Background / History

Otto was already Destiny's Grand Bishop when Bianca and Rita returned from the Sea of Quantum with an unconscious white-haired youth. Initially considering the survivor a potentially valuable research subject, he found a silver pendant containing a photograph of an alternate Otto, Kallen, and their child. Through a simulated Feather of Dust, Otto confirmed that the youth came from a world bubble where he and Kallen had married and had a son, though Kallen died shortly after childbirth. His attitude toward Gwen changed from clinical curiosity to personal concern. 3 4

He used genetic testing to establish Gwen's Caslana lineage, then brought him into Destiny's care. Otto arranged medical treatment, intensive training, social connections, and a path toward the vacant Caslana patriarch position. Otto believed humanity would face more than ten Herrschers before ultimately confronting Finality.
