll go find the voice actor for that 'Kaslana Forefather'."
Shab nodded, looking at the little Theresa in the recording booth with a smile that wasn't quite a smile.
Theresa shivered, a bad premonition welling up in her heart.
"Um..."
As a Salary Thief of Destiny's Far East Branch, Chairman Yaqing took a day off for himself before 2 PM, and drove to the World Serpent Technology Company ten kilometers away.
World Serpent Technology Company, though called a company, was more like a research institution, covering a wide range of fields, from chip networks to machine materials, and was especially famous for its three doctors who were renowned throughout the world.
After Yaqing parked the car, he took out his phone and dialed the number of a certain wage slave who was coding on the internet.
"Hey, Kevin, I'm downstairs at World Serpent."
On the ninth floor of World Serpent Company, the wage slave Kevin, who was coding, saw his phone vibrating, looked at his busy colleagues around him, and stood up.
At the workstation opposite Kevin, an OL-dressed mature woman with short gray-blue hair, her dark red beautiful eyes watched Kevin's departing back with suspicion, her cowlick swaying slightly, as if wondering if reporting Kevin's absence from work to a certain snake executive would result in a raise and bonus.
After Kevin got off the elevator, he saw Yaqing, who was bored on the sofa in the front hall, and said helplessly, "Yaqing, what are you doing looking for me during work hours?"
Yaqing put down the tea that the front desk girl had served, and said with a smile that wasn't quite a smile, "Kevin, do you still want to be a hero?"
One sentence brought Kevin back to his high school days.
At that time, Kevin was still a sunny and passionate high school heartthrob. Because of someone's words, he excitedly told Su and Yaqing that he wanted to be a hero.
Kevin's face flushed red when his embarrassing past was brought up, and he said unhappily, "Did you come here in broad daylight just to make fun of me?"
Yaqing put his arm around Kevin's neck, glanced at the surveillance camera in the corner that was staring at them, smiled subtly, and whispered in Kevin's ear, "I can't fulfill your desire to be a hero, but I can create a you in an anime to be that hero."
Kevin tilted his head in confusion, and when he realized what was happening, his face was full of excitement, "Really?"
"Shh!" Yaqing made a shushing sound.
Kevin instantly understood, but couldn't hide the excitement on his face.
On the twelfth floor of World Serpent Company, a certain snake executive looked at the two people "whispering" on the surveillance screen with a puzzled expression, looked at Kevin who was puzzled and excited, and snorted in disdain.
He took the elevator upstairs with Kevin.
Mei's office was empty, so Kevin and Yaqing could only go to Mobius.
"Knock knock."
Hearing the knock, Mobius silently closed her computer.
"Come in."
Yaqing pushed the door open, and Kevin followed behind him.
Mobius looked up, her pretty face looking at the two people who came in together with disgust.
"I didn't expect you to come with your little follower, what, is your animation company going out of business? Are you here to beg for food from World Serpent?" Mobius curled her lips, still as venomous as ever.
"Senior Mobius, your mouth is still so hard." Yaqing sat down on the sofa in Mobius's office without any politeness.
The wage slave Kevin felt very uncomfortable. First of all, he wasn't really familiar with his senior, and secondly, as a wage slave, he felt really uncomfortable being in his boss's office during work hours.
But Yaqing didn't. To be precise, he was the largest investor in World Serpent Technology Company. Mobius and Vill-V had just graduated from college and wanted to start a company, so Yaqing invested a large sum of money.
That day, Kevin learned that his roommate of three years was actually a hidden rich man, with enough funds to buy half of the Far East.
"Heh." Mobius curled her lips, "So you're here to find this little follower today? What does your animation company need him to do? Code?"
"Of course not." Yaqing smiled, "Kevin still has a lot of abilities."
"Heh, what abilities does he have?" Mobius said disdainfully.
Kevin looked embarrassed.
"Senior Mobius, please tell Mei for me, I'm borrowing her boy today."
It seemed that not only Kevin was uncomfortable, but Yaqing was also uncomfortable.
Mobius propped her head up, watching Yaqing leave almost fleeing, covering her face with her morbid hands.
Yaqing held the steering wheel with one hand, took out his phone with the other, opened a familiar folder, and threw it to Kevin, who was about to fall asleep in the passenger seat.
"Take a look at the script. You don't have many scenes, so familiarize yourself with it first, and try to finish all your voice acting today."
Kevin groggily took the phone.
There was no video on the phone screen, only text.
Yaqing drove while thinking about the remaining voice acting.
Amber's voice acting could be done by Amber herself.
But who should voice the three pseudo-Herrschers created by Sirin?
Yaqing thought for a moment and decided to ask a few female students from Theresa's St. Freya Academy.
As for the remaining unimportant voice acting, he would leave it to Shub.
"Hey, Yaqing, someone named Ziegfried sent you a message," Kevin said, shaking the phone.
"What did he say?"
Yaqing only glanced at it before concentrating on driving.
Kevin read, "He said he arranged to meet Welt at the coffee shop in St. Freya Academy's commercial district tomorrow at three in the afternoon."
"Reply to him for me, okay."
