Background

Sun Sheng was a modern-era Douluo fan who transmigrated to Douluo Continent. Dissatisfied with Tang San and Grandmaster’s prominence in the story he knew, he resolved to defeat Tang San, win over the women he admired, and become the continent’s strongest figure. His initial Martial Soul was an ordinary black iron rod, and he was repeatedly humiliated by Liu Long before his rise to power. 1

After completing ninety-nine system challenges over six years, Sun Sheng fully upgraded the Douluo Leveling System. The reward transformed his Martial Soul into the Ruyi Jingu Bang, gave him a million-year soul ring, and allowed him to exchange for the second Martial Soul, Great Sage Equal to Heaven, Sun Wukong. 1

He left Notting City Junior Academy after crippling Boss Xiao, defeating Tang San, repelling the academy’s Enforcement Squad, and using Martial Soul Possession to escape three pursuing Soul Elder mentors. He then returned to his birthplace, Anlan Village, to cultivate the Grand Celestial Art before entering the Star Dou Great Forest for his second soul ring. 6 7 8

In the forest, Sun Sheng killed the Goliath Ant King, absorbed its soul ring, fused its right-arm soul bone, saved Wang Wu from a Ten-Thousand-Year Ghost Tiger, and recruited him as a subordinate. 13 14 16

At Martial Soul Hall, Sun Sheng’s thousand-year second ring and Twin Martial Souls attracted the attention of the Titled Douluo. He specifically chose Bibi Dong as his teacher; she accepted him as her disciple and placed him in the Golden Generation. 20 21 22

Sun Sheng’s ordinary appearance is not described in detail. His most distinctive form is his Sun Wukong Martial Soul Possession. 7
