Masahiko impersonated Hanzō to install Yahiko as the Land of Rain’s leader, then returned to training his students and managing the Land of Whirlpools. He brought Naruto to Konoha, where Naruto declared his ambition to become Hokage, Masahiko agreed to protect Kohiko’s surname, and Masahiko discovered Toneri and his father watching the village.

• Masahiko disguised himself as Hanzō, fought Yahiko’s group, then revealed himself and arranged for Yahiko to take leadership of the Land of Rain.
• Masahiko resumed training Kimimaro, Haku, and Karin, and gave Nagato the new Ninja Swordsmen weapons for their first mission.
• Masahiko staged Nagato and Killer B’s concert before beating Killer B, while Kushina’s remarks led him to learn that Danzo had died.
• A young man extracted Danzo’s memories, summoned Uchiha Madara, and sought the Ame-no-Nu-Hoko to counter Masahiko.
• Naruto threatened to expose Masahiko’s relationship with Sara unless Masahiko took him to Konoha, so Masahiko agreed.
• Masahiko, Minato, Kushina, and Naruto visited Konoha’s orphanage, where Naruto declared he would win over the war orphans and become Hokage.
• Mikoto told Masahiko that Kohiko’s Sharingan awakening had brought pressure from the Uchiha, and Masahiko agreed to help keep Kohiko from taking their surname.
• Masahiko left Kushina and the others to enroll Naruto at the academy, then found Toneri and his father watching Konoha as they planned to pair Toneri with Hinata to awaken the Tenseigan.

Masahiko brought Toneri to Earth, then traveled with Kimimaro, Haku, and Karin while treating Kimimaro and training the children in Iwagakure. As the Land of Rain sought alliances with the great villages, Masahiko watched Chiyo try and fail to persuade Sasori to return to Sunagakure.

• Masahiko left the moon with Toneri, introduced him to Konoha, and helped enroll him in the Academy, where Toneri sat behind Hinata.
• Masahiko treated Kimimaro’s Bloodline Disease at Orochimaru’s laboratory, studied Medical Jutsu, and developed an evasive taijutsu style while training Kimimaro, Haku, and Karin.
• Masahiko and the children traveled to Iwagakure, where they met Deidara and Kurotsuchi and trained with Kurotsuchi, Akatsuchi, and Deidara.
• Sasori attacked Iwagakure with a Human Puppet made from Hanzō, but Masahiko contained its toxins and Kakuzu supplied an antidote.
• Kakuzu explained that Yahiko wanted the Akatsuki Organization to unite villages and powerful fighters to arbitrate disputes and punish countries that started wars.
• Chiyo asked Sasori to return to Sunagakure and offered to restore his human body, but Sasori dismissed her pleas and left with her to discuss the alliance with Ōnoki.

Masahiko investigated the destruction of the Land of Water, trained the children, and became entangled in a battle against a young Rinnegan wielder and the resurrected Hitomi. After recovering, he returned to Konoha’s affairs and maxed out Yang Release, only for a black sphere to emerge from his chest.

• Yahiko pursued Akatsuki’s peace plan while Masahiko advised him on recruiting village representatives and warned that Hiruzen might delay Konoha’s participation.
• Sasori revealed his enormous puppet body and fought Chiyo, while Masahiko defended himself against Sasori’s puppets and then took Karin, Kimimaro, and Haku to train in the Land of Iron.
• Masahiko found the Land of Water destroyed by a massive attack, identified Dark Akatsuki as the likely culprit, and shared his intelligence with Yahiko and Mifune.
• Masahiko finished the children’s training, returned to the Land of Whirlpools, and later learned that Madara had been resurrected and attacked the Senju and Uchiha ancestral teams.
• Masahiko fought the young Rinnegan wielder, who used Impure World Reincarnation to summon Hashirama and attempted to summon Madara before fleeing into an underground base.
• The young man’s ritual brought back Hitomi, who opened the Gate of Death and fought Masahiko over the ocean until Masahiko was severely injured and fell unconscious.
• After awakening, Masahiko learned that Konoha had sealed Hashirama and Mito, while the young Rinnegan wielder recovered in the Land of Rain and Orochimaru contemplated Kaguya and the Power of Destiny.
• Masahiko helped manage the Fat Sheep Casino, took Naruto to repaint Hokage Rock, and maxed out Yang Release before a black sphere emerged from his chest.

Masahiko helped establish the Akatsuki Organization, strengthened Gaara’s seal, and responded to threats against the Jinchuriki while protecting Sara and supporting Kushina’s pregnancy. Back in Konoha, he trained Naruto and became entangled in the Uchiha succession and the coming choice of the Fifth Hokage, while Toneri’s growing bond with Hinata raised new concerns.

• Masahiko completed a fused Truth-Seeking Orb and developed a Sage Mode cloak, then taught Sage Mode to Kushina and Konan.
• Masahiko attended the Akatsuki Organization’s first gathering, helped Yahiko rally the nations against Dark Akatsuki, and named Kimimaro, Haku, and Karin’s team Hawk.
• Masahiko discovered that Dark Akatsuki had captured Roshi, confronted the reanimated Senju Butsuma, and later helped Gaara control Shukaku and reconnect with his family.
• Masahiko hurried back to the Land of Whirlpools after an anonymous letter claimed Sara was ill, then strengthened her protection and trained alongside Konan and Kushina as they mastered Sage Mode.
• Masahiko realized Kushina was pregnant and helped keep the news private while Konoha began discussing the birth and possible names for the baby.
• Masahiko investigated the Uchiha and Senju dispute, agreed that Dōzan could adopt Senju Moegi, and began training Naruto while loosening part of the Nine-Tails’ seal.
• After Shisui disappeared, Masahiko searched with Itachi and concluded that Shisui had probably left voluntarily, then urged Kagami and Hiruzen to choose Konoha’s Fifth Hokage.
• Masahiko heard that Obito might become the Fifth Hokage, while Hiashi considered Toneri a future Hokage and Hinata began showing interest in him.
