A Simple Girl
Early in the morning,
Lara crawled out of the tent. Light snowflakes drifted from the sky, and the air carried a chill. She took a deep breath; it was biting and fresh, yet she felt warm all over, brimming with strength.
She clenched her fists and stretched. Lara could clearly feel that her physical fitness had improved significantly.
When she turned and saw Jiang Hao emerging from the tent, Lara beamed. "Jon, I feel like I've gotten much stronger. Does that mean I have a Special Ability now? Will I become Superman someday?!"
Jiang Hao smiled bitterly to himself. You're already Superman—a female Superman.
They made breakfast,
Packed their gear,
Then the two motorcycles set off again, weaving through the mountain forest. Two hours later, they reached the foot of the mountain. From there on, they could only continue on foot. They put on their packs, picked up their bows, and entered the woods.
Their feet crunched over thick fallen leaves and shallow snow as they walked forward step by step, crossing one ridge after another. Both of them began to feel tired.
"Do you want to rest?" Jiang Hao asked with concern.
"I want to test how much stronger I've become," Lara said, slightly out of breath.
They walked several more kilometers before Lara finally became too exhausted to continue. She bent over and leaned against a tree with her backpack, resting.
Though tired, her face was full of smiles. "Jon, I compared this to the wilderness hikes I did during training camp. I really am much stronger than before. If I had to estimate it, my stamina has probably increased by around one-third."
"Spiritual power really is amazing!" Lara could not help praising it.
