"It can't be used to become a god?" Hermione asked. "You don't want Nicolas Flamel to become a god?"
"Of course I want him to become a god!" Tierra denied Hermione's guess. "He has lived for over six hundred years. He is a living history book, as well as the father of Western chemistry and the king of alchemy!"
"Even with the mighty power of a Divine Being, I cannot erase the gap in knowledge between him and me!"
"Then, Tierra, you..." Hermione seemed even more confused.
"Because the keyhole that would make him a god is not this one." Tierra smiled faintly, gesturing for Hermione to wait. Then he took a somewhat worn magical book from the second drawer of his desk and handed it to her.
"This book contains research material I collected on the Philosopher's Stone, including some records concerning the Elixir of Life. If you have no ideas for your research, you can read these notes first. Perhaps they'll give you some inspiration," Tierra said gently.
Hermione took the book and began leafing through it page by page. It contained detailed descriptions of the Philosopher's Stone, along with some experimental records and theoretical analyses—
But it was extremely disorganized. Most of the entries did not even connect, as though they were theoretical and experimental records from countless different eras and authors.
Even so, she became engrossed in it, unable to pull herself away.
Snap— Tierra snapped his fingers.
"You can read the notebook after you go back," Tierra said.
"Oh, r-right, thank you." Hermione came back to herself in an instant.
"You may also use the experimental equipment in this classroom whenever you wish," Tierra continued.
"Thank you! Thank you, Tierra!" Hermione replied excitedly.
Hugging the worn magical book to her chest, Hermione left the Dark
