Background / History

Grandmaster first encounters Tang San and Yuan Luo at the entrance to Notting Junior Academy, where he asks to inspect their Martial Soul Hall certificates. He identifies Tang San's Twin Martial Souls and accepts him as a disciple. 9

After Yuan Luo enrolls, Grandmaster lends him a Soul Beast Compendium and asks about the “undiscovered” martial soul recorded on his certificate. Learning that it is Air and seeing Yuan Luo's unusually aged first soul ring, he becomes deeply interested in the implications for his martial soul theories. 10

Grandmaster later helps Yuan Luo plan his spirit-ring development. He recommends an ice-type third soul ring from the Far North so Yuan Luo can gain a control-oriented ability while continuing to develop as a versatile soul master. 26

At Shrek Academy, Grandmaster oversees the students' training and repeatedly uses Yuan Luo as a benchmark for the others. He organizes one-on-one challenges against Yuan Luo, critiques the students' tactical errors, and imposes endurance punishments when they act recklessly. 48 49 50

When Yuan Luo leaves for Slaughter City, Grandmaster eventually deciphers the clue left in his note and realizes where he has gone. He is shocked but relieved when Yuan Luo later returns safely. 56 66
