Background / History

Lan Xue was originally a junior-high student on Earth. After being electrocuted while repairing her computer, she awakened before the God of Abilities, who became her father in her new existence. She negotiated extensively for powerful Martial Souls, abilities, treasures, and an ideal appearance before being sent to Douluo Continent to cultivate. 1

Her return to Douluo was mistimed by a thousand years. Before becoming the girl known to Tang San, she spent a millennium cultivating among the Fox Spirit Clan as a Nine-Tailed Fox; that period of memory was later erased. 130 Tang San first encounters her on a hilltop near Holy Soul Village, recognizing her as the girl from his dreams and carrying her safely down the mountain. 2

Although already Orchid Hall’s Pope and a Peerless Douluo, Lan Xue secretly enrolls at Shrek Academy to remain beside Tang San. She asks Zhao Wuji and Flender not to expose her identity, presenting herself simply as “Lan Xue” or “Little Xue.” 31 41 107 During this period, she becomes one of the Shrek Seven Devils under the title Ice Jade Orchid Emperor. 74

She later undergoes the Heavenly Lightning Tribulation, gaining Nine-Tailed Heavenly Fox characteristics. 123 124 At the Ice Fire Yin Yang Well, absorbing a Soul Ring unlocks memories of her many lives and triggers her vampire transformation. Despite her arrogance and sharp tongue, she is protective of those she cares about.
