Background / History
Jiang Mian's parents once saved Ning Fengzhi's life, leading the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect to raise him for six years. Although Sword Douluo regarded him highly because of his Innate Full Spirit Power, Gu Rong argued that the sect had already repaid the family debt. Jiang Mian was driven out and subsequently pursued by the sect's eighty-seventh-level offering, Xiong Qing. 1 2
While fleeing into the Star Dou Great Forest, Jiang Mian used his Spirit Ball to capture the Emperor Auspicious Beast, the Three-Eyed Golden Lion. Di Tian initially threatened him over the capture, but accepted the arrangement after witnessing the Auspicious Beast gain nearly a thousand years of cultivation during a brief battle. Jiang Mian promised to help spirit beasts pursue godhood, and Di Tian required him to remain in the forest until he could subdue a second spirit beast. 3
His alliance with the spirit beasts expanded when the Snow Empress willingly entered his Spirit Ball. Her acceptance added the Extreme Ice attribute to Jiang Mian, while her mark allowed her to observe and locate him. 9
Appearance
Jiang Mian is described as a handsome young man. During the aftermath of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect operation, he wore a crimson robe supplied by Crimson King. 39
- Martial Soul True Body — manifests as a towering warrior in dark-blue armor carrying an ice sword. 61
- Snowflake mark — located between his eyebrows; left by the Snow Empress through her Origin Ice Core. 17
- Spirit rings — at one point displayed one red ring and four orange rings. 15
Personality
Jiang Mian is defiant toward institutions that seek to control him. His expulsion from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect shaped a revenge-driven outlook: he intends to repay kindness generously but answer mistreatment with lasting destruction. 2 24
He is also calculating and politically ambitious. He negotiates with powerful figures such as Di Tian, Dugu Bo, Qian Renxue, and Qian Daoliu, often leveraging his spirit-beast connections to secure cooperation. His long-term objective is to unify the continent and create a path for humans and spirit beasts to ascend. 3 26 29 40 53
Despite his ruthlessness toward enemies, Jiang Mian intervenes for people threatened by Evil Spirit Masters and forced exploitation, relocates rescued townsfolk toward Martial Soul Hall territory, and treats the injuries of allies. 16 29 42
