In boundless darkness without a trace of light, Chaya had no idea how long he had been here. One year, two years, or even longer? He could no longer remember.

Ever since arriving here, he had drifted aimlessly through this endless place.

Tiny balls of light, some bright and some dim, floated past him. Chaya tried his best to move closer to them, but whenever he was about to reach one, it swiftly vanished into the darkness.

He did not know why he chased those balls of light. He only instinctively wanted to leave this dark place as soon as possible.

In his previous life, Chaya had been an ordinary office worker, working nine to five every day before rushing all over the city like everyone else. That day, he got off work as usual and, while passing through a market, decided to buy something to treat himself that evening. But just then, a sheet of tempered glass from a construction site fell from high above and struck him dead on. He was knocked unconscious on the spot.

When he woke up, he found himself in this unfamiliar, dark place.

Chaya usually enjoyed reading novels, so he was no stranger to the bizarre experiences of their protagonists. Thus, when he found himself suddenly in this vast region of darkness, he quickly realized what had happened and even felt somewhat excited.

Could it be that his luck had finally changed, and he had arrived in the legendary Age of Chaos? Following the usual trope, should he get acquainted with Pangu, cling to his thigh, and then slaughter gods when he met gods and slaughter Buddhas when he met Buddhas?

But the time that followed made Chaya realize that novels were all lies. Not only did he fail to encounter any legendary great deity or obtain any treasure, he had not even seen a single tangible ray of light.

Gradually, Chaya understood his situation. This was not the legendary Age of Chaos, filled with endless heavenly treasures. It was simply a black prison without the slightest hope, and unfortunately, he had been locked inside it.

He became utterly depressed, not knowing when he would be able to escape.

"Going by the timing, a new ball of light should appear soon. I need to try harder this time. I can definitely escape from here!" Chaya fiercely encouraged himself, his gaze fixed tightly on the darkness ahead.

Suddenly, a dazzling point of light appeared and slowly grew larger. It was an enormous ball of light. Chaya was certain he had never seen one so large or so bright before.

"What a huge ball of light! I'm going for it. Whether I can leave this place depends on this attempt!"

Gritting his teeth, Chaya used every ounce of strength to swim toward the massive ball of light. Piercing gales battered his body, while agony from the depths of his soul relentlessly tormented him. Yet he clenched his jaw and endured it.

"Just a little more. I'll be there soon."

His distorted face stared fiercely ahead, determination gleaming in his eyes as he endured the pounding gales and advanced toward the ball of light inch by inch.

Only when he drew close did Chaya realize that the ball of light before him was unimaginably huge. Before it, he seemed as tiny as an ant.

"Haha, I finally made it. I can leave this awful place." Excitement appeared on Chaya's face as he slowly moved closer.

At the instant he touched the ball of light, it felt as though a powerful current surged through his entire body, firmly pinning him to its surface.

Intense pain scorched his soul. At the same time, gray, murky currents from the darkness rushed toward Chaya. The two extreme pains overwhelmed him, twisting his expression, until he finally could no longer bear it and passed out.

But Chaya did not know that after he lost consciousness, the two powerful gray energies began to converge and merge, gradually refining his soul and causing it to rapidly strengthen in a short time. Then, with a whoosh, Chaya vanished, sucked into the interior of the giant ball of light.

The gray, dark space returned to calm. Only tiny flickering points of light continued to appear out of nowhere from time to time before vanishing in an instant.

Planet Vegeta, infant incubation room.

This was a highly advanced facility. All newborn Saiyan infants spent a period of time here before being assigned to different planets according to their aptitude to carry out missions.

Due to the importance of this place, King Vegeta had spared no expense in deploying a large number of troops to guard it. At the same time, he had arranged for Planet Vegeta's most advanced computers to monitor it.

Suddenly, a slight disturbance occurred in one of the incubation beds along the side of the room. The computer detected a strange energy signature, and a buzzing alarm abruptly sounded.

"What happened?" The middle-aged Saiyan responsible for guarding the infant room hurried over upon hearing the alarm and questioned the aliens nearby.

Several aliens with crocodile-like mouths immediately checked the computer, then ran to the bed that had triggered the alarm. After carefully comparing all the data, they replied, "It's nothing. There may be a problem with the incubation pod's data detection port, causing the computer to issue a false alarm. Replacing it with a new pod should solve it."

"You gave me a scare. The technology on your Planet Dadar isn't very reliable, is it? Hurry up and replace this child's pod with a new one."

The middle-aged Saiyan stationed nearby wore a mocking expression as he barked at the aliens to get to work, then swaggered away with a swing of his arm.

The Planet Dadar aliens looked at one another and helplessly shook their heads.

The lead alien shouted, "What are you waiting for? Replace the incubation pod now. If we anger the Saiyans, we'll be the ones to suffer."

The remaining Planet Dadar aliens shuddered at his words. They hurriedly brought over a brand-new incubation bed and transferred the Saiyan infant into it. Only then did they cautiously leave the infant incubation room, continuing to monitor every bit of the infant's data without daring to relax in the slightest.

This was the sorrow of the weak. The people of Planet Dadar belonged to a cosmic civilization with little fighting power. After their home planet had been conquered by the Saiyans, they had not been exterminated because they possessed decent technology. Instead, they were kept to care for newborn Saiyan infants.

Given the Saiyans' tyranny and cruelty, Planet Dadar's fate was already extremely fortunate for a weak planet that had been invaded. On other worthless planets, every native had been slaughtered, and the planets were then sold off.

After the guarding Saiyan and the Planet Dadar aliens left, the Saiyan infant whose incubation pod had been replaced opened his eyes. An incredulous light flashed in his tender gaze.

"This is actually Planet Vegeta? I actually became a Saiyan infant?"

Chaya spoke with a face full of astonishment. He had never expected that after passing through the giant ball of light and leaving the dark space, he would enter the Dragon Ball World and be reborn as a Saiyan. Even stranger, he could actually understand the aliens' language.

"I wonder what era this is? How many years are left until the story begins?"

This was what Chaya most wanted to know.

However, since Planet Vegeta had not yet been destroyed, it at least meant that the story had not begun. But a powerful sense of urgency immediately surged into his heart.

This was the Dragon Ball World. Its powerful fighters could pluck stars and seize moons, terrifying figures who could destroy planets at the drop of a hat.

Chaya quickly calmed down and carefully considered what to do next. "First, I need to figure out the era of the Dragon Ball World. I wonder how long remains before Planet Vegeta is destroyed. If there's plenty of time, it will be manageable. Otherwise, I'll be in danger."

Faced with the tremendous impact of a planet's destruction, Chaya did not dare guarantee that he would have Son Goku's good fortune and escape alive. He could only silently pray that enough time had been left for him.

Then Chaya noticed the transparent data display on the incubation pod. It showed some basic information about the Saiyan infant.
