Jiang Mian glanced at the nauseating Yu Xiaogang, then at Tang San and Xiao Wu, who were barely suppressing their anger.
The corner of his mouth curved slightly as he walked between the two wooden crates. He reached out and lifted Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun, who kept their eyes shut, not daring to look at anyone.
Jiang Mian first threw Ma Hongjun onto the ground. He freed up one hand, grasped Dai Mubai by the neck, and chuckled, "Tang San, if you want him to live, don't be a coward."
Dai Mubai's face gradually turned red. Tang San remained calm. Xiao Wu grabbed Tang San and whispered, "Brother San, don't rush. This is a provocation."
"Jiang Mian, what exactly do you want?" Yu Xiaogang's eyes widened as he yelled, "Is there any heavenly justice? Any law?"
"I'll deal with you later," Jiang Mian glanced at Yu Xiaogang, completely ignoring him. Jiang Mian's gaze was fixed on Tang San. He said, "Tang San, if you kneel down and kowtow three times right now, I might consider letting him go."
"Jiang Mian!" Tang San's veins bulged on his forehead. He slowly walked out from the crowd and said coldly, "My head can be severed, my blood can flow, but Dai Laoda, I will avenge you."
"For your own pride, you're disregarding the feelings of your brothers?" Jiang Mian wasn't surprised by Tang San's response at all. He was a heartless wretch, no doubt about it, just like that Yu Xiaogang.
"Xiao San, what are you doing?" Flander was greatly alarmed. He hadn't expected Tang San not only to not save Dai Mubai but to push him further into the fire.
"Dean Flander, I don't think Dai Laoda would want to live such a humiliating life," Tang San said righteously. "We, the students of Shrek, can lose our heads, our blood can flow, but our pride must never be broken!"
Hearing Tang San's words, even though Dai Mubai's face was flushed and he couldn't speak, he struggled desperately, wanting to say something.
Who wouldn't want to live!
Jiang Mian sneered. He casually threw Dai Mubai onto the ground and said, "Dai Mubai, did you hear that? You know who caused you to lose your 'roots.' These are the brothers you're so proud of?"
"Tang San, you're ruthless!" Dai Mubai glared at Tang San through gritted teeth. Tang San, however, met Dai Mubai's gaze directly, presumably having already figured out how to manipulate them.
Jiang Mian let out a scoff. Fishing required patience. He wasn't in a hurry to kill Tang San. After all, the greater Tang San's hatred for him, the more immense the feeling would be when Jiang Mian finally killed him.
Since you, Tang San, don't care about your brother's life, then I, Jiang Mian, will fulfill your wish.
With a swift movement, a large pool of blood instantly appeared on the ground. The two were decapitated, their expressions of hatred frozen forever.
Many students were so terrified they fell to the ground and vomited uncontrollably. Seeing the human remains splattered all over the ground, Flander's entire body suddenly went limp, and he fainted.
"These two were not worth mourning," Jiang Mian said dismissively, looking at the human remains soaked in blood. "Tang San, your fate won't be much better."
"I don't care who you are. I am a disciple of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. You will all pay for this!" Liu Erlong's eyes blazed with anger. She pointed at Jiang Mian and yelled, "Your name is Jiang Mian, right? I will make you pay!"
"I'm right here," Jiang Mian said, hands behind his back, with a cold smile. "Whether it's you, or Tang San, or anyone else from Shrek, I, Jiang Mian, await your challenge!"
Oscar, hiding in the crowd, looked at the lifeless eyes of Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun, then at Tang San, who was feigning righteousness, and wondered what to think.
Everyone present, aside from those who were clueless, knew that Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun had suffered a calamity because they had stepped up for Tang San.
Jiang Mian was inherently a villain, so no one would blame a villain's actions. But Tang San was different. He had sacrificed his brothers' lives for his own pride, and he would bear that infamy.
Even if they outwardly cursed Jiang Mian a few times, their actions would definitely keep them far away from Tang San.
Because a true villain is better than a hypocrite.
Besides, was Jiang Mian truly a villain? Human nature is complex; there is no absolute good or evil.
"Let's go," Jiang Mian hummed a tune, patted Sallas on the shoulder, and said with a smile, "You handle the cleanup here. Don't be lenient or play favorites."
"Rest assured, Elder." Sallas clasped his hands. Jiang Mian left Shrek Academy with Xie Yue and Bear Lord, heading straight for the Star Dou Great Forest.
This trip to the Evil Eye Forest on the Sun Moon Continent would likely take at least a year or more to return. If there were any accidents along the way, it might take even longer.
Jiang Mian still had the Spirit Master Tournament on his mind.
As the three just left the city, it was as if a fiery sunset cloud was rapidly approaching from the horizon. Jiang Mian focused his gaze and realized it wasn't a sunset cloud but Crimson King flying through the air!
"Crimson King is here," Bear Lord chuckled. Crimson King descended directly in front of Jiang Mian like a shooting star. The entire Heaven Dou Imperial City clearly saw this scene. The fiery sunset cloud was majestic, but it converged and landed before Jiang Mian. Surely, anyone not foolish enough could guess that this sight must be related to Jiang Mian.
"Crimson King, how is it?" Jiang Mian asked, looking at the spirited Crimson King with a smile. "Where is Yan?"
"I left him in the lava region," Crimson King replied grumpily. "Over a month, and no progress. Has that kid been kicked by a donkey?"
"That sounds too dangerous," Jiang Mian exclaimed.
Crimson King patted his chest and said, "Don't worry, I've subdued all the spirit beasts in charge there."
Despite Crimson King's sternness, he was actually quite good to Yan.
Yes, quite good.
"Bear Lord just messaged me saying you were going to the Evil Eye Forest to deal with that guy. I rushed over as soon as I got the message," Crimson King said, wiping the sweat from his forehead and chuckling. "How could I miss out on the excitement?"
Jiang Mian smiled faintly. Crimson King and Jiang Mian were closely connected, as if they had a radar lock on each other, allowing Crimson King to precisely locate Jiang Mian.
Crimson King looked at Jiang Mian, worried, "I wonder how Lord Master is recovering. Is it not good to disturb them so abruptly?"
"There's no other way," Jiang Mian spread his hands. "Since you're here, Crimson King, please go to the Star Dou Great Forest first to meet Di Tian and explain the situation. Bear Lord, Xie Yue, and I will follow shortly."
"Alright." Crimson King didn't linger at all and transformed into a fiery sunset cloud again, flying towards the Star Dou Great Forest.
"With Xie Yue and my speed, it will take at least three more days to reach the Star Dou Great Forest," Jiang Mian said. "Let Crimson King go ahead to give them a heads-up so Di Tian can be prepared."
"Well thought out," Bear Lord nodded. "To deal with that guy, even if all of us old fellows gather, if we don't prepare for some casualties, we won't be able to subdue him."
"After all, it's on his turf, and we're facing the second-ranked among the Ten Great Ferocious Beasts," Jiang Mian sighed. "It would be best if we could persuade him, as opportunities for spirit beasts to become gods are rare."
"That guy's brain is like it's missing a screw," Bear Lord said resentfully. "The moment we step onto his territory, he'll definitely want to fight first. He can't calm down without a fight."
"After all, on the Sun Moon Continent, his status is on par with Di Tian's," Jiang Mian said. "If Lord Silver Dragon King could accompany me, things might be much easier."
"Your influence is really quite significant," Bear Lord said with a laugh. "To arrange for a sixth Soul Ring for you, you even managed to get the Master involved."
"Just kidding," Jiang Mian said, patting his chest with pride. "Who do you think I am?"
Xie Yue snickered and said, "Brother-in-law, call me big brother-in-law."
"You're getting in on this too?" Jiang Mian chuckled, kicking Xie Yue in the rear. "Shouldn't big brother-in-law be looking out for his little brother-in-law a bit?"
"Absolutely," Xie Yue said, slapping his backside. He then wrapped an arm around Jiang Mian's neck and said, "Then brother-in-law will teach you what a guillotine is."
"Owie owie owie, that hurts!"
"You're saying Jiang Mian needs to acquire his sixth Soul Ring?" Di Tian asked, looking at Yan, who was kneeling before him, calmly. "Hasn't this kid only been gone for two months? He's back already?"
"This should be a good thing," Snow Empress said, meditating cross-legged beside him. She slowly opened her eyes and smiled. "The faster Jiang Mian cultivates, the more benefits it brings us."
"It's just that Evil Emperor fellow," Di Tian said, rubbing his temples with a troubled expression. "The Master hasn't fully recovered yet. If we act rashly, it might not be wise."
"Even if my strength hasn't fully recovered, as long as no Deity descends, no one can kill me yet," Silver Dragon King Gu Yuena's voice echoed softly from the bottom of the lake. "Let's proceed with your plan."
"Yes," Di Tian nodded.
Indeed, with Jiang Mian's current influence, he couldn't possibly mobilize Silver Dragon King Gu Yuena. After all, she was the true master of the Spirit Beasts. Why would she risk herself, or even be able to?
"As you command," Di Tian replied respectfully. Only after Silver Dragon King's voice completely disappeared did he stand up and begin to strategize. "Last time, I spoke with the Evil Emperor in the Evil Eye Forest, but we couldn't reach an agreement. This time, it's bound to be a fierce battle."
"Snow Empress, Bi Ji, Yan, the three of you, along with Bear Lord, will accompany me," Di Tian said. "King of Ten Thousand Demons, Zi Ji, Ice Empress, and Spirit, the four of you will follow the Master to guard the Star Dou Great Forest."
Auspicious Beast flicked her ears, about to say something, but was silenced by Di Tian's stern gaze.
Di Tian would never allow Auspicious Beast to join such a dangerous undertaking.
"Yes."
After Di Tian made his arrangements, he signaled for Yan to lead the way. Instantly, the area around the Lake of Life flickered with colorful light as the four Fierce Beasts set off together, flying towards Jiang Mian's current location.
"They're here."
Bear Lord suddenly stopped, his eyes gleaming with excitement as he pointed to the sky. "They've arrived."
"So soon?" Jiang Mian calculated the time. It had only been three hours since they left Heaven Dou Imperial City, and Yan had already delivered the message?
"Speed is of the essence," Bear Lord chuckled. "Yan is reliable when it comes to his tasks."
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.
Four streaks of brilliant light landed before Jiang Mian simultaneously. Di Tian emerged first, followed closely by Snow Empress, Bi Ji, Yan, and the other two Fierce Beasts.
"Jiang Mian, you've done very well," Di Tian said, looking at Jiang Mian with a smile. "I was right about you."
"Thank you for your trouble, Di Tian," Jiang Mian said, cupping his hands. Even with his thick skin, he felt a little embarrassed at this moment, as he was asking them to travel across the seas and risk their lives for him. "Thank you all."
"You're too kind," Snow Empress said with a slight smile. She walked up to Jiang Mian, patted his head, and chuckled. "We only separated a month ago, and yet you seem to have grown taller."
"That's right, I'll be an adult soon," Jiang Mian grinned and asked, "How is the Master's condition?"
"She is recovering very well," Di Tian replied. "Perhaps in less than three years, she'll be back to her old self."
"That's good," Jiang Mian said, scratching his head, a little shyly. "I was just afraid I might have delayed the Master's important affairs."
"Little Mian is still so thoughtful," Bi Ji said gently. "Don't worry, with King of Ten Thousand Demons and the other Fierce Beasts guarding the Star Dou Great Forest, the Master is very safe."
"Yes," Di Tian nodded. "Let's not waste any more time and get things done."
"Okay," Jiang Mian said. "How should we get to the Evil Eye Forest?"
Di Tian didn't answer. He walked over to Jiang Mian, grabbed him, and with a rush of wind past Jiang Mian's ears, the surroundings suddenly blurred as they moved at incredible speed, like riding a high-speed train, making his eyes water.
Jiang Mian rubbed his eyes, marveling inwardly. He was now above the clouds, surrounded by a soul power shield that maintained the same pressure, oxygen levels, and airflow as the ground.
"This is certainly a fast way to travel," Jiang Mian exclaimed, giving a thumbs-up. "This is what being an immortal is like."
"This is just the beginning," Di Tian chuckled. "Only when you reach the summit yourself can you see the magnificent spectacle that cannot be described in words."
"I think," Jiang Mian said with a smile, "we're not far off."
The group traveled in grand formation, with Di Tian carrying Jiang Mian at the forefront, leading the way, followed closely by Snow Empress and the others.
Fortunately, they were flying above the clouds where no one could see them. If they were on the ground, the common folk would know of Jiang Mian's great feat within three days.
"Master, I'm afraid of heights," Xie Yue said, clinging tightly to Bear Lord's arm, afraid he might fall. Bear Lord found it amusing and could only allocate a bit more of his soul power to look after Xie Yue.
Even at their current speed, with brief stops for rest, it would take them three months to reach the Evil Eye Forest on the Sun Moon Continent.
This showed how vast the distance between the two continents was ten thousand years ago.
Of course, this was also partly due to Jiang Mian and Xie Yue being burdens. If Di Tian were alone and using his full abilities, his speed would be several times faster.
"We'll first stop at the east coast to recover our soul power," Di Tian said. "The remaining journey is across a vast ocean, so we can only find small islands to rest on."
"Okay."
Looking at the magnificent sight of the surging sea of clouds, Jiang Mian felt a thrill.
"Evil Eye Tyrant Overlord? You'll soon be in my grasp."
