Background

Kiana wandered from the Euro-Siberian region to the Far East while searching for her father, Siegfried. She supported herself, worked at a drink shop, and enrolled at Senba Academy largely by accident; she intended to leave if her search failed. Unknown to her, Siegfried had been covertly guiding and protecting her journey while trying to avoid triggers for the Herrscher consciousness within her. 69 76 103

At Senba Academy, Kiana was treated as an outsider. Her repeated rejection of confessions and her forceful response to harassment led to rumors portraying her as rude and uncouth, but she paid little attention to the gossip. She distrusted the rumors surrounding Raiden Mei and intervened when she believed Mei was being unfairly targeted, beginning their friendship. 76 77

Kiana initially planned to leave Changkong City as soon as she learned Siegfried's whereabouts. After discovering that Cocolia intended to turn the city into an artificial Honkai experiment and use Mei as a Herrscher target, she put her personal search aside and committed herself to protecting the city's residents. 112 113
