Anbu Come Knocking

Hearing this, Ye Lan felt a surge of gratitude, but then again, Kakashi was generally like this with his students. What's more, Ye Lan had a considerable liking for Kakashi and hoped that the days ahead under his guidance would be enjoyable.

Arriving at the dormitory, Ye Lan took a brief look around the room. It wasn't large, only about 20 square meters, with a simple bathroom, a bed, and a desk. There were also some bedding items, but nothing else. Ye Lan touched the bed and found that the bedding was new, practically unused. Ye Lan nodded in satisfaction and said, "Thank you so much."

Kakashi waved his hand and smiled, "It's nothing, it's all part of my job. If you don't have anything else, get some rest. Come with Sakura, Naruto, and Sasuke tomorrow to take the entrance exam."

Ye Lan was taken aback and asked, "Entrance exam? What entrance exam?" Kakashi said, "You didn't know? Every graduate from the Ninja Academy has to report here and take my test. If you pass, you become my student. If you fail, you have to go back to the Ninja Academy for another year of study and then take the exam again."

"Of course, my test is easy for some but difficult for others. I don't know if you'll be able to pass."

Ye Lan said confidently, "Don't worry, sensei, I'll do my best to pass."

Then Kakashi said to Ye Lan, "Alright then, get some rest, and I'll be off. If there are any new developments or instructions from the Hokage, I'll let you know. Don't overthink things. As for dinner, just grab something. Oh, Ye Lan, there's a ramen shop not far from here called Ichiraku Ramen. It's a particularly famous eatery in Konoha Village. Maybe you can try it out. I heard Naruto loves going there."

"You can go and give it a try. Maybe you'll even run into Naruto there." He nodded with a smile, "Then I won't disturb Kakashi-sensei any longer." Kakashi smiled, then turned and left the room.

Ye Lan quickly did some laundry and then lay down on the bed. After a busy day, he was indeed very tired. He slipped into the warm covers. Before long, Ye Lan fell into a deep sleep. When he opened his eyes again, it was already evening. He estimated that it was around six or seven in the evening. He was just about to go out for dinner when he suddenly noticed two masked men standing by his door. Ye Lan couldn't help but be surprised. But he was very familiar with the attire of the two masked men outside; weren't they members of Konoha Village's Anbu?

However, Ye Lan pretended not to know and said, "Who are you? Why are you here?" Ye Lan looked at them warily.

The masked man on the left said to Ye Lan, "We are members of Konoha Village's Anbu. We heard that you are a newcomer to Konoha Village, so we came to talk to you about something. I wonder if you're interested."

Ye Lan raised an eyebrow, thinking, These two guys are Anbu members. What do they want with me? Could Danzo have sent them? But I don't even know Danzo. Why would he come looking for me?

Ye Lan smiled at the masked man on the left and said, "Whether I'm interested or not depends on what you want to talk about. If you're going to grab me and do something or other, then how could I possibly agree?"
