Uchiha Gen fought in Konoha’s wars, rose to Jonin, and built political ties for his clan while seeking a place under Minato or Orochimaru. Minato chose Shisui as his disciple, so Gen began arranging a meeting with Orochimaru and reconciled with Shisui.

• Uchiha Gen defended Konoha during the Cloud and Sand invasion, used captured souls to create Homies, and earned a Chunin promotion.
• Uchiha Gen helped Konoha defeat Iwagakure and Cloud, fought alongside Kakashi Hatake and Rin Nohara on Team 7, and was promoted to Jonin at thirteen.
• Uchiha Gen urged Fugaku Uchiha to court both Minato Namikaze and Orochimaru as potential Hokage, while Mikoto Uchiha welcomed him into the family’s home.
• Minato Namikaze chose Shisui Uchiha as his disciple instead of Uchiha Gen, and Gen offered to approach Orochimaru on the clan’s behalf.

Uchiha Gen became Orochimaru’s disciple, led a team into battle, and helped Konoha gain the upper hand against the Hidden Mist. After Kushina’s attack devastated the Mist camp, Gen pursued and killed retreating enemies as Konoha’s forces advanced into the Land of Whirlpools.

• Uchiha Gen warned Shisui Uchiha that Konoha’s leaders might put their own power above the village, then negotiated the Uchiha Clan’s funding for Orochimaru in exchange for becoming his student.
• Orochimaru tested Uchiha Gen’s combat skills, accepted him as a disciple, and gave him the Bringer-of-Darkness Technique, the Kusanagi Blade, and access to Ryūchi Cave.
• Danzo warned Hiruzen about the Uchiha Clan’s influence, then Hiruzen sent Tsunade and the Sannin to reinforce the Hidden Mist Battlefield after Konoha’s clan leaders suffered heavy casualties.
• Uchiha Gen defeated Uchiha Shu in a spar, then formed a team with Kurenai Yuhi, Hyuga Tokuma, and Hayama Shirakumo and fought Mist ninjas in a major battle.
• Uchiha Gen killed Kiyoshi Minazuki and other Mist fighters as Konoha won battles that pushed Mist onto the peninsula and forced its forces to attack supply lines and towns.
• Uchiha Gen captured Uchiha Yuichi for an experiment and searched for missing Uchiha clan members, while Yagura learned Rin Nohara had died and ordered Mist to withdraw from the Land of Fire.

Uchiha Gen returned from the war, strengthened his influence among the Uchiha, and began secretly hunting criminals and rogue ninja to harvest their souls and lifespans. He returned to Orochimaru with money and research equipment, where Orochimaru revealed a new path toward immortality through soul transfer.

• Uchiha Gen abducted Uchiha Yuichi and Uchiha Sen from their mountain cave, hid them near Konoha, and arranged for Moki and Mokuni to guard them.
• Uchiha Gen returned to Konoha and persuaded Shisui Uchiha and Itachi Uchiha that the Uchiha should help unify the ninja world, making an Uchiha Hokage their first goal.
• Uchiha Gen advised Fugaku Uchiha to seek Setsuna Uchiha’s release and later warned Orochimaru that Minato Namikaze might become Hokage, though Orochimaru forbade him from influencing the choice.
• Uchiha Gen attended Minato Namikaze’s confidence vote but skipped his succession ceremony, studying Orochimaru’s Spirit Transformation Technique and learning to project part of his soul.
• Uchiha Gen left Konoha and destroyed the Poison Serpent Gang, freeing its captives and taking its wealth for Orochimaru’s research.
• Uchiha Gen hunted rogue ninja and samurai across the Land of Fire, earning the name Night Angler after more than two hundred deaths and surpassing a thousand kills.
• Uchiha Gen returned to Orochimaru’s research base, split the remaining equipment funds with him, and heard Orochimaru describe an incomplete soul-transfer technique as a possible route to immortality.

Uchiha Gen developed his Sharingan, built a team, and gathered Soul Power while secretly preparing for the Nine-Tails’ attack on Konoha. When the beast rampaged, Gen helped Fugaku lead the Uchiha into battle, and Minato fought off the masked attacker who controlled it.

• Uchiha Gen proposed using cloned bodies for Orochimaru’s Living Corpse Reincarnation research, then began helping with the experiments.
• Uchiha Gen tested Sharingan evolution on Uchiha Yuichi and Uchiha Sen, analyzed the results, and evolved his own eyes to Three-Tomoe Sharingan.
• Uchiha Gen formed a team with Kurenai Yuhi, Anko, and Uzuki Yugao, secured their transfers, and trained them with new techniques.
• Uchiha Gen left Konoha to gather Soul Power, manipulated Fujita Saiyo into collecting experimental subjects, and later rescued Yuichi and Sen from an abandoned base.
• Uchiha Gen returned to Konoha, advised Shisui Uchiha, trained his team and Itachi Uchiha, and watched a warning arrive for Minato Namikaze about an attack on the village.
