Six years later.
"Little San is twelve this year. It's probably time for him to go to Shrek Academy." A beautiful girl sat in a tree, gazing into the distance. Her beauty was like lotus leaves swaying in the breeze, banana leaves moistened by rain. She possessed breathtaking looks, a slender waist, toned thighs, fair skin, and a figure with perfect golden proportions. Every one of these traits was enough to make all other girls jealous. With any casual movement, scores of infatuated admirers would fall for her.
But who would have known that such a beautiful girl was actually the "youngest Titled Douluo," with the title Orchid? She was the founder of "Orchid Hall." Now, a force known as Orchid Hall had risen to prominence in just six short years. The Titled Douluo and god-level experts within it outnumbered even the combined forces of the two great empires and Spirit Hall. No one knew who its Pope was, nor did anyone know her strength. They only knew that there was a lavender mark in the center of her forehead.
Lan Xue's God of Abilities Trial had reached the eighth test, but what drove her to despair was that the eighth test contained only one English word: kiss.
"No way, Dad. You're messing with me? You want me to get a boyfriend this early?"
Shrek Academy.
Tang San arrived at Shrek Academy, only to discover that it was actually a rundown village. He was deeply shocked.
More than a hundred prospective students stood ahead of Tang San.
A youth stood in front of him. He heard the youth's mother say, "Is this some kind of joke? This is the so-called Soul Master Academy? The academy that claims its graduates can become imperial viscounts?"
The youth's father said uncertainly, "The people from Spirit Hall said so, so it shouldn't be wrong. But this academy really is a little too shabby."
The youth said, "Dad, I don't want to study here. It's too embarrassing. I'd rather go to Soto Intermediate Soul Master Academy. At the very least, I was considered a genius back at the junior academy."
The youth's father frowned and said, "Since we're already here, let's wait a little longer. Maybe this is some sort of test. The real academy might not be here."
There were certainly many similar conversations among the people waiting in line. The faces of most of the youths and their parents were filled with deep disappointment.
Tang San did not linger on the applicants for long. Instead, he looked toward the front of the line, where registration was taking place. With his eyesight and hearing enhanced by the Mysterious Heaven Skill, he could vaguely hear the conversation there.
The old man seated behind the table and in charge of registrations looked utterly lazy. Calling his clothes simple would have been putting it nicely. No matter how one looked at him, he resembled an old villager, and he did not even appear as spirited as Old Jack from Holy Soul Village.
At that moment, a youth stepped up to the table to register. The old man said lazily, "The registration fee is ten Gold Soul Coins. Put them in that box."
The youth's accompanying father hurriedly took out ten Gold Soul Coins and placed them into the box made from several nailed-together wooden boards beside them.
"Hold out a hand."
The youth did as instructed and extended his hand before the old man. The old man pinched it twice, then shook his head. "You don't meet the age requirement. You can leave."
The youth froze for a moment and turned to look at his father. There were not many teenagers as mature as Tang San.
His father quickly forced a smile. "Teacher, my son only just turned thirteen. Could you perhaps make an exception?"
The old man said somewhat impatiently, "Don't hold up the people behind you. Don't you know the academy's rules? We only accept children under thirteen. Anyone over thirteen will not be admitted. You may leave."
The youth's father said, "Then what about our registration fee?"
The old man replied without the slightest courtesy, "Once registration is completed, fees will not be refunded."
Even a clay Buddha had some temper left in it. Unable to hold back any longer, the youth's father snapped, "You're clearly swindling people out of their money. Return our registration fee, or we won't leave. If we'd known this so-called Shrek Academy was this rundown, we never would have come."
The old man glanced at him and said calmly, "Mubai, someone wants his registration fee back. Handle it."
A figure suddenly shot up from the ground nearby. "You want your registration fee back? Fine. Beat me, and you'll get every coin back."
This person was none other than Dai Mubai. Since he had been sitting off to the side and was blocked by the crowd, Tang San had not seen him earlier. Compared to the last time Tang San had met him, there was now a hint of helplessness on his face.
Dai Mubai wasted no words. He directly activated his Soul Power and released all three of his Soul Rings—two hundred-year rings and one thousand-year ring. His surging Soul Power generated an invisible pressure in the air. A cold gleam flashed repeatedly in his evil eyes as he looked at the father and son.
