Background / History

Maple was born into a commoner family and was initially considered an average ninja talent. Her parents conducted business away from home year-round, leaving her alone much of the time. Despite this, she was notably diligent at the Ninja Academy, regularly finishing coursework early and seeking Ootani Yuuto's guidance. 18 25

After offering Yuzuru an extra bento, Maple accepts his invitation to train at the Hyuga Clan's outer training ground. Yuzuru offers to make her stronger in exchange for exclusive loyalty as his subordinate; although overwhelmed by his Byakugan pressure, she becomes determined to realize the potential he sees in her. 18

Her power changes abruptly after Yuzuru gives her a portion of Lady Youying's origin power. Maple awakens Shadow Stealth and begins receiving instruction from Lady Youying through a humanoid shadow. Hiruzen subsequently seals Maple's personnel file alongside those of Yuzuru and Uchiha Akihime due to the three students' unusual potential. 27

Maple develops Shadow Release rapidly, defeating older Academy student Nara Zentaro and later challenging Uchiha Akihime. Her growing command of the Kekkei Genkai lets her graduate early and join Yuzuru and Uchiha Akari under Sakumo's instruction. 35 36 46 47
