A month later!
Yuan Luo and Tang San set off for Notting Junior Academy. Since Yuan Luo knew the way well, it was just the two of them. Old Jack had gone to meet Widow Wang in secret.
At that moment, Yuan Luo and Tang San were sitting in a carriage.
Yuan Luo took out two Silver Soul Coins from his Soul Tool and handed them to Tang San.
"Xiao San, here. Take these for now."
"Huh? Luo-ge, no need. Keep them for yourself. I brought dried rations."
Tang San hurriedly declined. He did not have a single Soul Coin on him, only enough dried rations in his bag for two days.
"Take them. You call me Luo-ge—how could I let you go hungry?"
Yuan Luo stuffed the Silver Soul Coins into Tang San's hand and stared at him as he spoke.
"There's a blacksmith shop in the city. If you have spare time, you can work there too. The pay is pretty decent."
Tang San nodded solemnly, warmth rising in his heart.
"Luo-ge, I'll count this as a loan. I'll pay you back later. Once I have money, I'll treat you to a feast every day. You've treated me to meat these past few years; from now on, I'll treat you."
"Alright!"
Yuan Luo nodded, thinking, This kid really has principles.
That month of selling grilled meat had truly made Yuan Luo rich.
On slow days, he could still earn five or six Gold Soul Coins. On good days, earning thirty or forty was no problem.
This Soul Tool was only one square meter in size. He had bought it from an old man for forty-eight Gold Soul Coins.
He had left Old Jack quite a bit, and he still had around three hundred Gold Soul Coins on hand.
Though it was a little small, it was enough to store coins and miscellaneous items.
Yu Yue had also successfully inherited Yuan Luo's craft and could now hold her own.
Her food was not quite as fragrant as Yuan Luo's grilled meat, but it was close enough.
For her safety, Yuan Luo had hired a Soul Master to protect her.
Before long, the two arrived at their destination.
Tang San was still dressed in shabby clothes, though they were clean and neat.
Now that he had money, Yuan Luo had changed into a slightly better outfit. He had bought one for Tang San as well, but Tang San refused it, so Yuan Luo let it go.
Yuan Luo and Tang San had just reached the entrance when two people stopped them.
"What are you here for?!"
One of the guards looked Tang San over. Seeing his rustic clothes and country bumpkin appearance, he asked disdainfully.
Tang San had been about to explain when Yuan Luo spoke impatiently.
"What? You don't recognize me?"
The guard froze, looked at Yuan Luo's bright clothing, then took a closer look.
"You... you're that little brother?"
The guard seemed to recognize him and fearfully took a step back.
"You won't let me attend school? Want another beating?"
Yuan Luo glanced at him sideways and grinned, frightening the two men into backing away several more steps.
When Yuan Luo had been selling grilled meat, these two had come by once. Because they had no money, they had tried to snatch some grilled meat.
Yuan Luo had beaten them up so badly that they could not get out of bed for several days.
The two bowed and scraped. "Little brother, you must be joking. Please, come in, come in!"
Tang San looked at Yuan Luo in confusion, having no idea what had happened.
Suddenly, a hoarse yet imposing voice rang out.
"What's going on?"
The guards froze, then quickly fawned over the man. "Grandmaster, what brings you here?"
So this was Grandmaster?
Yuan Luo observed him. His face was covered in stubble, his hair looked carelessly cut, and he seemed rather dejected.
It seemed the Protagonist's Halo still affected the plot. Even without a conflict with the guards, Grandmaster had still come.
"Children, may I see your Spirit Hall certificates?"
After Grandmaster examined the certificates, a gleam flashed in his eyes. He looked Tang San up and down several times, then glanced at Yuan Luo.
"The certificates are valid. I'll take you inside."
The two followed Grandmaster into a room. Just as in the plot, Grandmaster pointed out Tang San's Twin Martial Souls, and Tang San formally took him as his teacher.
"Luo-ge, you should take the teacher as your master too. Teacher is really amazing."
Tang San turned to look at Yuan Luo, who was leaning against the wall.
Yuan Luo shook his head. "Xiao San, do you want to be my senior brother? I'll pass. Grandmaster isn't suited for me."
"Luo-ge..."
"Xiao San, Yuan Luo has his own ideas. If you need anything in the future, just come to me. I'll help if I can."
Grandmaster held Tang San back. The latter half of his words was clearly directed at Yuan Luo.
Yuan Luo nodded and thanked Grandmaster.
"Come on, I'll take you to register."
Since Yuan Luo was not a day student, he did not get in for free and paid five Silver Soul Coins.
"Xiao San, I'll head back to the dormitory first."
After saying goodbye to Tang San, Yuan Luo set off in search of his dormitory.
"Second Dormitory should be here!"
Seeing the number two in front of the door, Yuan Luo pushed it open and entered.
There were already five people inside. It was a six-person room, and Yuan Luo was the last one.
The leader looked five or six years older than Yuan Luo. His stylish hairstyle made him look like a little thug.
"Kid, who are you?"
"I'm in this dormitory too."
He took out a quilt from his Soul Tool and went to the empty bed on the far left.
Tang San had Grandmaster, so Yuan Luo did not need to buy him bedding.
"A Storage Soul Tool?"
The leader was stunned for a moment, then stared greedily at Yuan Luo.
However, he did not dare make a move. Even he did not have a Soul Tool, while Yuan Luo did. That might mean Yuan Luo's family was even more powerful than his own.
Yuan Luo frowned. "Don't look at me with those filthy eyes, or don't blame me for getting rough."
The leader sneered and spoke to the brown-haired boy beside him.
"Liu Long, go teach the new kid a lesson!"
"Liu Long?" Yuan Luo's eyes shifted as though the name sounded familiar. Then he slapped his forehead and asked the leader, "You're Xiao Chenyu?"
Xiao Chenyu was somewhat shocked that his new roommate knew him.
He nodded instinctively.
A smile suddenly spread across Yuan Luo's face, revealing a mouthful of white teeth.
He would feel embarrassed bullying the other dorm mates, but Xiao Chenyu was a student who did every kind of evil...
"Since that's the case, I'll be the boss of Second Dormitory from now on. Any objections?"
"Hm? Kid, you've got a big mouth. Liu Long!"
At Xiao Chenyu's words, Liu Long stepped forward, his staff Martial Soul appearing in his hand.
Looking at the two-meter-long staff, Yuan Luo asked strangely, "Do you even know how to use a staff?"
Liu Long was not even one meter sixty tall yet, so holding a staff much taller than himself looked utterly ridiculous.
Liu Long swung his long staff and prepared to strike Yuan Luo.
Yuan Luo shook his head, gripped the bedframe railing with his left hand, and spun his body.
Taking advantage of Liu Long's inattention, he kicked out. Then, with a pull of his left hand, he swung himself back onto the bed.
Liu Long was kicked flying and crashed into Xiao Chenyu and Ling Feng. The three fell onto the beds.
"Bastard, get off me!"
Xiao Chenyu was pinned beneath them. He shoved Liu Long and Ling Feng away with both hands.
Xiao Chenyu's face darkened as he glared furiously at Yuan Luo.
"Kid, you've crossed me. Unless you hand over that Storage Soul Tool, you'll be spending the rest of your days in bed."
"Boring!"
Yuan Luo rolled his eyes at Xiao Chenyu, mocking inwardly, Villains sure talk a lot. Why not just charge in like a bull?
"Xiao Chenyu, sixth-year student. Martial Soul: Wolf. Level eleven, one-ring Battle Soul Master."
As he spoke, a layer of cyan light emerged from Xiao Chenyu's body. Amid the flickering light, his muscles began to swell.
His nails became sharp, and a white Soul Ring rose from beneath his feet as the image of a wolf appeared.
Yuan Luo raised his right hand and circulated the Soul Power within his body.
A yellow Soul Ring emerged from his body. His Soul Power erupted, pressing directly down upon Xiao Chenyu and the others.
"A... a hundred-year Soul Ring!"
Everyone was shocked. Several people fell directly to the floor.
Xiao Chenyu also trembled under the pressure of that Soul Power.
Yuan Luo withdrew his Soul Ring and said disdainfully, "You still want to be the boss? Without enough strength, where would you get that title? I'm taking the position of boss. If you want it back, train hard."
"Boss!"
"Boss!"
The others finally came to their senses, calling him boss again and again with wholehearted conviction.
