Hagrid escorted Harry, Ron, Hermione, Malfoy, and Tierra—the five young wizards—out of the Forbidden Forest. Then he hurried off with the centaurs Firenze and Ronan—the golden-haired centaur who had shot an arrow at The Inheritor—to inspect the place where the unicorn had met with disaster.

But the true culprit had already followed Tierra back into the castle.

After a tense and thrilling night in the Forbidden Forest, even Malfoy had lost the urge to throw out sarcastic remarks. He trudged along listlessly, like a cucumber wilted by frost.

After returning to the Gryffindor Common Room, the four young wizards—Tierra had originally intended to go straight to bathe and sleep, but Harry and Hermione dragged him over to the sofa in front of the fireplace.

Tierra was helplessly squeezed between Harry and Hermione.

Tom Riddle's diary was tucked against his chest, while the drastically changed The Inheritor, which had only just returned to his hands, was beneath his backside as a cushion.

They were two books he simply dared not let out of his sight.

If either one were discovered by someone else, it would bring him endless trouble.

"Snape wants to get the Philosopher's Stone for Voldemort! Snape doesn't want to use it himself! He wants it for Voldemort! Voldemort is waiting in the forest! We thought Snape only wanted to get rich with the Philosopher's Stone..." Harry said excitedly the moment he sat down.

"Don't! Don't say that name again!" Ron whispered in panic, as though afraid Voldemort might hear him.

But Harry paid him no attention. "Firenze saved me. Firenze told me! He said the stars showed that Voldemort was about to return! Tierra heard it too!"

Tierra nodded helplessly.

"Could you stop saying that name?" Ron said in a lowered voice.
